Forty Nine South is a wedding venue located in Jackson, Michigan, that serves the surrounding region. This former school serves as an historic, vintage banquet hall where couples can celebrate their special day with friends and family.

Built-in 1848, the wedding barn was originally a working farm, used as a hay and milking barn on the Briggs family 500-acre farm. Once the family moved on, however, the property slowly fell into disrepair, including the barn. Luckily, right away Joel had an amazing vision for what could be the ideal spot, he saw the potential like no other for a unique Irish Hills Wedding location and was happy to buy the property in 2017. Since then, many hours and much effort have gone into creating the perfect space for weddings. As one of Michigan’s Premier Wedding Venues, this venue is a great choice!

Our private event space features a fully-staffed bar with eight taps (including one nitro tap), and groups up to 65 seated with an additional space of 45 seats on the patio. It’s located on the second story of our facility and has two walls of windows, east and south-facing, looking out over the city of Grand Rapids. There is also a two-sided patio that will provide additional space during the warmer months. The room is outfitted with three large flat-screen televisions and a retractable projector screen for PowerPoint or video presentations. There will also be a podium with a microphone for any speeches or group announcements. The Centennial Room can be booked in 3-hour minimum blocks. Additional time can be added at a price per-hour charge if available.

Rental price includes day before event to set up, event day and day after to tear down. Tables and chairs for 130 provided. Access to museum property for ceremony and pictures. Red Ribbon Hall is a historic landmark building located in the heart of Eaton Rapids! Dating back to 1878, the building was affiliated with the "Red Ribbon Movement". The interior has recently undergone some refreshing renovations to help bring a modern feel to the historic building. There are three different areas available for utilization: the upstairs, downstairs, and an outside location. The upstairs houses a theater styled hall, a bridal suite, a grooms room, and two restrooms. The theater styled hall consists of a stage lining the back wall and elevated theater style seating along the side walls. The downstairs houses male & female restrooms, a kitchen available for catering, and a reception hall. Round tables and chairs are provided along with their set up and tear down. There is also an outside location available upon request. An individual will be on-site for supervision. Our Full weekend rental is our most popular and is a rental from Friday at noon until Sunday at noon. Yes, we only host one wedding a weekend-it take the stress away! This time can be used however you desire. We are not vendor picky, you pick all of your own vendors. We do require a licensed bartender to serve all alcohol and we also require a one day special event insurance. We have 2 barns, one for the ceremony and the other for receptions. On site bathrooms, dressing rooms, firepit area as well as an outside bar. All tables and chairs are provided as well as wood high back chairs for head table. We also offer many rental items for decoration, centerpieces etc. 120 person capacity. We do require a deposit of $800 to book your date the remainder is structured on a payment plan. The house is available for a “Wedding Week”, checking in on Thursday and checking out on Sunday . This allows time for decorating, organizing, and rehearsal dinner.
