Marisa Ruth Photography

Castro Valley, CA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,000

Hey, I'm Marisa! I work with couples to help capture their dream wedding day! Most days you can find me drinking coffee in front of my computer editing the day away. If I’m not home in the SF Bay Area, I’m most likely in the Sierras or at a session off the grid. Outdoor adventures light up my soul! I basically live out of a duffle bag. In my free time you can find me drinking wine with friends, maybe on a run, laying around with my dog, near a lake or finding the best tacos.

Marisa is truly the best! When my husband and I first booked her last year, we were nervous to do our engagement photos, we were and are (lol) not the “photogenic/IG” type couple. But Marisa ran with it and made the whole session comfortable and embraced our quirky-ness! Fast forward to our wedding (2weeks ago) Marisa and her team were a dream! My husband and I didnt feel awkward, they were all so great no matter what scenario and/or event came up! (Insert ants) I’m so happy to have had Marisa be a part of such a special day for my husband and I! There is no one else I would go to for my future life events! Thank you so much Marisa!!

Each wedding I take on the roll of coordinator, photographer, and personal assistant keeping the entire day running smoothly and keeping the stress of the day as far from the bride and groom as possible. I would love to be a huge part of your entire process from overall planning to execution of the day! In the off chance you're booking at a Northern CA Wedgewood venue, I have hundreds of hours of experience at each of their venues and work very closely with the everyone of the staff at Wedgewood.

My wedding was in May and the weather surprised us by dumping buckets of rain during the ceremony. Thomas was so helpful with all of his direction and suggestions for the ceremony. He was able to keep his cool and roll with the punches on our very crazy day. Our Photos are absolutely stunning! I honestly can't say enough good things about him. He took so many photos and his editing is wonderful. He also did our engagement photos all the way in Yosemite. He not only drove 3 hours one way for the engagement shoot but also drove an obscene amount of hours for our wedding. He put in so much work and I can't thank him enough.

Hannah Berglund Photography

I'm Hannah, a full time wedding and portrait photographer in Livermore, California. To me, photography is so much more than just hiring another vendor. And that's why you should choose someone you truly love to work with! I believe the real magic happens during the in-between moments – a secret smile shared by the parents; a tearful hug with the maid of honor; a quirky moment with the best man. These memories are far more precious than any staged photo, and these are the memories I want to capture for you on your big day.

Awarded Best of Zola
Picking a wedding photographer is likely the most challenging vendor, many of your wedding memories are in their hands. My husband and I Zoom-interviewed countless photographers and we immediately cancelled every other interview / photographer hold after getting off our call with Hannah. Even over video, we felt like old friends. Throughout the wedding preparation process, we met and took photos with Hannah to get to know each other in person. We had a great time hanging out, making jokes, and all the while, getting outstanding "engagement" photos (we had already sent out a save-the-date). Hannah was also an expert at wrangling our pup, who loved to sniff and ignore the camera. Leading up to our wedding, she shared really helpful tools, which assisted us in outlining our wedding day and advising other vendors. Hannah checked in on us and regularly met with us over Zoom to make sure we were all on track. Unlike some of our other prep calls, we really looked forward to our prep sessions with Hannah. The day of our wedding, Hannah went out of her way to make it a success. When our florist insisted on delivering flowers later, Hannah picked up an extra bouquet to photograph with our details. She has an impressive wedding industry history, so she actually knew one of our vendors already and despite meeting the rest of the first time, she seamlessly flowed with all of them. She immediatley went to work with our wedding coordinator, but also adding to the camraderie and fun of "getting ready". She even advised and dealt with our very challenging videographer, who consistently got in her way. I can't imagine having anyone else so intimately involved with our wedding day as Hannah. I was looking forward to 1:1 moments with my husband the most, and Hannah made sure to prioritize those moments for us, capturing every ounce of excitement and bliss. Those moments are my most treasured of the day, and I actually really enjoyed having her there for them, because she is such a special person (and now friend)! She knows exactly how to handle anything thrown at her on wedding day. I can't recommend Hannah enough for your wedding experience. If you're looking for a truly special memory of your day, you will not only come out with hundreds of incredible photos, but you'll leave with a great new friend.

C Wagner Photography & Design LLC

I’m Cherlyn (rhymes with Berlin). So nice to e-meet you! If we met in person and it wasn’t during a pandemic- I would probably hug you! I’m an introvert-extrovert and tend to ramble too much when I get nervous. In emails - I tend to use exclamation points a lot!! (and will agonize over my drafts of emails before sending them because they probably have one too many!!) My aim as your photographer is to provide a memorable experience where you two feel comfortable, taken care of, and get to fully enjoy your wedding day as much as possible with all your guests & loved ones - whether they be in real life or via livestream!

Cherlyn was the perfect choice for our wedding photography. From our very first interaction, the she was warm, and responsive, which immediately put us at ease. The quality of her work was truly exceptional - intimate, natural, and she beautifully captured all the little moments and details we didn't even know to savor. Beyond just the photography, she also generously helped us find a day-of coordinator who saved us from ourselves! We are so grateful for her time, energy, and talent, which made our special day even more perfect.

I love creating images with movement that capture the heart and soul, the candid moments, the playfulness and personality. So get ready to adventure and let's tell your story!

Awarded Best of Zola
Working with Carrie was an incredible experience. My fiancé and I hired her to take our engagement pictures and they are better than I could have imagined - so good that we've also hired her to do our wedding in October! Carrie's eye for detail and her ability to capture the essence of every moment transformed ordinary scenes (our backyard, In n Out, and our favorite dive bar to name a few!) into life-long memories. I think what truly sets her apart is her ability to establish a genuine connection with her clients. Throughout the shoot, Carrie made me feel at ease, enabling both of us to express ourselves naturally, resulting in photographs that truly reflected our personalities and captured the perfect moments. I highly recommend this photographer to anyone seeking not only exceptional photographs but also a truly enjoyable and memorable experience.

I am an East Coast transplant wedding photographer based in the SF Bay area. I’m super laid back and kind of a goofball… I like to have fun during my photo sessions to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Jess. We used her for not only our engagement photos & wedding but our pregnancy announcement, maternity photos with both my babies, & newborn photos. I know Zola is a wedding website so I will keep it wedding related. She’s professional & fun. She makes you feel beautiful & comfortable but also makes you feel like she’s not even there. She captures every tiny detail and is true master at finding the perfect lighting. If her photos aren’t a testament to her work just trust me (a complete stranger to you) when I say “book her now!”

I’m a photographer based in San Francisco, California. Pero, I travel anywhere in the world for destination weddings and elopements. I was born in Manila and at a young age I developed my love for photography watching films. I just had this feeling that I wanted to freeze time and hold on to moments. Besides my passion for photography, I’m an avid traveler and have a love for food! So, let’s get to know each other more and tell me your love story! I’m up for some good ramen and delicious ube desserts.

Janvier Photography was an absolute dream to work with for our special day. From the very beginning, his communication style was assertive, analytical, and professional, yet he was also incredibly kind and encouraging throughout the entire process. His passion, talent, and dedication to his craft was evident in the stunning, high-quality photos he delivered that truly captured the special moments of our big day. Janvier made me and my partner feel so comfortable and at ease during the shoot, keeping us laughing and helping us achieve natural, beautiful poses. He went above and beyond to ensure we got the photos of our dreams, and we would recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent wedding photographer. The photos we have will last us a lifetime, and we are forever grateful to Janvier Photography for their incredible work.

Want a trusted, unobtrusive, thoughtful pro photographer friend on your wedding day? Someone to capture the way the wedding FEELS as well as it looks. A little direction during portrait time, a little leadership during family portraits, and near invisibility all other times? I think you’re onto something. I’m in. What's exciting? What’s important? What's confusing? Let’s sit down for a discovery meeting and I’ll ask, listen, lay out options, and share suggestions. I want to learn about you. I'm on your team 100% before, during, and after your wedding. Bonus: I've shot 400+ practice weddings before yours and I absolutely LOVE what I do!

We found Olivia to be a wonderful, skilled photographer! Her eye for composition is creative, yet she demonstrated the connectiveness of us as a couple. The one thing that stands out is how Olivia totally put us at ease by using innovative ways to relax us as we were posing. She had us, as we were holding a position close to each other, to tell each other 3 things we love and appreciate about each other. This of course brought smiles and was totally relaxing and sincere. She made us so relaxed and comfortable . As a result , the photos look completely natural. We actually became engaged the afternoon, immediately after these photos were taken. She made the moment so relaxing and magical. It was serendipity. I recommend her highly, and will be spreading the word amongst my friends and contacts. We will treasure these photos forever.

Two Irises

Born in San Francisco, I grew up in West Marin, traveled to the East coast and Ghana for schooling and I am currently based in the East Bay. A mother, gardener, hiker, traveler - I have a background in dance and psychology in addition to photography. I've photographed weddings for more than 20 years.

Cindi and her team at Two Irises turned our wedding memories into incredible photographs that we will enjoy for the rest of our lives! My favorite thing about working with Cindi is that she listened to what I wanted and took photos that I requested (family/wedding party shots, getting ready shots, etc.) but she also took so many candid photos and captured real moments of joy of my husband and I and our wedding guests. Those photos ended up being my favorite pictures! I loved her work so much I recommended Two Irises to our friends, who booked them for their wedding - and in exchange we were gifted a beautiful print of our choice from our wedding! Could not recommend Two Irises enough.

Diane Bagaoisan Photography

  • Photojournalistic style

  • Serves Castro Valley, CA

Right after graduating from CSU Sacramento in 2012 (with a BA in Photography, might I add!), I did photography as a side-hustle while working a couple of various jobs: part-time as a Summer camp counselor and full-time at a medical device company. After getting married in 2016, I moved to Modesto with my husband since he was working there at the time. Because of the move, I had to leave my jobs in the East Bay. I took this move to the Central Valley as a sign that I should do photography full-time. So, since 2017, I've been a full-time wedding photographer. We are now in beautiful Sonoma County!

Oh geez, I don't know where to start with how much I loved working with Diane! We originally worked with her for our engagement shoot, and from the beginning she was responsive and all of her communication was detailed and transparent. She put so much time into getting to know my partner and I so that she could capture us in a genuine manner, and also so that she could help us feel as comfortable as possible taking photos (it was our first time taking photos professionally, and neither of us is super comfortable in front of a camera). Taking the photos was so much fun, and her final product captured that so incredibly well. We were OBSESSED with the photos. Her Instagram really captured her skill and artistry because we saw them in our final products, too. Working with her for our wedding was such a clear choice! In the process of preparing for the wedding, she again collected so many details from us to make sure she understood what kinds of photos we wanted, and her timeline for the day ran perfectly! We got every shot we wanted, and she checked in along the way to also get any photos we hadn't thought about leading up to the wedding. She is an absolute PRO!!! Not only that, but she brought so much joy, light, and fun to the day. Our guests loved her too!! I heard so much from them after the fact about how they felt like she was somehow everywhere all at once, not a moment to be missed!! The wedding JUST happened, and we already have LOTS of sneak peeks that look incredible. We absolutely loved working with Diane, and seriously cannot recommend her more highly. She is an absolute joy and gem, and we will absolutely be working with her in the future for any special occasions we want help capturing. THANK YOU DIANE!!

Our approach to photography and film making is the result of years of experience and hard work. We love to capture your unique day, your moments, your emotions, and your memories as they unfold. Our photography is a blend of photojournalism and natural/authentic portraits. Our portraits feel organic and bring you right back into that moment.

I would 100% recommend them. Here's why: Communication: Jen and Brian work so well as a team. They're both always so quick to respond. They're thorough, friendly, helpful, kind, funny, and efficient. They presented very clear written communication and made themselves available. Price: What really got me was the fact that I could give the password to our album to anyone and there were unlimited downloads. Plus, the engagement shoot and the wedding were bundled together. Last, broke down what they're charging for in the invoice. Organization/tips: Jen is so well organized and Brian knows just how to support her to maximize that organization. Since I was planning this wedding with no wedding planner, their expertise, tips, and organization skills were very much appreciated. When I asked for advice outside of photography, they were very careful not to persuade my decision to what they thought I should do, but gave very insightful tips to make my own, informed decisions. They helped me create a very clear timeline (for photography) that I used for the entire wedding and went over during the rehearsal dinner. They told our officiant (who was my cousin) to be sure to move away before he tells us to kiss. Since my wedding, I've noticed some officiants are not told this. Equipment: They come VERY well prepared. First of all, they were coming from Northern California. We live in Los Angeles/Orange County area. So they came down twice for our engagement shoot and for the wedding. During the engagement shoot, they had tons of great lighting equipment to do cool shots like the one under the bridge. They scoped out the sun patterns of both sites the day before to be sure they got the best lighting. They encouraged me to bring multiple outfits for the engagement shoot and brought a pop up tent so I could change in the middle of a park. They also has a speaker system we were able to use at the wedding Pictures: My husband and I are both very camera shy. Neither of us have taken pictures with professional photographers before and even my husband said, they made us feel really at ease and he could not imagine getting photographed by anyone else. They took a LOT of pictures. They got everything from details to people. They used their own creative ideas, and also asked for our input. The ONLY thing I have to say that's negative is there are a couple shots where some of the people in the photos are off center or not close enough to the rest of the group and one shot where my husband is doing something awkward in with his hands. Other than that, I really really love their editing style and how they got a good mixture of candids and posed pictures. Video: I especially love how in our ceremony video it caught my cousin saying something funny so my husband wouldn't cry when I was walking down the aisle. I love that they added clips of the speeches, but wished they got my cousin (maid of honor)'s speech in there as well. As far as the rest of the video, everyone that watched it said it was AMAZING! They got great camera angles of the ceremony, my husband appreciated that they took the videos quickly as we were doing the pictures, and they really captured as much as they could. Overall, Jen and Brian: - work very well as a team - take beautiful pictures and edit them well - give great tips without overstepping - are friendly, warm, and fun to work with - give you a lot for what you're paying - are very communicative - go the extra mile

Hiring Eivan’s for our wedding was a great decision! Our photographer Gregory I was professional and FUN! He kept us smiling throughout the day with his quirky personality! My fiancé does not care for photos so I’m happy we had someone working with us who could make him comfortable. He made sure to get multiple images even if it was just “one more”, it was never one more! We had actually hired a different photographer and we replaced him with this company. Worth the stress and money! If I had any tips for the company, it would be to have your photographers give a 30 minute warning before their contracted time is up. Weddings are so busy for the bride and groom, it is very easy to lose track of time. I think clients would appreciate a little heads up just so they can try and capture any photos they may have missed. Other than that, I have ZERO complaints. Such an amazing experience! 10/10 highly recommend :)
