DuGaren Venues & Vineyards is a family owned business located in Denver, NC. The total square footage of the Venue is 10,000 square feet. There are so many unique elements of the Venue such as the large Winery space entrance doors that were obtained from an old home in Savannah GA, and the free standing fireplace at the Pavilion that was from the original home built on the land back in the 1800's. Uptown Indigo is a family owned and operated venue with two floors and a breathtaking rooftop terrace. The design is "chic industrial" with lots of artistic details. Our wedding venue is unique because the ceremony, reception, and lodging overlook the beautiful Roaring River. You are just a few feet from the river at all times. The views are amazing, and few vineyards in the local area can rival the natural beauty of our setting. The vineyard has an elegant old-world stone entrance, ponds on each side of the main entrance road, and a beautiful stone fountain. As you pass the door, the vineyards unfold before you – the view is reminiscent of a French hillside vineyard. We are a full-service resort with event venues, lodging, a hot tub building, Chez Josephine Restaurant, a beer/wine tasting room, RV Park, and Harvest Host. We have one of the most scenic sites for your event, with 1.5 miles of riverbanks along the Roaring River. Few sites have an actual river, perhaps a creek, but this is the east prong of the Roaring River that flows down from Stone Mountain.

The historic Monte Vista Hotel is a key component to Black Mountain’s storied past. Originally home to the Cherokee people, this valley became an early pathway west for traders, explorers and people seeking a new life beyond the eastern mountains. The town of Black Mountain grew rapidly after the railroad was completed in the late 19th century, and this new “railroad town” needed more lodging. Lucien and Rosalie Phillips opened the Monte Vista in 1919, repurposing a former school building. In 1937, the current brick building was constructed, further cementing the Monte Vista Hotel as a central piece of Black Mountain’s civic and social life. The Annex, a separate structure located behind the original, was added in 1975. Though the hotel has since undergone complete renovations and new ownership, many of the original elements have been preserved, and the new decorative touches complement the look and feel of the original structure.
