I started off with taking millions of pictures of trees and flowers, my siblings and food when I was 12 years old - the more I did it, the more I realized I want to share the joy in photos with those around me. Suddenly, I was shooting family sessions, senior portraits, maternity, engagements, and then weddings! Oh, what a dream come true!

I'm a fine art destination wedding photographer; intensely passionate about preserving those fleeting moments, intimate details and loved ones throughout a wedding that make the day unforgettable. I believe there is a delicate balance between letting the day unfold while supporting you through the process to create a lovely collection of meaningful keepsakes. I married my now business partner and best friend of twelve years on a warm summer evening in August beneath two immense magnolia trees. We currently spend our time between an old farmhouse in the heart of wine and hunt country and Lake Norman with our dog Endo, two cats and two horses.

I was an artist before I was a photographer and that has always had an impact on my work. I aim for movement, different kinds of lighting, unique perspectives of humans & nature alike, moody atmospheres and I love all kinds of love. I have studied fine art photography long before I ever started taking portraits of other people and shooting weddings. Fine art photography was my beginning, creating conceptual and authentic art that spoke to me and told my story was what I started with and then I started blurring that line between fine art and documentary. I started documenting other people and their lives in the same way that I created my own work intended for shows and galleries. That is how I came to the style that I shoot now, still blending the two parts of my life.

I am a fine art wedding photographer and wedding planner, wife, and mother to our three sweet babies! I first fell in love with photography at an early age. I moved to New York City from a small town in Pennsylvania when I was 18 years old to study fine art and photography at Parsons School of Design. After college I was awarded a Fulbright grant to spend a year and a half photographing life on the Greek island of Kythera. When I returned to New York I decided to start a wedding photography business that would incorporate my fine art background with a photojournalistic style of shooting, and FOTOVOLIDA was born.
