We were in the traditional wedding business under the umbrella business, Panache Catering, Inc, for over 30 years and left it because we eventually were worn out by what it had become. We set out to find an affordable, functional, and vibey venue for our wedding and we hit the jackpot with 2 Penguins. We toured several places and the event coordinators were by far the easiest to work with. They can customize the menu fully, offer a fully stocked bar, and make it so easy to request and make the day your own. We got married on the patio and it was so green and beautiful. This place is 100% for you if you aren't interested in a traditional wedding vibe, but want a great place to host your special day.

Our wedding at Balistreri was amazing. The staff was incredible to work with and made everything so easy. The wedding was in October and they were prepared to host us inside or outside right up until the last minute. We used their table flower arrangements and decorations. The flowers could not have been better if I had chosen them myself. Everyone raved about the meal; we did a buffet style. The chef even made a special vegan dish for one guest, which was so kind because we did not want to have to offer a vegan buffet because of one person. The beauty of Balistreri is you can be as controlling or as involved as you want. We were very hands off because we wanted a place that would just do it all for us ... and they did it all -- perfectly!

Where to start... your team at the Simon was absolutely amazing, from the beginning with all the details/tips on how to plan a wedding (shout out to The Simon Resource Doc); Caitlyn's and Stef’s (The Simon's In-House Planner) quick responses to all our questions and emails; to making our wedding day go by without a flaw (champagne glasses poured, cake table decorated with extra flowers, etc).When we had a hiccup with our transportation, Caitlyn and Courtney (our facilities manager) jumped right in and drove us to the David Mesa Trail and back for our photos. I’d like to mention that Caitlyn was not supposed to be working that day either but she stayed around and made sure our day went smoothly after that issue. Caitlyn and her team really care for the couples at her venue and make an effort to ensure what we envision comes into fruition. We received so many compliments from friends and family on the venue and the way our wedding was managed. Kyle and I really were able to have fun on our day because everything was so meticulously planned and coordinated. Thank you so much!

Long before cranes and automated construction equipment, these two beautiful structures were built entirely by hand. Brick by brick, shovel by shovel, Upper Larimer was crafted with passion by the early settlers who put their imprint on this growing city over a century ago.

We were very pleased with our wedding at Upper Larimer. The owners, Chad and Sonia, were professional and stayed in constant communication. They were there the day of the event to make sure everything went smoothly. We appreciated the clear outline of the contract, what was included, what we needed to provide and staying on top of the details and ensuring that the day was a success. Out of all the vendors, our venue was the best experience! Highly recommend working with them :)

The Lumber Baron Inn & Gardens is an enchanting wedding venue located in Denver, Colorado. Dating back to 1890, this mansion was romantically constructed by John Mouat as an ode to his beloved wife, Amelia. After more than a century, it now operates as a luxurious Bed and Breakfast as well as an attractive event destination. The mansion has been beautifully restored to its original floor plan. The spacious third floor ballroom gives access to the top of the turret with great views of Downtown Denver and the surrounding Potter Highland neighborhood. In the 1890s, the ballroom originally hosted teas, dances and social functions for the elite of Denver through the 1890s continuing on into the early 1900s. Behind the mansion, is our amazing spacious garden. It is an oasis in the city. Shaded by enormous narrow leafed cottonwood trees and filled with a variety of flowers, and fountains, the garden is amazing.

We were very particular about what we wanted from our wedding venue and the Lumber Baron delivered on everything. We wanted a Denver venue that you could stay at both the night before and the night after, a place in a cool neighborhood for the guests to be able to explore, with an outside area for the ceremony and reception, that was also gorgeous to take pictures in and around. The staff were super accommodating and Elaine, Joel, and Sasha are a great team. While we had a more laid-back wedding in terms of organization, flowers, etc, Sasha made everything so easy! The food was fantastic, we were able to special request specific beer that we wanted at the event, and they were awesome at setting up Sunday Brunch for the morning after for our guests as well. Could not recommend this place enough!

The Lobby Venue was a fantastic choice for our urban wedding. Christian the owner, communicated with us in a quick, direct, and pleasant manner throughout the planning process, providing helpful information that guided us to a wonderful event. The venue itself has a hip, cozy vibe while still being budget-friendly with a feeling of class. They were accommodating of our guests' dietary needs and had great suggestions that contributed to an amazing experience overall. We planned our wedding at the Oxford in less than six months, and could not have been happier with the entire process. Brittany was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and truly listened to what we wanted. She was relaxed and calm, but ALWAYS on top of it, and provided us many options as we weighed our priorities. The entire event felt so much like us. Planning and working with Brittany was made easy because she is so organized, and never imposed her own views on us (but gave great advice when we asked). We absolutely loved the accommodations offered to us and to our guests, and the service at the hotel was exemplary - all of the staff are so friendly! There were no hidden or tricky costs, and the food was absolutely phenomenal - people still talk about it over a year later! We found such ease in being able to host all in one spot - many of our guests stayed at the hotel, we held the ceremony and reception there, and transportation was super easy for everyone. Guests enjoyed the cocktail lounge after the reception, and many ate next store at the Urban Farmer for breakfast. It's a special place to go back to now - we loved our wedding and the planning process, and cannot recommend working with Brittany enough!

The University Club is a hidden gem in the Denver area for a Wedding Venue. The U Club is not only a beautiful one-stop-shop but the staff were wonderful to work with! They were all so accommodating and went above and beyond by setting up our wedding décor and supplying their own, cleaning up after the reception, supplying all food, drinks, linens, & furniture, and coordinating every detail on our big day so we didn't have to worry about anything. There was constant communication between us and the Director of Events and day-of coordinator, Jessica, so that the timeline went exactly as expected. We loved having a room to get ready in on the morning of our wedding that also kept the bridal party separated prior to the ceremony. The food and drinks were AMAZING!!! We had such a good experience for our tasting!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this venue for anyone looking for a classy, timeless venue for their wedding!!!

The Old Elm Farm was a perfect venue for our daughter's wedding and Theresa helped make sure everything went smoothly with no effort on our part. The farm is gorgeous, and the views of the Flat Irons was breathtaking especially with the fall foliage and stunning sunset. The machine shop and fire pit area provided relaxing venues for the guests before we sat for dinner in the rusticly beautiful barn with even better views to the west! The kids then moved downstairs to dance while non-dancers could relax and talk upstairs or in the machine shop. Everything was clean and comfortable, providing a perfect venue for the wedding. But we are also considering renting the space for future family events and parties. Can't say enough about the space nor Theresa who was awesome to work with! THANKS!!!

The DAC moved to it’s current location in 1892 and has expanded in the years since to now occupy the entire city block. Second only to it’s namesake amenity (our athletic facilities), the event spaces we have on premises are classic, elegant and charming to any event attendees we host! We do all catering in house and have an amazing Executive Chef that delivers incredible plated dinners and buffets! Our venue rental includes tables, chairs, chinaware, glassware, and access to setup décor, all day. Our Grand Ballroom is breathtaking with elevated ceilings, classic romantic colors, and an elegant tear drop chandelier! Our Rooftop Sundeck, open seasonally, has a permanent awning structure that shades half of the space as well as a stunning view of the Denver city skyline.

The Denver Athletic Club was an amazing venue for our wedding day. From the first time we contacted them, their communication was prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful in strategizing the best plan for our event. The venue itself had tons of beautiful, flexible spaces that allowed us plenty of space to get ready, spread out and customize the look and feel exactly how we envisioned. When the forecast called for rain on our wedding day, the staff at the Denver Athletic Club worked seamlessly with us to implement our backup plan, and they were instrumental in ensuring all of the little details were perfectly in place. We are so grateful to the team at the DAC for helping make our special day an unforgettable celebration.

The Starkey Mansion

The Starkey Mansion is 13,000 square feet on four floors. Mary and Xavier have taken the old guard mansion-style and transformed it into a modern home with a historic graciousness. The Starkey Mansion is both an event and Bridal venue with 6 beautiful theme bedrooms (9 beds) one suite for the bridal couple and others for family and friends. There is a large formal dining room, library, and living room supported by an authentic butler’s pantry, and a large commercial level kitchen. The garden is just under one acre and is graced by lovely rod iron chairs and tables a slate floor for dancing, a walkway and pedestal for the bridal couple to walk down, and always graced in summers with hibiscus, roses, wine vines, an herb garden, and a real old-world pizza oven.

Since 2020, I have stayed at the Starkey Mansion as a guest, and I have attended three black-tie and formal events that the Starkeys hosted at the mansion. Let me start with my experience at formal events. As an executive at one of the largest publicly traded utilities in North America, I attend many non-profit, political, and industry executive events. I can say without hesitation that among the best formal events I have ever attended, the ones hosted by Starkey’s were the best of the best. The meals at the Starkey’s included up to 11 courses, each course more flavorful and delicious than the previous, with perfect alcohol pairings. The service is top-notch, and the ambiance, enhanced by the beautiful décor and lovely flower arrangements, of the historic mansion makes for a memorable experience for the guests. One of the unique aspects of the Starkey Mansion is that they have multiple rooms, each special, that event guests or a wedding couple may choose to enjoy. Having stayed in one of the rooms for over a week, I can confidently say that the accommodations are at par with a 5-star rated property. Finally, about the Starkey’s themselves – they are among the most professional, honest, and nicest people I have met. The Starkey Institute is the Harvard of Household Management education with student placements with high-net-worth individuals, celebrities, and top military institutions, which speaks to the standards they keep in everything they do. So, if you are considering Starkey’s for a wedding, I say, “go for it; it’s the best and easiest decision you could make.”

My husband and I have been visiting the Botanic Gardens for years and it was the only venue we wanted for our wedding day. The wedding day was everything we had hoped for and many of our guests commented afterward how beautiful it was. We also knew ahead of time that we wanted an intimate wedding and the Woodland Mosaic and Solarium as our location. The weather was fairly warm on our date but our guests didn't feel it because the venue has lots of shade with the solarium and trees. It also felt like a more secluded space, which is something that we wanted. Our wedding date was a very popular Saturday in June, and I believe 5 other weddings were taking place at the same time! Because our location felt so private, we hardly noticed. The only exception being the "golden hour" for photography, where we were taking photos in the Japanese garden and carefully maneuvering around other couples also taking photos. If you want to be the only bride in sight, keep this in mind. We didn't care though. Because we had such a small wedding (40 people), we chose not to have a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. I would recommend one for this venue if you have a larger group or if you don't have a lot of helping hands. We had a lot of help from our families on the day of the event - helping set up things like the gifts/card table and brining in liquor in coolers. We also carried out a lot of items ourselves at the end of the night. This isn't a complaint from our end, as we expected to do some of the coordination ourselves. Just keep in mind that if you don't want to have to do anything on your wedding day, be sure to hire someone for that role. Emily was great at coordinating from the Botanic Gardens side. She gave us helpful information when needed, responded quickly, and we also met her about a month in advance to walk through the site, going over details on things like chairs and tables. In addition, you get an hour walkthrough during the day before your event. On the day of, I booked a touch-up room (included in the price). They have a limited catering list and we were happy to use Serendipity Catering for our food, bartenders, service staff, desserts and floral, which made coordinating everything a lot easier! I highly recommend working with Brie and Raven. Another perk of booking this venue is that you can bring in your own alcohol, which can save money. Negatively, it was a bit of work for our families to haul all of this in and out while in formalwear. Depending on which space you book, you are also only able to have acoustic music. We wanted (and hired) a string quartet, so this worked for us. However, if you want to dance the night away with a DJ, you would need to book elsewhere for the reception or book their indoor ballroom. The best surprise for us was a free couples membership for a year to the Botanic Gardens. We are so excited to have the opportunity to spend more time here, enjoying their many event offerings throughout the year. We can't wait to return year after year!
