Westminster Hall and Burying Ground

4.5

Baltimore, MD
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $3,000

People travel far and wide to visit historic Westminster Hall, the Burying Grounds and Catacombs. Guests have the opportunity to explore one of Baltimore’s oldest cemeteries which contains tombs of prominent political, military and business leaders, and the grave of Edgar Allan Poe! Westminster Hall, formerly a Presbyterian church has a unique combination of early Gothic Revival appearances, mixed with today’s modern conveniences. The restored Gothic church has elegant stained glass windows, carved oak woodwork and an 1882 Johnson pipe organ. People appreciate Westminster's prime location at the corner of Fayette and Greene Streets in downtown Baltimore. Immediately adjacent are the University of Maryland Baltimore, University of Maryland Medical Center, Maryland Bar Center, and Baltimore VA Medical Center. Within walking distance are Oriole Park, M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore's Inner Harbor, the Convention Center, and major hotels, retailers and businesses.

Overall, we loved our wedding here! We picked this venue in part because it’s so beautiful that the decor we would need to do would be minimal. We were right about that, and there was even some decor provided by the venue in the form of trees with lights. The organ is absolutely beautiful. There is an inside area with a table that’s perfect for cards, seating charts, and a guest book. The layout with upper areas around the organ makes a nice configuration for guest seating. The biggest downside was the bridal getting ready suite is very small and there isn’t a separate area for the groom, so we got ready and took pictures at a nearby hotel. The grounds are also lovely and were great for first look pictures in the graveyard (which is permissible if done tastefully). You can pay an extra 100/hour for the guests to tour the catacombs under the church, which was a nice touch. My other complaint was the technical difficulties — we couldn’t get the microphone at the podium to work so we had to project, and the bass in the music using their auxiliary system kept going in and out. The grounds keeper kept an eye on things for us in terms of crowd control and lighting.

The Baltimore Museum of Art

5.0

Baltimore, MD
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $40,000

The Baltimore Museum of Art is the ideal location for couples wishing to treat their guests to a one-of-a-kind experience. A vibrant and innovative institution, the facility seeks to inspire creativity in its couples by providing an environment that is steeped in history and welcoming to all. A major cultural destination, The Museum’s internationally renowned collection of 95,000 artifacts is sure to keep your guests talking for years to come! Couples have the option of choosing from four unique event spaces: Fox Court, a neoclassical room that features a coffered ceiling supported by elegant Ionic columns and a gorgeous sculptural light installation by contemporary artist Spencer Finch; Antioch Court, a mosaic-filled room that surrounds the museum's Atrium and features floor-to-ceiling windows; the West Lawn, a beautifully landscaped garden that features captivating sculptures; and the Meyerhoff Auditorium, an elegant space that features a stage and portable Marley dance floors.

We had our 100-guest, creative black tie, February wedding at BMA with ceremony and reception in Fox Court and cocktail hour in Antioch Court. We were very impressed with the booking and planning process with Alicia. The rules were quite restrictive, but it's a museum after all and most rules were discussed up front. We found it important to mostly use vendors who have worked at BMA before and are familiar with the rules. Both rooms were breathtaking on the wedding day! We were impressed with the number of staff BMA provided for our wedding day; all being super friendly and helpful. We can't wait to spend our anniversaries visiting the museum in the future.

GoggleWorks Center for the Arts

5.0

Reading, PA
  • Up to 215 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor

Our venue is a historic goggle factory converted into a modern art center. We’ve been hosting weddings since opening in 2005 and we love to see a couple’s dream come to life in our spaces. From a dreamy ceremony, to an unforgettable reception, we have a combination of studios and galleries to suit the day you’ve been envisioning. We can’t wait to work with you!

My partner and I got married at Goggleworks in May of 2024 and we could not have asked for a better venue. Between the thoroughness of Margaret's communication, to the versatility of the venue itself, and all of the steps that go into making a wedding a breeze - they have it all. We wanted to have a slightly untraditional food situation at our wedding, bringing multiple restaurants together to have a mixed menu and this space accommodated that perfectly. With no required food vendor, you have the ability to get really creative in this space. And when I say that the staff were incredible to work with, I mean all of them! Margaret was fantastic with all pre-wedding planning. We were able to rent the spaces for the day before to load everything in and lighten our day-of wedding load. Margaret was there waiting for us at the loading dock, and there to close up when we left - she is the calming and helpful presence that you want on your wedding day. We were also able to leave our things in the space until the day after the wedding, making clean up much easier on us. In addition to Margaret, her team is stellar, the housekeeping staff are incredibly generous with their time, and the desk staff were there to point our guests everywhere they needed to go. All around a great organization to work with. If I were to do it over, I would choose Goggleworks every time!

Chester County History Center is an exceptional and unique historic wedding venue located in the heart of downtown West Chester, PA. Convenient to Hotel Warner, boutique shops, galleries and restaurants and minutes away from major Brandywine Valley attractions, our venue is the perfect spot to make history together! This beautiful historic building, offering many photo opportunities, was built for the YMCA in 1908, then purchased and renovated by CCHC in 1993. Your guests will also have access to the award winning museum's many galleries in Horticultural Hall, designed by Thomas Ustick Walter and built in 1849. This building has the distinction of housing the first Pennsylvania women's rights convention in 1852 among other influential historic events and performances by well-known 19th century entertainers.

We always love working with Chester County History Center. Since it's right in the heart of downtown West Chester, the location is wonderful and a stone's throw from everything that West Chester has to offer! Cindi is a breath of fresh air - always professional, helpful, responsive, and friendly - everything you'd want in a coordinator! Highly recommend!

Baltimore Museum of Industry

Baltimore, MD

  • Starts at $4,500

Historic. Waterfront. Perfect. Since 1981, guests at the Baltimore Museum of Industry’s waterfront location have enjoyed a breathtaking view of the Inner Harbor. With spaces both indoors and out, separate areas for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, a convenient downtown location, and a free, on-site parking lot, the BMI offers an unrivaled backdrop for your wedding.

We had an amazing wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. The venue offers a cool, unique setting that really made our big day special. The events staff were fantastic - communicative and professional during planning, then warm and laidback on the wedding day itself. They truly went above and beyond, acting as day-of coordinators and helping ensure everything ran smoothly. It was wonderful having their expertise guiding us. Despite being such a unique, Instagram-worthy venue, the BMI is very fairly priced. We got great value for money. I can't recommend the BMI highly enough for couples wanting an affordable, one-of-a-kind wedding with fantastic service. We were absolutely floored by the staff's hard work and dedication, both leading up to and on our special day. It was perfect thanks to them!
