Julie, Scott, and their team made our wedding day perfect. From the first site visit and throughout the planning process, they were amazing communicators. The venue has gorgeous outdoor spaces for the ceremony and cocktail reception. The indoor space is flexible for a reception with a dance floor. There are chairs for both the ceremony and reception as well as tables. We chose to have a June wedding and when the temps entered the upper 90s, we were grateful for the A/C reception space. Even better, there are two suites that the wedding party can use to make for a seamless process getting ready. We enjoyed our experience so very much. Lastly, the bathrooms there were also excellent and let’s be real, that’s a crucial component for any good party.

Let me start with District Winery is a fabulous wedding venue! For starters, it is gorgeous inside and out with a besutiful waterfront location. That alone wooed us, but the real wooing came from Latoria, the DW sales manager, who was fantastic to work with. She was incredibly patient answering all of our many questions before we signed the contract and afterwards letting us know the next steps. Another fantastic aspect of weddings at DW is that they assign you an event manager - and now this is where the big, huge thanks come into play. Samantha was absolutely incredible to work with! She was our event manager and left no detail unaccounted for. From our first email exchange to our final walkthrough and then the final, final details, she answered every question and ensured everything was set and ready to go. She is very detail oriented and the spreadsheet she gave us to complete with all of our decor, dietary restrictions, etc. ensured fantastic organization and that everyone was on the same page. Day-of, I could not believe how perfectly everything turned out with our decor, flowers, and food. The food at DW is fantastic - if you haven’t been yet for a visit - go! Everyone knows that you don’t go to a wedding and expect great food and wine, but that is not the case here at DW. After our unbelievable tasting night (which was just insanely awesome), we had to narrow down our favorites which was hard to do!One of my favorite aspects of a wedding is cocktail hour and they delighted with the passed hors d’oeuvres, food stations (including a cheese tower), and bar! Also, as my husband and I keep saying- the best money we spent was on the gorgeous and fun champagne tower! Obviously, I can’t say enough great things about our wedding at District Winery. If we could do it all over again, we would and we wouldn’t change a thing! Huge thanks to Samantha and District Winery for making our dream day come true!

They have an entire closet of decor items that you can use like lanterns, fairy lights, easels, and more! They also put me at ease with their expertise on hosting weddings and amazing team of preferred vendors.

Milton Ridge was an incredible place to get married! The beauty of the venue and the inclusive wedding options (i.e. catering, DJ, etc.) made this the absolute perfect place to say, "I do!" The getting ready suites were superb & made the day of preparation before the ceremony seamless. The chapel was so beautiful and such a great little spot off the side of 355. Our guests still comment on the simplicity of how we decorated the chapel, and how beautiful the white walls and natural light streaming in were during the ceremony. I was not sure how we'd get group photos on the property... and our photographers were able to use the beautiful stone and green areas within the venue to capture the most beautiful photos of the bride, groom and the wedding party! Guests are still RAVING about how convenient it was to walk up a few stairs to the cocktail hour AND into the reception. They marveled at the ease... park your car, attend the ceremony and then stay and party all night long until it's time to leave! The reception hall was beautiful; the buffet food was to die for; and Meghan and Brandi ensured that EVERY detail of our wedding day was accounted for, seamless and flowing without any hitch! I cannot recommend Milton Ridge enough! Thank you for making our wedding day the most memorable and BEST day of our lives! We owe it to this team, this venue and their support with planning our wedding every step of the way!

We had the most wonderful experience working with A Little Wedding Garden for our wedding. From our very first interaction, the staff was friendly, professional, and respectful. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was truly special. The area itself was absolutely beautiful, with lots of lovely floral decor that created a truly romantic atmosphere. Even though it was raining on our wedding day, they were so accommodating and let us come back another day to take photos in their gorgeous garden. They even gave me a couple of roses to take home as a sweet parting gift. I would highly recommend A Little Wedding Garden to any couple looking for a stunning, intimate wedding venue with incredible service.

We are proud and happy to help curate every wedding to our couple's romantic specifications. We include coordination, and no 'must use' vendors list so you can make your wedding personal and relaxing. We only offer totally private rentals, so you can feel like your guests are visiting you in your own home. Our pet-friendly property even lets you bring your pups. Rixey offers the most spectacular views... from the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains on one side, to the bottom of Rixey Lake on the other. Our rooftop and patio spaces make for a magical setting both at sunset and at night, and the Ballroom, complete with climate control and ADA-accessible bathrooms, means that inclement weather won't have a negative effect on your special day. The history of the house lends an air of vintage elegance, but what most of our couples love is the comfy atmosphere provided by big sofas, real fires, and the ability to curl up at the end of the night in the library with your favorite people.

We had a great experience with Rixey and for the context of this review we had a 150 person wedding a 48 person rehearsal dinner and a 120 person welcome party all at the manor. Isadora feels like your kind neighbor who lends you her home for your wedding. There is no “fine print” she is very upfront about what you can and can’t do and she really does let the world be your oyster. She always feels like you’re talking to a real person and not a sales person. She will not hound you about anything and really is good at just making sure the big parts are taken care of as you wish and then she fields the small stuff. The venue is a blank canvas. For me this was the best and worst part. The best part was we could do anything. The worst part was we could do anything and your mind changes so much in a year and a half. The home was built in the 1800s and you can use it as is, or dress it up. Rixey was SO kind to let us decorate or take down what they had in the house to let us feel like everything felt more like us. My goals/ priorities going into wedding weekend were: 1. Be with people as much as possible 2. Flexibility 3. Be able to stay on the premise/ friends and family stay with us 4. Not be limited to an xx-hour timeline for the whole weekend where all your things need to be in and out by strict times. 5. Bring own vendors & alcohol (This saved us THOUSANDS, probably 10s of thousands actually.) Rixey really got us with the “basically it’s an Airbnb with a wedding venue attached” and honestly it felt like just that. I had spreadsheets of venues from PA/ MD/DC/VA and Rixey was the only venue we could have Thursday- Sunday, bring in all our own vendors & sleep 12-18 people on the premises. (ideally, we wanted to have more people on the premises, but such place does not exist in our price range) Everywhere else that could house more people were resorts or hotels that got you stuck into vendor packages that ate up your wedding budget like it was an appetizer. Isadora brought us in gave us some vendors she used in the past and liked. Some worked very well for us, others were not our style and that’s okay! She is not offended in the least. She was able to give us , , or she does not have any incentive to push any vendor on you. She tells you who she likes and it’s up to you, if you use them. Her helpers- she has extra sets of hands, who again feel like friends and family of hers that help your wedding weekend go as planned, from filling up water jugs, to tapping beers, setting up tables, cleaning off tables, dishes, boxing or unboxing stuff, giving out tips, making our bud vases. We literally just handed her the boxes of things on Thursday and they were all set up by Friday at the rehearsal dinner. Other vendors we used here Sammys rentals for tent and some tableware Will Gralley DJ- absolutely recommend kept 3 hour dance floor going all night Audra Jones Photography- absolutely recommend see photos attached Good Earth- very fairly priced and easy to work with Classic catering- some logistical issues, but keep your ducks in a row and you can save thousands here. Transportation Central Virginia Wine tours- best price we could find in the area, flexible and easy to work with, would absolutely use again

She is calm under pressure, incredibly organized, and deeply invested in making sure every detail is executed flawlessly. Her communication was clear, her guidance was thoughtful, and her presence on the wedding day allowed everyone (especially the bride and groom) to relax and be fully present. Her team operates like a well-oiled machine. Service was seamless, transitions were smooth, and every question was handled quickly and kindly. You can tell they take enormous pride in what they do. The food was outstanding, the pacing was perfect, and the overall experience felt effortless, which we all know is the result of tremendous behind-the-scenes work. If you are considering The Boathouse at Sunday Park for your wedding or special event, do not hesitate. It is a spectacular venue supported by an extraordinary team. And SO MUCH is included in the price. We are so grateful… and will definitely be back!

Lovingston winery was so incredible for our wedding! I would go back there a million times over! Tessa is SO responsive that it’s almost unbelievable how quick she replies haha. It makes your planning a breeze! Her and Wes are so kind and helpful and will genuinely make your wedding a dream come true! You also get to stay at the farmhouse on site which is an incredible place to stay and the perfect place to get ready. They are super dog friendly which was important to us. You can use whatever catering you want and can even provide your own alcohol (with ABC license) which makes it so affordable. They also have lots of items that you can rent from them and will recommend vendors that are great. They truly made our wedding absolute perfection and we cannot wait to go back to visit Lovingston winery for many years to come! Choose them, no questions asked!!!

An enchanting venue! Just what we were looking for to host our daughter’s Quinceañera this May. Bel Air is as gorgeous in person as it looks in the pictures. Fitting our theme (enchanted forest), Bel Air has a very well-kept garden, a gorgeous path of aged trees, and of course the spacious rustic barn to compliment every aspect of our “Enchanted Quince” event. The space is gorgeous with minimal decor, or a blank canvas for creativity. Perfect to begin and end the day in one place, from hair and makeup to end of reception, and with all the magical moments in between. We used every spot of the venue and worked with Maria to get the lights to change colors during the event as we progressed through different segments and performances of the night. She was great to work with before and during the event. We are very thankful for her receptivity to our questions and ideas as we put together a very busy event. Our guests loved the beauty of the venue and vendors who were new to Bel Air were stunned by such a gorgeous place in such a convenient location. My recommendation is: book early!

It only took one visit for us to fall in love with Comus Farm. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was something special. It had snowed heavily earlier that week, so we weren't able to fully explore the property during our tour and only got to see the barn and farmhouse—but that was all it took. What truly sealed the deal, though, was Lauren and Kara. From our very first meeting, they made us feel so cared for and completely at ease. They go above and beyond to make the planning process as stress-free as possible. They always had a plan A, B, C—and probably D if needed! They were incredibly responsive, patient with my many questions and requests, and genuinely invested in making our day feel exactly the way we had envisioned. One of our favorite suggestions was having their pony with a flower basket hand out our wedding favors during cocktail hour. It was such a unique touch, and our guests still talk about it to this day, along with how beautiful the venue was. We also felt incredibly lucky to be the first couple to have the pony hand out favors—it made the experience even more special. We've been fortunate enough to experience Comus Farm in multiple seasons—a winter tour, summer save-the-date photos, and our spring wedding. Every visit has been beautiful, and the venue is truly stunning no matter the season, whether your ceremony is indoors or outdoors. Staying in the farmhouse was the perfect finishing touch. It's beautiful, thoughtfully equipped, and gave our families a wonderful place to gather before and after the wedding. Waking up the morning after on the same property where we had just celebrated one of the best days of our lives gave us one last chance to soak it all in—a memory we'll cherish forever. Lauren, Kara, and the entire Comus Farm team, thank you for giving us the wedding of our dreams. Your kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made every step of the journey unforgettable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sunnybrook Venue in Roanoke, Virginia. I live in Massachusetts, so aside from our initial visit to tour the venue, every single part of my wedding planning was done remotely over the phone, Zoom, and Google video calls. Despite that distance, everything came together more beautifully than I ever could have imagined, and so much of that credit goes to the incredible team at Sunnybrook. Emma Stanley, our wedding coordinator, was an absolute rockstar from start to finish. She was patient, organized, and truly listened to my vision while also helping me stay on budget. She made remote planning feel effortless and was always just a call or text away. On the wedding day itself, Emma was present for the entire event and kept everything running smoothly. She coordinated with all of our vendors, handled every little detail, and her team was moving flowers, tables, and chairs with total professionalism. I did about 90% of my own wedding planning as the groom and I truly believe the day would not have been nearly as beautiful without Emma guiding me through it. Sunnybrook also recently welcomed a new coordinator, Sarah, who worked alongside Emma on our wedding day and did a wonderful job as well. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner at Sunnybrook the night before the wedding and it was a fantastic way to kick off the weekend. The taco bar was a huge hit with our families and Payton was working the bar that evening and did a great job. The food was outstanding. Randy Scaggs, the owner and executive chef, is a true talent in the kitchen. We had 140 guests and I have not heard a single complaint about the food from anyone. The beef dish was a crowd favorite, I had the salmon which was fantastic, and my bride loved her chicken dish. We chose a plated meal as I am not a fan of buffets and I am so glad we did. When your guests are still talking about the food weeks later, you know you made the right choice. The open bar was equally impressive. Drinks were flowing all night and no one had to wait long. Sunnybrook has a wonderful selection and is very flexible about working with you to serve exactly what you want. And then there were the flowers! The F-L-O-W-E-R-S! The flower were honestly my favorite part of the entire day aside from my bride. I worked with Emma and Tammy Scaggs on my vision, which was 'colorful and vibrant.' I had specifically requested Allium flowers and they delivered in the most amazing way, sourcing Alliums that came all the way from Amsterdam. The florist on site, Grace Winters, was an absolute delight. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about the flowers, and when it started to rain she worked with me on the spot to adjust the setup and make everything look perfect. She was a 10 out of 10. If you are looking for a wedding venue with incredible food, a talented and caring team, and attention to every last detail, Sunnybrook is the place. The professionalism, communication, and knowledge of the owners are absolutely wonderful and they give amazing local recommendations for vendors (I found my live painter through them!). The venue itself is beautiful on its own (many of my wedding guests complimented the venue itself) and is a wonderful space to work in, both on the inside and out! I had a fairytale themed wedding that looked spectacular here. The decor room they offer saved us so much time and money and I was so amazed at what all they offered. Also because I know they are hard to find: they offer a wonderful GROOM suite as well as a bridal suite. We had so much fun here. Best venue by far!

The Old Farm Winery at Hartland was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the detailed emails to the coordinators' eagerness to help throughout the day, their communication style was spot on. The unique, farm-like, and homey atmosphere they provided was exactly what we were looking for. I worked to put together a detailed list of everything that needed to be set up, and they followed it perfectly to ensure we were running on time. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to set up the night before or run a rehearsal, but luckily it all went off without a hitch. The only minor issue was that we were told we could bring any alcohol that was purchased at a grocery store and we did. When it was served during our dollar dance - it was confiscated. I would make sure that this is more clearly communicated. Overall, the Old Farm Winery made our special day truly memorable. The weather was absolutely perfect which made the day even better

Wellington Venue & Lodging was the perfect choice for our wedding! Bre, the coordinator, was absolutely amazing and I don't know that everything would have went so smoothly without her. She was truly a blessing and was there for any text, call, or in-person meeting we needed. The space was perfect for our wedding needs, with the open area outside being ideal for guests who wanted to be outside but still close by. The only challenge was the parking, but Bre handled that flawlessly and made sure everything went off without a hitch. We are so grateful to Bre and the Wellington Venue & Lodging team for contributing to making our special day perfect!

Booking a wedding venue can be overwhelming and confusing, but Stover Hall is an easy choice. When my now husband and I toured this venue, we were so excited. It mixes barn style and winery style, with a classy yet homey feel to it. The owners/operators are incredibly kind and were happy to answer any questions we had about not only the venue, but wedding planning as well. My wedding was 04/12/26 and the weather was perfect, the cows were saying hi to our guests, and there were beautiful flowering trees near the arbor which made for picture perfect settings. Everything about this venue is top notch, from amenities to the people running it. I could go on and on. There’s not one spot on this property that doesn’t allow for beautiful pictures and the best flow. If I could get married (to the same man obviously) again and again, I wouldn’t do it anywhere else but here.
