Built in 1911, the D&F Tower was the tallest structure west of the Mississippi, at a height of 393 feet. In the 1960’s after financial ruin the building was set to be demolished. In the early 1970’s, Denver was able to save the actual clock tower from being destroyed. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it lights up the Denver skyline and remains a defining building for downtown. Tivoli Student Union is a historically beautiful and unique building on the Auraria Campus. Built in 1870 by German-born Mortz Sigi, the Tivoli was originally part of the Colorado Brewery. In 1901 is became the Tivoli Union Brewery, named after the famous amusement park in Copenhagen.
