About this venue

Uptown Indigo is a family owned and operated venue with two floors and a breathtaking rooftop terrace. The design is "chic industrial" with lots of artistic details. From the original tin ceilings to the handmade tiles, Uptown Indigo is a truly unique wedding venue. The venue can accommodate up to 220 seated guests, with the largest space being the 6,000 square foot Indigo Ballroom. This ballroom is characterized by its modern light fixtures combined with original historic elements. It is fully accessible with a vintage elevator and large, elegant bathrooms. The Steeples Event Space is on the top floor, complete with a prohibition-era, rustic space for cocktail hours or smaller ceremonies. The detailed tile ceilings along with the warm lighting give the space a romantic, yet fun feel. The Ballroom

Grand Ballroom with magnificent lighting and original tin ceiling tiles.

The Ballroom level has a large bar, spacious bathrooms, and a 6,000 square foot space with the original floors and the original tin ceiling. This level usually holds ceremonies and receptions. One side has antiqued mirrors while the other has windows showing the 1909 Gothic Revival church next door.

Other add-ons available upon request.

Steeples & Rooftop Terrace

A chic, modern space with original floors and ceilings and a breathtaking view of Shelby from the rooftop.

This level of the building has a prohibition-style bar, a smaller bathroom, and a diverse 3,000 square foot cocktail hour space. This space also acts as the bridal suite. The original floors, original tin ceiling, a pool table, and mini grand piano create an air of comfort. The scenic windows show all the steeples of First Baptist Church of Shelby. Steeples also includes access to our 800 square foot Rooftop Terrace with views of surrounding mountains. It is the tallest building in Shelby.

    Perfection!! The venue is absolutely stunning. Duncan was a great host and very easy to get in touch with when we had questions. Great energy and made sure our wedding guests were taken care of at all times. Could not ask for a better experience!!

    Our wedding at Uptown Indigo was perfect from start to finish. The facility is so much bigger than these photos suggest. My husband and I both feel that the level of service and attention to detail made the value of Uptown Indigo second to none. When we first went in for a tour, Duncan made us cocktails and spent more time with us than any other tour we had. The staff actually cared about us and we didn't just feel like a number. My favorite part was the bridal suite in the morning. They turned the whole top floor into the bridal suite and it felt like a movie when the elevator doors opened and we walked out and placed our dresses on the coat hanger. There was music playing, and mimosas set out. My mom started crying and then I started crying and I knew then that the day would be perfect. I highly recommend the Uptown Indigo venue/family and we am so thankful that we trusted our wedding day to them.

    If your looking for a venue that is going to completely cater to your needs look no further. The entire goal of Uptown Indigo is to make their clients happy. As a vendor in this industry who does the same, I appreciate seeing that level of service. Highly recommend!
