Let me start by saying my wedding was a tall order! I wanted a wedding that was gothic, elegant, Victorian-inspired, dark, and moody. We were going for gothic without it being “scare grandma” gothic! And to make it a step harder, our wedding was in a very modern looking building in Manhattan. And to make it even one step harder, my husband and I are based in Ireland. Lauren completely understood my vision and designed the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen. We had so many friends and family approach us about how beautiful the decor was, and even multiple members of staff and various vendors saying they have never seen the venue look so amazing. Her attention to detail is beyond phenomenal and everything is done with such thoughtfulness and due diligence. Lauren was so organised throughout the entire wedding planning process. She helped us look for the best vendors, she went to view different tablecloth landscapes and furniture when we couldn’t (again, we live abroad!) and kept me up to date every step of the way without bombarding us so we could continue to regulate life outside of wedding planning. I have recommended Lauren multiple times to newly engaged friends, and will continue to recommend City and Terrace in the future! You truly cannot get a better wedding planner who listens to the couples’ wants and needs, understands, and most importantly keeps you calm and organised through the chaotic planning process! Andy is a true gem of a soul! Her attention to detail, and attunement to the needs of her clients is beyond amazing. She is incredibly organized and can help even the most clueless, frazzled, and ADHD-riddened couple pull together a beautiful and unique event. Our event had multiple challenges. 1. As mentioned, my husband and I are neurodivergent. This causes us to get overwhelmed easily and can quickly make a simple task incredibly difficult. This also makes it very hard for us to make decisions (I know, easily nightmare clients). Andy never made us feel ashamed for who we are or our disabilities. Instead, sh made things flow effortlessly. She planned things in a way for us to enjoy our day and have time to not get overstimulated/overwhelmed. Made sure we got to actually eat the delicious food we paid for. Hey, weddings are expensive- she made sure we could actually enjoy ours! 2. We have two young children that were a huge part of our ceremony. Andy was kind, patient, and understanding. I never felt rushed or pressured with a timeline. Children are unpredictable and we planned for just that. Andy had perfect suggestions to make things easier for our family to enjoy the day. Above and beyond! 3. Our ceremony was not traditional in any way. The requirements were different and followed a pagan style ritual that could have thrown any seasoned event specialist off their game. This was not the case whatsoever for Andy. She was able to flawlessly move throughout the event, effortlessly working with our vendors and handling issues that arose with grace and professionalism. 4. Our ceremony took place near Mt Si, which was a trek not just for Andy, but most guests! Andy had amazing advice. She was on time, prompt, and had great communication with the vendors during planning and execution. She heard what we wanted and simply, made it happen. We wanted a drum circle, so we made sure to have everything onsite and available and she got the party started! I would recommend Double A Weddings & Events ten times over. Best decision we made. Period. We would have regretted not hiring Andy, tremendously. She's fun and not afraid to speak up for her clients. You won't get anyone more dedicated or cool to hang out with on your wedding day! If I could give Savannah 10 stars I would!!! Savannah has to be the most organized person I have encountered. I originally was not going to get a coordinator for my daughter's wedding, thinking we could handle things ourselves. However, the closer we got, the more I realized I could not be everywhere at all times! Savannah was the perfect person to fill this role. She takes her role very seriously. She set up meeting times, and had spread sheets for my daughter to help her keep track of specific items, and when certain parts of the wedding planning should be done by. She kept in contact with other vendors, coordinating things with them. She had frequent check ins. On the rehearsal day she had printed out a service order for the wedding party, and we did the walk through several times. She helped my daughter make the wedding programs. She is also an interior designer and was so helpful on the day of the wedding with the decorating. We had the venue starting at 10 AM and the wedding ceremony started at 4PM. The ceremony and reception area were separate. My daughter and I were up at the ceremony lawn setting that up, and we showed Savannah pictures of how we wanted the reception area to look and it turned out fantastic!! She is very professional and wonderful to work with!!
