The Clark’s Lakeside

5.0

Homer, MI
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $1,800

We began our journey in 2015 with a dusty gravel pit and vision for a new home. The gem was the stunning 30 acre crystal clear lake. After purchasing the property we found ourselves hosting church activities and work functions as people truly loved being here. Slowly, we began adding amenities to the property. In 2020 one of our daughters got engaged. As she began looking for a venue to host her wedding we came to realize that the perfect spot was right in front of us. We wanted it to be a very special place and we went to work to create a beautiful wedding venue. There are many opportunities on the property for one of a kind pictures. There are two picturesque options in front of the lake for the service and a new reception building that can seat up to 200 guests. With a 5 acre campus larger weddings can be accommodated with tent rental.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Multiple event spaces
  • Natural elegance with open spaces

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Does not allow pets
  • Additional event staff required
We had an impeccably amazing experience with the Clark’s and their venue for our daughter’s wedding. From the first time we met them, Todd and Tammy were gracious, accommodating, and a pleasure to deal with. They are an amazing Christian couple who shares their beautiful property selflessly with others. They ensured we had everything we needed and that all of our questions were answered. They were reliable, kind and helpful every step of the way up until we left the premises after everything was over. The venue is so peaceful and beautiful, a perfect place to experience the joy, hope and love that weddings are all about. Highly recommend The Clark’s Lakeside!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!

My husband nor I are from Michigan (from the Chicagoland area) and everyone kept asking us "why Michigan?" The moment they walked in, they felt the same feeling I did when I first toured the venue. It is beautiful, unique, personal and was everything and more that I could have hoped for. Our wedding as at the end of June and we were very fortunate that the rain held off and the temperature/humidity ended up being perfect. We had about 185 guests attend the wedding and I think everyone was too stunned by the venue to even care about the drizzle of rain that was happening. Not to mention, Amelia and her staff are absolutely amazing from the very beginning to the very end.

I could not have envisioned a more perfect place for our wedding reception than Stonebridge. This is a stunning venue! We had our reception at Stonebridge on Friday, 5/31/24. Kim helped us coordinate everything from the beginning and made everything so easy. Stonebridge is great because it includes catering, lots of decor, and ceremony too, though we had our ceremony elsewhere. Having catering through the venue made it that much easier because we didn't have to look for another vendor for this. The outdoor cocktail hour space was beautiful and perfect. Having the outdoor tiki bar in addition to the indoor bar helped move the line along. We had buffet style dinner, and we got so many compliments on our food. The garlic mashed potatoes and bronzed salmon with capers were the clear winners, but everything was so good. The event managers of the day, Sarah and Hannah, were amazing. They checked in on my husband and I frequently to make sure we always had what we needed, and brought us so much peace of mind! If anything went wrong, I don't know about it, because they along with Kim ensured that everything was taken care of. All decorations supplied by Stonebridge were set up and taken down for us at no extra cost, but we also opted to pay a little extra to have Stonebridge's staff clean up the decorations that we brought, which eased a lot of the burden on our families. This was 100% worth every penny. Everything got cleaned up that night and they took great care of our things so nothing was damaged. They also assisted in setting up our donut table shown in one of the attached photos! Pictures don't do this beautiful place justice but hopefully you can get an idea :)

They were even able to help us find a DJ who was amazing, before they helped us I was so worried about a DJ, so to have them be able to help, was truly amazing. We even at the end decided to upgrade the lighting, which was a great choice. Everything looked great and went so smoothly and we and our guest had a blast. My best friend had her reception there over 10 years and she recommend them and I would also highly recommend Plymouth Manor. If there is another life event in our life that we would need to host, I would definitely go back to Plymouth Manor.

I cannot even express how lucky we were to call Timberlee Hills our wedding venue. Jessie and her team ran a flawless operation, and she made the whole planning process as stress-free as possible. Communication was speedy and very polite, and Jessie was happy to answer all my hundreds of questions (thanks girl, I appreciate you 3). The venue is truly a dream. The ceremony overlooking a valley of trees feels like something out of a fairytale, and the interior is so beautifully designed. While we didn't need to use it ourselves, I was also impressed that the covered ceremony option in the event of rain was just out on their covered patio, which would have still provided a beautiful outlook of the trees if we needed to have it there. The day of our wedding was blissfully stress free, thanks to the hard work of Madison and Jessie. Madison did an excellent job helping us get everything arranged and decorated, the timing for our ceremony was perfect, and our guests were very well taken care of. We received several compliments on both the venue and the friendly staff. The bar team also did an amazing job! Both myself and my husband were topped off on any drinks we wanted without even having to leave our sweetheart table. I could ramble on for much longer about how wonderful this place is, but I will wrap it up here and just say that if you're thinking of having your wedding here, do it. It's beautiful, everyone went above and beyond, and we'll remember it fondly for the rest of our lives.

Sara and Megan went above and beyond to make sure that our day was absolutely perfect for us and helped us through every step of the wedding planning process. Our family and friends were simply in awe of the ceremony location and reception space, every aspect of the venue is stunning and we will never regret choosing to get married at the Northern Haus. My husband and I had our wedding at Bayview in July and could not have been happier! We searched just about every venue in Northern Michigan and Bayview was unlike any other - we truly believe that this will be the most popular venue in Northern Michigan in a few years. We had so many guests say it was the most beautiful venue they had ever been at and some compared it to the Catalina Wine Mixer (IYKYK). Rose was a pleasure to work with and you could feel her passion come through. She just wanted us to have the best day possible and did everything she could to make that happen!! Rose keeps special plants that attract butterflies around the venue site and during our ceremony we had 5 flying around - it was so special. Words cannot even describe the beauty of this place. There was a special ‘shack’ (updated, of course) next to a pond where my husband and his groomsmen got ready and fished before the ceremony! There is a glammed out barn that the bridesmaids hung out in before the ceremony. They even have a special area in the cherry groves with string lights that is perfect for a first look. Our wedding was better than our wildest dreams. Thank you Rose and the entire Bayview team for making our wedding the most perfect day of our lives! 10000/10

If there is any part of you questioning whether or not this venue is right for you, trust me, IT IS!!!! The staff was attentive, responsive, kind, and patient. They had no problem guiding us through every detail with genuine care and expertise. The venue itself is truly idyllic, comfortable, and breathtaking...while still being a rockin' good party. We opted for the wedding weekend package and had our ceremony in front of the mulberry tree. I had every experience I hoped for, it felt like 5 weddings in 1. They were able to make a 150 person wedding feel intimate. It was incredible. There was a POPPING dance floor, frolicking in the gardens during golden hour, and relaxing by the bonfire/ hot tub with our party after the other guests left. The atmosphere of the venue literally felt like healing happened for everyone there. It was so easy to talk to and hang out with every guest, and our friends and family felt safe. We had caterers from different businesses for both the rehearsal and the day of, and used recommended vendors from the site, all of which were stellar. Tons of hotels nearby for visiting family, a bunch of ours went to the Casino afterwards. Decide your wedding day based on this venue's availability, i'm so serious. THANK YOU OTL!!! Forever grateful.

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists

Our planner recommended The Community House after I mentioned liking another place because it was, well, community centered! The Community House is a nonprofit that serves as a venue but also has programs for the community, such as the Early Childhood Center. Besides that, another appeal to us was how good the food sounded, and I am telling you, we were right. Everyone raved about the food! We had beef short rib, vegetarian pappardelle, and chicken confit. The latter was extra, but it was worth it and honestly one of the top selling points on the menu for us. I am so happy about this, because a lot of wedding food is…meh. The other pro for us was the layout. We really wanted a setup that encouraged people to dance, and this was perfect with the dance floor, stage, and tables surrounding it. This proved to be true, and if it didn't throughout the night, it was because people were tired or not into the songs! The only constructive feedback I have for TCH is on communication. It's OK if you don't respond ASAP, but when we are planning a wedding, and paying …a week is a little long. The communication did improve once we started talking to another employee, however, so maybe it just varies person to person. One request for TCH: if possible it would be great to have an electronic payment portal that does not charge fees. It was a little scary to send large sums of money using a check via USPS.

The Grain Loft is the perfect space with good bones to create an unforgettable wedding. It is located directly across from Lake Michigan and sits on 15 acres of land with natural beauty and lush gardens. The Grain Loft is a large open space with floor-to-ceiling windows, remodeled bathrooms and views of the garden. It has exposed ductwork, barn wood beams, soaring ceiling heights and cement floors. The main building also features an outdoor patio, beautiful bar, and kitchen. The second floor serves as additional seating/entertaining area and a private suite. Around the loft there are several outdoor cottages that can be used for many different functions including food stations and more. The Grain Loft is a wedding and event venue in Algoma, Wisconsin. The Grain Loft is the essence of industrial elegance and offers a modern edgy vibe and beautiful views for all your events.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Limited cleanup and setup services
  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
We loved having our wedding at The Grain Loft. The property is beautiful and it is kept in pristine condition. The ease of having the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dance all at one place made the wedding far less stressful. There was plenty of space for the kids to play outside, have yard games set up, walk around and enjoy the landscape, or hang out on the patio and chat. Guests were in awe of the beauty of the property. We also loved spending the weekend in Algoma. So many hidden gems. Thursday we had our rehearsal dinner at Three Eleven Bar & Bistro, which was excellent. Friday we had a "welcome event," for guests staying the weekend, at Son's of Skaliwags where we hosted a traditional southern shrimp boil. We had so many compliments on the food! The wedding was Saturday and on Sunday we met friends and family Smashed on the Rocks for one of their massive bloody marys! It was a perfect weekend and we can't wait to spend more time in Algoma (the gateway to Door County & a best kept secret)! Couple of things I was not a huge fan off... The venues' wedding coordinator was difficult to work with at times. Her communication style was abrasive when challenged or asked for further clarifying details. For example, my wedding planner asked for a bottle of water (prior to when the open bar started) during the preparations, and she was told she would have to purchase it. Mind you, we paid for an open bar for the duration of the entire event, costing us over 6,000.00... and they couldn't give the wedding coordinator a bottle of water. Come on now, that's just tacky and poor customer service. Another thing worth mentioning.... There is no bathroom off of the bridal suite upstairs. Therefore if the bride needs to use the bathroom before the wedding, you have to walk into the main area where guests are gathered. Not ideal, but certainly not a deal breaker. Incidentals. I was required to give my credit card for "incidentals" that would automatically be charged to my card at the end of the night. I don't think this is appropriate. If there are incidentals, I should be allowed to review a bill of such items and then make the payment following any necessary discussion. Thankfully we were not billed for any incidentals, but if a guest had broke something, I was told I would have been automatically charged.
