About this venue

Surrounded by acres of natural woodlands, Coto Valley Country Club's vast outdoor spaces are undoubtedly one of its celebrated highlights. Lined with flowering trees, our grand lawn features a romantic gazebo that makes the perfect backdrop for wedding ceremonies. Guests are served cocktails and appetizers on the patio, with dinner, dancing, and festivities in the John Wayne Ballroom. In fact, the original bar that John Wayne used to entertain his Hollywood friends is now the main ballroom's focal point and ready for you to use. Outside catering and bar services are certainly allowed, or you are welcome to customize your own personal menu with our in house private chef.

John Wayne Ballroom

The original bar that John Wayne used to entertain his Hollywood friends is now the main ballroom's focal point and ready for you to use.

This space features 4,000 square feet of rustic vaulted ceilings, chandeliers, and ample room for both a seated dinner and a dance floor. Guests are served cocktails and appetizers on the patio, with dinner, dancing, and festivities in the John Wayne Ballroom. As the party ensues, enjoy the warmth of the fireplace on the back patio - maybe with a s'more or two!

    am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with Coto Valley Country Club regarding their failure to honor our wedding booking. Despite having a confirmed reservation and having paid a substantial deposit, my special day was ruined due to the venue's double booking error. The news of the cancellation was delivered to me more than three months after I signed the contract with little to no empathy or consideration for the emotional distress this caused. It was a devastating blow to my fiancé and I, as we had spent months planning and dreaming of our wedding day. The stress and chaos of having to find a new venue on such short notice were overwhelming. Furthermore, the lack of transparency and accountability from Coto Valley Country Club has been disheartening. While I understand that mistakes can happen, the way this situation was handled was unacceptable. The venue should have taken full responsibility for their error and made every effort to rectify the situation. I would strongly advise anyone considering Coto Valley Country Club for their wedding to proceed with extreme caution. Their lack of reliability and professionalism has left me and my fiancé with a lasting negative impression.

    THEY DOUBLE BOOKED US! Only to let us know over 3 MONTHS LATER! Within those 3 months we had all of our vendors booked with non refundable deposits, as well as the "Save the Date" cards we sent out to all of our guests to this venue. After 3 months of heavy planning, the manager, Angela, simply let us know via email that Coto Valley Country Club was breaching our contract because they had double booked us. To mitigate the situation, we demanded that they would find us a replacement venue, but they decided to relinquish responsibility because they gave us our deposit back. DAMAGE ALREADY DONE! Putting aside all the lost time, we were scrambling to find the leftover venues that would still have our wedding date open. Even worse, finding a new venue that would fit with our already booked vendors cost us significantly more money. Long story short, we sent them a settlement letter written by our lawyer to pay for our financial damages but they ignored it. We had no other choice but to take it to small claims court to get justice.

    I love working with everyone at Coto Valley Country Club. This venue is a perfect place! It's a joy to work here and I am amazed at how loving this venue is towards their couples. I've had the privilege of photographing many weddings here, big and small. The venue photographs beautifully and the staff works hard to ensure couples have the best day. I couldn't recommend this venue more!
