I love what I do. I found my way to professional photography in a roundabout way, having started my working career as a marine scientist and environmental educator in CA and then on Maui. After years immersed in the ocean and hundreds of hours spent underwater, I realized that I was happiest on days when I could adventure freely with a camera in hand. The drive to learn more and become a better photographer lead me back to school on the east coast, where I ended up finding a new dream career and a home and community that I love.

I am so happy I found Laura!!! Not only is she a rockstar photographer, but she is also an awesome person! The first element that sold me was that she asked questions… (what is your fiancés name, where are you from, do you have pets, etc.) AKA she is interested in knowing who you are. Photography is a form of art and it is a form of expression. Therefore, it is important to know and care about your subject. Next, she offered us an engagement session. We did not have time throughout the year, so we actually did it for fun a month or two before the wedding. This was vital, because we got to meet Laura and felt really comfortable w/ her! When we reached out she described herself as laid back, but organized. This is correct. She will ask of you all the necessary info she needs and then take it from there. Planning weddings can be stressful enough, but you should feel safe w/ Laura because she is extremely reliable and she has your back. She made us comfortable and confident. She doesn’t need much from you, so you are able to enjoy your wedding. It is crystal clear that she is passionate about what she does. She captured all the special moments of our day and I am so grateful to have found Laura!!!

Greetings! My name is Mike Cutler, born and raised in Vermont. I fell in love with theatre and film in high school and decided to pursue those passions in life, graduating from Full Sail University with a degree in Film. Filming weddings kind of fell in my lap, and ever since I covered my first wedding in 2009, I fell in love with crafting films that the couple love! Couples have said they were so happy to choose to have film as it really brings their day to life beyond the staple of photography. I hope I get the chance to work with you to help bring your day to life for years to come! :)

Awarded Best of Zola
We highly recommend Mike Cutler for your videography needs! Mike was easy to work with from the start and stayed in constant communication with us throughout the entire process (before, during & after our wedding). The day of our wedding Mike went above and beyond - making sure he captured all the shots we asked for and MORE. When our video was delivered, we were truly blown away. Mike's talent impressed our friends and family -- who continue to rave about the quality and overall feel of our wedding video. He did an excellent job at capturing the vibes of our wedding and for that we are so appreciative of the hard work and effort he put into it. Thank you again, Mike!

Where do we even start? We just returned from our honeymoon and are still reveling in the most magical wedding weekend we could have ever had. It’s all thanks to Meesha at The Wilburton Inn. From the moment we came for our initial tour, Meesha was all you could want out of a wedding planner, as well as a friend who is thoughtful, kind, smart, and more than a joy to be around. She helped with every single aspect of our planning, and we trusted here word entirely — we couldn’t have been more happy with working with her! As to the venue, there is simply no better place to have a wedding. For context, my husband and I have big families. A lot of our family members were coming in from out of town and out of the country, so our priority was to have a wedding weekend where people could be together for more than one night. This is exactly what we got with the Wilburton. Our guests were able to play tennis, go hiking, go swimming, explore Manchester and, most of all, be together in the days leading up to the actual wedding. We reserved almost all of the houses on the property for guests to stay in, which created a laidback atmosphere as most people didn’t have to worry about driving back and forth or leaving at any point. As for the wedding night, it was pure magic. The food was perfect, the service was perfect, the weather (luckily) was also perfect, which was just the cherry on top. You cannot beat the people, the venue, and THE VIEWS!!! We wish we could do it all over again, but we are looking forward to visiting The Wilburton again for many, many years to come.

Deerfield Bar & Bottle is a craft cocktail experience and fine wine shop. We pride ourselves in hand squeezed juices, house made cocktail syrups and local Vermont produce, beers and spirits wherever possible. The quality of their work was truly top-notch - they were detail-oriented and went above and beyond to ensure the happiness of both the couple and our guests. In 1904 Ned and Gwendolyn Rochester purchased the 150 acre farm and began to transform it into an elegant summer estate. After a succession of other residents the estate later became an arts and retreat center.

  • Rustic charm with elegance

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
We had the perfect wedding at the West Mountain Inn! The venue is gorgeous, accommodating, and extremely well organized, all thanks to Amie and her wonderful team. Our family and friends are still raving about the venue (and food, and alpacas) almost a year later. Amie is a dream to work with. She is responsive, makes helpful suggestions, and brings a calm to the entire process. There's a lot of flexibility offered, but we also very much appreciated guidance on how a typical package or wedding went at the Inn (they've thought of everything). You feel welcomed and at ease in this beautiful space. Looking back, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have such a helpful team be part of the venue. We can't recommend this venue enough!

James was so easy to work with and very accommodating to our desires for our wedding. He was communicative, thoughtful, and professional. We had several meetings prior to the wedding and we really appreciated how James listened to our needs, as well as introduced ideas and suggestions of his own- true collaboration! The whole experience really put our minds at ease. We chose a very rustic setting and James was able to capture the essence and feeling beautifully in his photos. He had great ideas for staged photos, and has a good eye for natural, unscripted shots. At no time did we feel nervous or overwhelmed, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the results!

Tiffany was absolutely amazing to work with! She is kind and extremely talented. I wish I could do my wedding all over again so I could work with her! She was very professional in booking, scheduling and her business contract. She gave me a schedule for make up on the wedding day so I did not have to make it. The make up she used felt natural and lasted well past the reception and still looked amazing at the after party. I do not normally wear any make up (just moisturizer), her make up was light and natural, I did not feel like it was thick or heavy at any time. 10/10 definitely book her, she will make you the most beautiful bride on your wedding day!

My wife and I were meant to get married in 2020 in Wales, but the pandemic squashed our plans, years in the making. We were devastated. It was quickly made clear that an international wedding was out of the question for the foreseeable future, so we redirected our search closer to home. After a few months of truly disheartening searching, we were directed towards Scott Farm. Really as soon as we pulled into the parking lot we were in love. It is nestled inside of rolling hills and the land is covered in beautiful orchards and picturesque white buildings. It was like a scene out of a movie--and it really was, as Good Will Hunting was filmed there! The process of planning the wedding with the staff at Scott Farm was truly seamless. Simon was kind, patient, and helpful, leading us through all the specifications and details of the site, and making himself available if we ever had any questions or concerns. And Jaja was a rock star--she went above and beyond in every aspect of her duties, especially on the wedding day. Without her calm and confident presence, trouble shooting problems and reassuring an anxious bride and groom, the day would not have gone so perfectly. I can't say enough about how supportive, pleasant, and wonderful everyone is at Scott Farm. If you are planning a wedding or an event of any kind, do it at Scott Farm!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.8

  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Saxtons River, VT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
Because of all the florals already there due to the nature of the venue, and all the florals and plants they filled in, I didn’t feel the need to have a ton of florals, so I did them myself! I found Flower Moxie here on Zola and they were so great! If you are thinking about DIY’ing your florals, I would definitely recommend looking into Flower Moxie! They have some set packages you can chose from, but I upgraded to the highest personalized package and it was so worth it. I got to have a phone call with the florist and they put together a custom package, and they definitely killed it, the flowers were exactly what I had in mind. There were so many resources and they went through everything so well I felt so prepared and we had almost no issues putting all the florals together. All of our florals still looked fresh and beautiful on our wedding day, and some of the florals in our arch arrangements lasted WEEKS. A word of caution though: it is definitely a lot of work, so just ensure that you have enough time in town before your wedding (i.e. you can’t fly in the day before your ceremony, if you are traveling to that location) and enough people to help you (for putting together, transporting and anything day of). I actually really enjoyed getting to do my florals myself, and would highly recommend if you are creative and DIYing your wedding!

Underfloor MUSIC was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! From the moment we connected with Kyle, their communication was quick and efficient, which was so helpful as we were navigating a venue change from New York to Massachusetts. The travel fee they charged for the move was very reasonable, and we were thrilled to have them there to keep the energy high all night long. Underfloor MUSIC brought the absolute best energy and kept the dance floor packed the entire celebration. They played the perfect combinations of songs that had our guests of all ages dancing the night away. Holly was immediately responsive & answered all our questions in detail. She was incredible at our engagement shoot & had even looked up several nearby parks to choose from, & looked at great locations within the 1 we chose to shoot our engagement photos. I was able to change outfits & my fiance/now husband & I felt totally comfortable despite it being our 1st time having professional photography focused on us with her down to earth & direct communication style. Our photos turned out gorgeous & classic. On our wedding day, we had a lot of unexpected things happen like wind & rain at our outdoor ceremony & photography session, but she handled it all with grace & got our photos done beautifully & timely with our wedding party & immediate family as we wanted. We did some outdoor portrait photos & got some adorable ones inside our bridal suite. It was relieving to see her there every step of our 8 hours we hired her for, including our pivotal dances, cake cutting, dancing, etc. She even went above & beyond her job by stepping in several times in several ways when our coordinator was completely forgetful & careless. She communicated with my Mom who was very high strung & quick tempered beautifully. My husband & I literally cannot thank her enough for how beautifully & peacefully she took care of our photos & us on our our wedding. Would recommend her 10x over.

Hi, I’m Isaac. In my world, light is everything. The cool ambient hues at dawn, hinting at what the day may bring. Golden sun rays catching particles through a tree as friends gathers to celebrate. A Cotton candy sunset peppered by patio string-lights as a DJ plays my favorite song. We all have timeless memories logged in our minds. For me, they are based in a language of light. As a wedding photographer, this deep connection to special lighting helps me produce dynamic visual stories of romance, personality and beauty.

Awarded Best of Zola
A few things that stood out the most about Isaac were how responsive he was, how he was able to accommodate to our budget, and how he took pictures from angles and views that turned out great on the photos. As a couple with demanding careers, I much appreciated how quickly Isaac was with replying to emails. We had a pretty tight budget, and Isaac was able to offer us a package that landed pretty close to our budget and only had the items that we needed the most (mini engagement photoshoot for the website and wedding day). Our ask for him was to get some candid shots as we feel pretty awkward in front of the camera. I personally think that the wedding day pictures came out more naturally because of the setting being surrounded with friends and families, and Isaac and Sushen did a great job capturing the candid moments beautifully. Isaac even had an idea for me to pose by climbing up a wooden stair ladder for a shot that I honestly wasn't sure how it was going to turn out while doing it, but it ended up turning out beautiful and magazine-like in addition to other ones that he asked us to pose for. Isaac put together a behind the scenes video that also showed the reactions of guests to our photo place cards before we had entered the reception area, and this was lovely in that we got to see our guests' reactions that we weren't able to see.

Grace is an amazing photographer! If I could give her 10 stars I absolutely would. She was amazing working with both of our crazy families and from the very beginning I knew that she’d do a great job capturing the special moments of our special day. She worked with everyone and did a great job explaining what everyone needed to do to get a perfect shot. She also was absolutely wonderful with our 2 year old son who would’ve climbed in the car and went home with her if he could. If I could do it all over again I would definitely always pick Grace to shoot our wedding! She was an amazing addition to the day and we are so thankful that we found her.
