The West Mountain Inn was originally built as a farmhouse in 1809. From 1880 to 1920, first a gristmill and then a lumber mill were operated on the Battenkill River at the foot of the mountain. Everyone who gives to or harvests from this land feels a special connection to it. Farmer Anthony grew up on a fruit farm in England. He moved to the United States in 1995 and took his family with him. They fell in love with what is now Monadnock Berries and the rest is history. They started as a family farm and consider their employees to be family as well.
