St. Paul’s Church sits on a sloping grass bluff overlooking the waters of Port Gamble Bay. The church, built in 1879, is modeled after a church in the Maine hometown of Port Gamble’s founders. One of the most photographed buildings in the area, the picturesque church steeple houses the original church bell, and wedding couples thrill to the sound of the church bell ringing as they are pronounced married. Hood Canal Vista Pavilion offers breath-taking panoramic views and stunning sunsets over the Hood Canal while surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. In the Pavilion, a floor to ceiling stone fireplace sits opposite abundant windows overlooking lush seasonal gardens . Six sets of French doors lead to a slated patio and an expansive grassy bluff right on the shores of the Hood Canal. The House Then Designed by Daniel Riggs Huntington, a well respected Seattle architect, this replica of George Washington's beloved Mount Vernon home was built in 1925. Employed as the City of Seattle architect from 1912 until 1921, Huntington also designed the Fremont library branch, the Lake Union Steam Plant, several fire stations and the Washington Street Boat Landing. While the Chapter House was "purpose built" as a meeting place, the membership always intended their hospitality to extend to the community in the form of a venue for private, public and non-profit events.
