The venue sits on 40 acres, full of mature oaks and beautiful landscaping. The outdoor ceremony site is held under a 400+ year old oak tree, with branches cascading down and seating to accommodate 250 guests. Guests then move seamlessly to our cocktail hour patio and inside for the reception. Our venue boasts 25 foot ceilings, with gorgeous chandeliers to bring a classy touch. The white shiplap walls, large windows & french doors create the perfect lighting for pictures & an elegant ambiance. One of our favorite personal touches is the balcony lounge, featuring a private bar, indoor balcony overlooking the dance floor, and a covered outdoor patio area. West River House is an homage to a Vermont covered bridge and houses an art collection to create a museum-like experience with breathtaking views over Lake Dunlap. A dining area under the covered bridge has 25-foot high ceilings and provides a Harry Potter feel with interiors of the bridge designed using original barn wood. Pass to the lake side of the house and there is floor-to-ceiling glass, balconies, patios, and vestiges of Mid-century Modern masterpieces. The venue features four luxurious suites on massive balconies, two kitchens to make any chef jealous and a spectacular sound system in virtually every room. A new 4100 sq ft patio cantilevers over the edge of the lake with a 40’x40’ tent included in the deal for celebrations and dining lakeside. Access to a 100’ dock brings your celebration to the water for boating, kayaking and fishing.

Texas Rock House is a labor of love. My grandparents built the house and barns in the 1940's as a working farm for their family. My mother was the youngest of seven children that grew up here. I grew up almost across the street with my mom (Joyce), daddy (Buddy), and brother (Larry). Larry and I spent almost every Friday night here - listening to his records on Grandma's old record player or sitting on the back porch swing counting the number of cars on the trains as they passed by. Whether you are looking for a memorable barn wedding venue for your special day, a unique event space for your corporate meeting, or a beautiful place to celebrate one of life's special moments, the Texas Rock House is the place to be!
