About this venue

Big R Orchards - Wedding and Event Venue is located on top of Brushy Mountain in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Wilkesboro, NC. Enjoy the beauty and romance of 150 acres of family owned & working apple & peach orchards with a 6 acre lake and golf green peninsula with amazing mountain views. The pavilion was uniquely designed and hand-crafted by friends & neighbors. The elegant bridal suite is spacious with over 1000 sf of space, private bathroom, & hair and makeup stations. There is a full commercial caterer's kitchen, public bathrooms, and grooms suite. The open but covered grand hall is 6000 sf with 2 huge chandeliers, Edison string lights, post lights, and a huge rock fireplace. There are also motorized curtains on the west side that can be closed or opened with a touch of a button. The Pavilion

Wine-country chic is definitely the vibe

The pavilion is spacious and "wine-country" chic. Beautifully lighted and open on 3 sides with the ability to close-off the western side with a touch of a button. It features a large rock fireplace and opens to a spacious open-air dance floor. It is the perfect & beautiful contingency plan for the ceremony in case of inclement weather.

Golf Green Penisula

Golf Green Peninsula that juts out into a 6 acre lake - perfect place to get married

This ceremony space is a golf green peninsula that juts out into a 6 acre privately owned lake. It is a stunning place to get married. One important detail, even though this is primarily an outdoor venue, the green is fully shaded during the ceremony - 5:00 to 6:30pm for most of the year (April - Sept 15th). This makes your guests and wedding party much more comfortable and it makes your pictures better. We are on top of Brushy Mountain so we are typically 10 degrees cooler than Wilkesboro.
