Where can I park? / Is parking free?

Visitors are welcome to park anywhere in the Flint Cultural Center. All parking lots are free of charge. For Longway Planetarium, visitors are able to park in the lot directly in front of the building. Parking is also available behind the building.

What is the starting site fee for weddings?

Accepted Answer

Ceremonies are a flat rate of $750.00. This includes a one hour ceremony, a one hour rehearsal and dressing rooms for the bridal party. Customized effects are also included in the package. We are able to work within most budgets, and can build a custom event package to meet your needs.

What types of packages are available?

Wedding Ceremonies are a flat $750.00 Reception packages are available for 100-130 guests, charged per person based on 4 or 6-hour receptions. Specialty pricing available for receptions fewer than 50 guests. Custom packages are available.

What is the maximum capacity of your venue?

What is included in your full service package?

Accepted Answer

Set Up and Take Down, Tables and Chairs, Décor and Linen Removal, Security Service, Custodial Service, One year membership to Longway Planetarium and Sloan Museum.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If Licensor receives written notice of cancellation from Licensee 30 days in advance of the first date listed as the event date, Licensee shall forfeit 50% of the payment on the primary fee paid by Licensee as well as any costs incurred by Licensor in conjunction with this event.

Do you have rules for Caterers

We have a list of approved caterers available upon request. If your caterer is not on the list have them contact the events coordinator. Caterers are required to handle their own setup and tear down. Longway does not have full kitchen capabilities. We do, however, offer rooms for caterers to use for food preparation.

How many hours are included in our booking?

Wedding Ceremonies come with one hour ceremonies and a one hour rehearsal. Reception Packages are either four or six hours.

What is your peak season?

We do not have a peak season, but due to the nature of our venue we are for public and education purposes first, and a place for private gathering second. The buildings’ hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Mon – Fri, and 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sat - Sun. Please be advised, if you are having an event during these hours, there may be some interaction with public patrons.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

No due to the nature of our venue all alcohol must be provided by a licensed caterer. Documentation is required.
