Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. In fact, the original bar that John Wayne used to entertain his Hollywood friends is now the main ballroom's focal point and ready for you to use. Outside catering and bar services are certainly allowed, or you are welcome to customize your own personal menu with our in house private chef.
