We recently got married at Gala 417, and the entire experience was fantastic! The venue is absolutely breathtaking, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how stunning everything was. Working with the Gala 417 team, especially Sarah and Lyndsey, made the planning process enjoyable and stress-free. They were incredibly responsive and attentive, always quick to answer questions and ensure that our wedding day vision came to life in a way that felt uniquely ours. Lyndsey, our day-of coordinator, was amazing! She handled everything flawlessly throughout the morning and early afternoon, and we truly appreciated how well-organized and professional she was. Even though there were a couple of small bumps after her departure, such as the DJ needing a reminder for speeches, and a few of our selected beer options running out earlier than expected, the staff still managed to keep everything running smoothly. To future brides, I would recommend clearly emphasizing any specific beverage preferences during your catering and blueprint meetings if you or your guests have favorites to avoid any disappointments. We were especially excited about the food after trying it at our catering meeting—it was delicious, and we even bragged to our guests about it! However, on the day of the wedding, the food served was bland and inconsistently prepared. We had requested steaks to be cooked medium, but after the fact, many of our guests shared that their filets ranged from rare to well-done, with some even mentioning gristle or fat in the cut—which shouldn’t happen with a filet. This was a bit disappointing, especially considering how much we were looking forward to the meal. Overall, Gala 417 went above and beyond to make our wedding day truly unforgettable. We would absolutely recommend this venue to future couples—between the gorgeous space and the dedication of the staff, our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. We are so grateful to the entire Gala 417 team for making our day so special!

My husband and I recently got married at Deep Creek Landing Marina and the entire process was wonderful and everything went so smoothly. The staff is super sweet and was always very prompt in responding to my emails and answering my questions (and there were a lot). The venue space was a perfect fit for our wants and needs. The bridal suite was a lovely space for my bridesmaids and I to relax and get ready for the day. The only downside was that the AC was not working in the bridal suite but it was cool enough outside that we kept a door open and were mostly comfortable while getting ready. Everything was absolutely wonderful and my husband and I will definitely recommend Deep Creek Landing Marina to anyone looking for a venue for their event.

As I write this review, I am reminded of all of the stressful thoughts a bride goes through as she plans her big day with the love of her life, and then I remember how great it was that I found the best location and person to work with to coordinate our big day! Ruthanne and her entire event staff at Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort deserve all of the love and recognition for helping to orchestrate a seamless event from start to finish. I was unfamiliar with venues in this area, and my now husband and I searched from the Outer Banks to Newport News to find something that fit our vision and price point, and Kiln Creek did all of that. For both of us, it was important that the venue gave us that "This is it" feeling! All of the venues we looked at in Suffolk, Norfolk, and VA Beach were just missing something. Then Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort popped up on my searches and I am sure glad it did! Ruthanne went out of her way to make sure all of my questions were answered and that she saw my vision properly for the big day. That is what was so amazing, that she puts every bride’s vision as a huge priority and she was there to make sure we set up times to meet to go over everything in fine detail. She even added extra special touches because she wanted to, and they were perfect. We stayed at the Lodge, ate at the Nest for dinner one evening prior to the event as well as breakfast the day after the wedding, and the rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and food was delicious! Shout out to Jordan, Christine, Crystal and all of the other amazing servers and staff on location! My husband and I had the most amazing day of our lives! All thanks to Ruthanne and her amazing team, from the chef, to the recommended vendors, who were equally awesome, for seeing my vision and making sure everything came together, perfectly! Thank you, Ruthanne and all of the staff at Kiln Creek!

This venue was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful views, lots of entertaining space, room for our closest friends and family and a gorgeous backdrop for our photos. The management was helpful and offered up amazing suggestions for food, photos and decor. We loved the interior of both homes but the main house was stunning enough to have photos taken inside too! We were pleasantly surprised by the clear views of the sound and the sweeping farm land! We only had our closest friends and family but I could see how this home could accommodate larger groups. We are planning a trip in the fall for a long weekend (Airbnb) because we enjoyed our time there so much.

Want to thank Michelle, Natalie, and their staff for pulling off a flawless company dinner at the Hounds Tale Kitchen. They made it easy by first proposing some menu ideas. Then we met with them once to get a layout of the space and brainstormed more options. Once the menu was set, we basically just showed up at the date and time of the scheduled event. What made it refreshing was that it did not feel nickel and dimed, my team didn't have to set up, or break it all down. The space is fun with huge pictures originated by a local artist, Bob Oller, filling the wall space. The colors in the space are exhilarating. We had a group of 24 and their team was able to pull together two long tables of 12 with high tops around the room. There was plenty of room to fit everyone with space to spare. Their catering served on time and the food was wonderful. The Hounds Tale Kitchen does have a projector and screen if you want to show a presentation and, basically, have your all-day event in the same space. I would definitely recommend the Hounds Tale Kitchen for your event.

The Shores of Cedar Point is situated on a large farm and is located on the North River in Mathews county Virginia. The Bride and her bridal party use part of the 1930's brick home to get ready in. The Groom and his bridal party have a separate room and is located a short walk away near the barn. The remodeled rustic barn is just a few more steps away with a fixed dance floor and twinkle lighting. We provide white padded chairs and tables for 150. We have another covered site for inclement weather. Ample parking and majestic scenery for you and your guest to enjoy as they meander down past cows and goats to the wedding site. For Saturday weddings the Friday before is blocked off so the wedding party can come in a decorate and have their rehearsal at no extra charge. The pergola was designed to capture sunset between the pillars overlooking the river, to make those everlasting memories.

Such a beautiful place for a wedding! The owner was so very helpful and everything flowed so seamlessly.

Located 7 miles from historic Colonial Williamsburg, the venue grounds are surrounded by trees providing a private, tranquil environment. The venue offers beautiful indoor and outdoor settings, as well as two wedding party dressing suites. A warming kitchen is available to accommodate any approved caterers. Tables, chairs, benches, a dance floor, and arch are included in the venue rentals. The Maine of Williamsburg team sets up the space according to your desired layout and remains onsite throughout all events to assist in creating an exceptional wedding experience for all.

The Maine of Williamsburg was a dream to wedding plan at and the staff were more than accommodating to plan with. After booking The Maine in June 2022, we finally had our picture perfect day this May 2024. The day was beautiful and all of our vendors were amazing. Tracy and her staff at The Maine are very understanding about the inconsistencies with event planning, and we’re more very helpful recommending vendors that were familiar with the space. If I chose to use an outside vendor, the staff easily worked with my preferred vendors to establish the necessary contacts and paperwork. Overall, my planning process was stress free knowing I had a gorgeous venue with a beautiful outdoor ceremony space, including microphones and speakers, and a well maintained interior for an inside reception. There was plenty of space for my guests. The bathrooms were well kept, with plenty available to accommodate my 130 guests. Also, the interior of the facilities are nice and COOL—the AC was much needed after a hot and humid spring wedding. No amount of praise for Tracy and her staff will ever feel like enough.
