This historic Japanese garden and summer cottage were built at the turn of the last century. A private estate spanning 125 acres of gardens, fields, streams, mountains and trails, it has remained in the same family all this time. The garden is recognized as an important example of the Japanese “strolling” garden from that era. Because the estate remains in private hands, it is made available by the family for special occasions on a limited basis (2-3 ceremonies per year) The venue includes the Japanese garden and the surrounding meadows and fields. If you are looking for a location for a formal wedding ceremony and reception or a destination wedding site for enjoyment with guests over a long weekend of fun, hiking, fly-fishing etc., this venue offers rare access to an exclusive, one-of-a-kind destination. The restored dairy barn built in 1828 on a 100 acre, family ran, historic venue with modern-day amenities is nestled in the Hudson Valley, NY. It can host up to 150 guests comfortably inside the barn, with additional space on the deck for cocktail hour and an adjacent lawn area for your ceremony. There is also an additional lounge seating area if some of your guests would like to relax with a bit of quiet time. Antique chandeliers accent the hardwood floors, walls and beams providing the rustic character that compliments the temperature controlled AC and heat to enable us to provide year-round events. In addition to the barn, deck, and ceremony space, the onsite 4 bedroom (7 queen beds) restored farmhouse is included in the venue for the weekend. A Friday check in enables you to prepare yourself for the big day and set up the space in the barn with any decor. The house is yours for the entire weekend for up to 8 guests. It works perfectly as a bridal suite for everyone to get ready.
