Our Spring is lush and green (last weekend of April thru mid-July). Summer is generally temperate (late July to August), and in Fall, the colors are eye-catching (September thru mid-November). Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. Later on, Wood would operate B&L Liquor on the main street. The remains of W's garage are still very apparent on the property today, along with his goat shed & stables. We have one of the last intact water towers in the historic district. The property has been preserved to reflect the period in which it was built. The traditional Mexican Palenque was an arena that hosted many large parties and even battles that date back to a Mayan civilization that still stands today in Chiapas, Mexico. El Adobe added the Palenque Room to match this Mexican event space concept and host larger parties of its own. Weddings had long since been taking place at El Adobe but with the new Palenque Room and Chapel location in the adjacent Garden, it gave guests a dedicated space to host a grand wedding celebration with up to 250 guests in attendance. One of the most well-known features of this room is the retractable ceiling that opens up almost 40ft across to expose the skies above San Juan Capistrano. The room and its Garden have evolved over time adding a full bar of its own and spacious restrooms to accommodate the larger guest count. We have two venues: Island: Lake Cuyamaca has several scenic, natural sites suitable for small outdoor weddings. Our staff would be happy to show you different locations that may work for you, and we will do anything else we can to help you make this a memorable day. One very important thing to remember - Lake Cuyamaca is in the mountains and weather extremes can happen. Although the Julian area does not normally get a lot of snow, it does snow occasionally. Because of this, we do not recommend having your outdoor wedding here between the months of November and April. Ole Firehouse: The Firehouse is a newly renovated former fire station with a 40' x 60' event room, the perfect space for both weddings and receptions. Amenities include the venue room, a kitchen and restrooms, an outdoor patio area, a large, shaded deck, and an upstairs bridal dressing room. It has a 78 person indoor capacity with the Firehouse bay doors closed and a 120 person capacity when they are open.

The Whispering Pines Terrace is a short stroll down a forest path and over a creek can accommodate up to 250 people from May to October. Skypark Weddings is located in the forest surrounding the historic Santa’s Village Property which is now known as SkyPark.
