I love what I do. I found my way to professional photography in a roundabout way, having started my working career as a marine scientist and environmental educator in CA and then on Maui. After years immersed in the ocean and hundreds of hours spent underwater, I realized that I was happiest on days when I could adventure freely with a camera in hand. The drive to learn more and become a better photographer lead me back to school on the east coast, where I ended up finding a new dream career and a home and community that I love.

Laura was an absolute dream to work with. Throughout all the ups and downs of a DIY wedding (during COVID, no less), she was an unfailingly kind, warm, organized, and supportive presence. Emailing back and forth with her immediately felt like a collaboration with an old friend, and completing an included engagement session before our wedding was the perfect opportunity to test out which poses felt most natural. At many weddings we have been to, the photographer is either working around the edges or constantly orchestrating complex formal portraits. Laura, however, was able to achieve an ideal mix of formal and candid shots that reflected our relaxed celebration and allowed us to be fully present with our guests throughout the day. She is uniquely thoughtful in her process, including asking us about family dynamics and personalities, and that attention to detail is reflected in the wonderful authenticity and ease captured in our photos. Last but not least, Laura is incredibly fun! She made us laugh and kept us present in the moment, and our guests and families were equally impressed and pleased to work with her. We cannot recommend her more highly. If she is available for your wedding, book her!

Greetings! My name is Mike Cutler, born and raised in Vermont. I fell in love with theatre and film in high school and decided to pursue those passions in life, graduating from Full Sail University with a degree in Film. Filming weddings kind of fell in my lap, and ever since I covered my first wedding in 2009, I fell in love with crafting films that the couple love! Couples have said they were so happy to choose to have film as it really brings their day to life beyond the staple of photography. I hope I get the chance to work with you to help bring your day to life for years to come! :)

Today is our three month wedding anniversary and we are still talking about how perfect our wedding was, with a huge part of that due to The Hermitage Inn. The team at The Hermitage made the entire process easy, calming and fun and made the weekend lovely, memorable and perfect. Gina was with us from moment one and was a constant professional who was warm, non-judgemental and available whenever needed. She made sure the day of went on without a hitch and took care of all the big and small details, making sure we didn’t need to worry about anything. I was very specific about wanting to start hair and make up later in the day and Gina adjusted the schedule and made sure I had my morning to myself. During the weekend Mercer, Jan, Sarah, Katia and so many others, along with Gina, made it the best weekend with all of our guests saying the same thing. From the rehearsal dinner, breakfasts in the morning, bar service and, of course, the big event, it was all excellent, personal and thoughtful. Location and venue wise The Hermitage was again, perfect. The property and inn are beautiful, luxurious and luscious. It was incredible to have the entire inn to ourselves with our closest family and friends. The carriage house was a perfect home base to not only get ready in but to have drinks at and to have a little welcome event for just those staying at the inn on Thursday night. I have pictures of my parents and aunts and uncles sitting on the porch telling stories which I will cherish forever. The grounds were beautiful for the wedding and even though the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were at the same venue- each part of the weekend felt unique and intentional as the venue offers so many options. Its been fun to look at the other weddings that have happened since ours on Instagram because not one of them have looked similar. That must be the magic of The Hermitage Inn and Gina, as they truly allow you to bring your own wedding to life. Can’t wait to come back for a weekend and reminisce. My aunts and parents also fell in love with the venue and are planning a trip up the winter.

Deerfield Bar & Bottle

5.0

  • Bar services & beverages

Deerfield Bar & Bottle is a craft cocktail experience and fine wine shop. We pride ourselves in hand squeezed juices, house made cocktail syrups and local Vermont produce, beers and spirits wherever possible. We carefully select each bottle of wine on our shelves from, mostly, small producers around the world while keeping those tried and true producers on the shelves as well.

Lindsay and John did a fabulous job for my daughter’s rehearsal dinner and wedding. They were incredibly professional, communicated well, and clearly very knowledgeable and intuitive about how to make both events run smoothly. Highly recommend.

  • Best for events with big guest lists

We had the perfect wedding at the West Mountain Inn! The venue is gorgeous, accommodating, and extremely well organized, all thanks to Amie and her wonderful team. Our family and friends are still raving about the venue (and food, and alpacas) almost a year later. Amie is a dream to work with. She is responsive, makes helpful suggestions, and brings a calm to the entire process. There's a lot of flexibility offered, but we also very much appreciated guidance on how a typical package or wedding went at the Inn (they've thought of everything). You feel welcomed and at ease in this beautiful space. Looking back, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have such a helpful team be part of the venue. We can't recommend this venue enough!

James gives just enough direction to make the photos look good, without arranging you into stuffy, formal poses. He easily follows the energy of the day, capturing both the connection between you & your partner, and the excitement of your guests. The make up she used felt natural and lasted well past the reception and still looked amazing at the after party. I do not normally wear any make up (just moisturizer), her make up was light and natural, I did not feel like it was thick or heavy at any time. 10/10 definitely book her, she will make you the most beautiful bride on your wedding day!

My wife and I were meant to get married in 2020 in Wales, but the pandemic squashed our plans, years in the making. We were devastated. It was quickly made clear that an international wedding was out of the question for the foreseeable future, so we redirected our search closer to home. After a few months of truly disheartening searching, we were directed towards Scott Farm. Really as soon as we pulled into the parking lot we were in love. It is nestled inside of rolling hills and the land is covered in beautiful orchards and picturesque white buildings. It was like a scene out of a movie--and it really was, as Good Will Hunting was filmed there! The process of planning the wedding with the staff at Scott Farm was truly seamless. Simon was kind, patient, and helpful, leading us through all the specifications and details of the site, and making himself available if we ever had any questions or concerns. And Jaja was a rock star--she went above and beyond in every aspect of her duties, especially on the wedding day. Without her calm and confident presence, trouble shooting problems and reassuring an anxious bride and groom, the day would not have gone so perfectly. I can't say enough about how supportive, pleasant, and wonderful everyone is at Scott Farm. If you are planning a wedding or an event of any kind, do it at Scott Farm!

  • Serves Marlboro, VT

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

Awarded Best of Zola
The process of using something borrowed blooms was so easy. I loved that the flowers could be reused and that I wasn't going to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would just be thrown away! They included the return label in the box with the flowers they shipped out, which was great because we did not have a printer at our destination wedding. All of our flowers were fake because I was also worried about the heat wilting our flowers. I only rented bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and a dog collar- but I wish I had rented my centerpieces as well! Amazing experience with SBB all around!
