Mark and his team were wonderful from the start. He was always prompt to respond, kind, and quickly provided any updates to the menu/guest count/linen color change/ etc. We felt so comfortable working with Chef Mark right from the start and that was even more confirmed when we were able to finally meet him on our special day. Mark was adaptable to our decision to move where we were hosting dinner with such a supportive response "It is your day, we are serving dinner where you would like to" with no complaint at all. He arrived a few minutes early to make sure he and his team knew the venue layout and quickly got to work! He was personable making many guests laugh and smile (and even gave them sneak peak tastes into dinner and dessert!). Chef Mark also came down while we were eating to make sure that all guests were satisfied and boy were their smiles on everyones faces! We started with an array of appetizers from olive tapenade to turkey meatballs (my fav!) to ceviche. Our dinner was delicious- chicken, salmon, rice, asparagus, salad, and for dessert, chocolate cake and cheesecake (we ate it all!). All of the food was so good that we were getting texts the next day about all the specifics to our menu from our guests. I would HIGHLY recommend booking with Chef Mark if you want comfortable, reliable, and good vibes on your wedding day!

The Brothers Ranch has multiple ceremony and reception areas to choose from, both inside and out. In addition, there is a bar, full kitchen, and designated dressing rooms, along with the sensory-indulging gardens. Up to 500 people can gather at this venue. Soon-to-be-weds can choose their own caterer to be approved by the ranch, allowing the pair to customize their day to their tastes and preferences. Parking is available, with overflow as well. There is only one event planned per day, and the couple has the day before and after the event for setting and cleaning up. The staff is eager to help couples achieve the wedding day they have always wanted!

We could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding! The ceremony lawn is absolutely gorgeous, and it was surreal to be married surrounded by lush flowers and towering bamboo. The reception space is beautiful and modern looking with beautiful lighting and an abundance of plants that make the area feel so warm and inviting. During the event and well after, our guests were gushing over how unique and picturesque our venue was! Our absolutely favorite part of the venue was working with Jonathan and Jessie! They are so down to earth, sweet and incredibly accommodating and felt like instant friends. If you are on the fence on hiring the Wedding Crashers, DO IT! They were a huge hit with our guests and now my husband and I are plotting ways to get some goats of our own! 10/10 Recommend having your wedding at The Brothers Ranch! You will have incredible pictures and beautiful memories that will last a lifetime!

She was a literal wedding angel. For reference, we went with the elite package and we extended our venue time until 11 PM. They were a dream to work with!

I found that many other florists had a very formulaic approach to booking weddings, and most of the generic estimates I received seemed to just focus and highlight the limitations and challenges of working within our budget. Autumn, unlike many in her profession, invested the time in writing a custom, detailed proposal, carefully crafting and curating a very plausible and creative way to bring our vision to life and well within our intended budget. Once I saw how meticulous Autumn was, before even being booked, I was immediately motivated and excited to reallocate other funds into our floral budget because for the first time in the wedding planning process, it felt totally worth it. Also surprisingly unique was the feeling that a vendor was truly excited and grateful to work wit us, whereas others seemed to overextend themselves, to a point that I often felt like I would be burdening them by asking them to "take on" on our wedding or squeeze us into their calendar. With Autumn, it felt like full on white glove service. She continued to impress throughout the entire wedding planning process and left both myself and my wedding planner very impressed and fully confirmed that we made the best decision booking her. My wedding day florals were an absolute dream come true. Autumn and her team worked tirelessly to ensure that the whole day went off without a hitch- and it did! Autumn's team was able to strategically orchestrate and repurpose florals from multiple corners of our massive venue, working tirelessly behind the scenes all day. Autumn went above and beyond to help me repurpose our wedding day florals for the remainder of our wedding weekend, adorning 2 additional wedding events - the flowers did not budge and were thoroughly enjoyed. This October, I worked with Elope in Monterey to have a small wedding with my immediate family in attendance. I feel so unbelievably lucky that Catherine was my photographer! I showed up to my wedding without ever meeting Catherine, but her warmth and friendliness made me feel comfortable immediately. As someone who is pretty shy in front of the camera (same goes for my partner), I was surprised by how comfortable I felt in front of Catherine's lens. She really let us be ourselves and joyfully captured all the silliness that makes us who we are. I also really appreciated her helpful directions and tips for posing, which she always delivered kindly. Catherine really made us feel like she was so happy to be there and for me, that really made my experience so pleasant and memorable! Even though our package only included 60 minutes of photography, she never made us feel rushed and she really went the extra mile to get us a large variety of shots and made sure we had many photos in various configurations of our group! I had read in a wedding magazine that you should hire a photographer who feels like a friend so that you are happy they are there on the day. Danieka met me for coffee in Monterey before we signed our contract and she was SO nice. Once we signed the contract, she started to send me recommendations for other vendors, suggested wedding timelines, and little pieces of advice she had picked up from other weddings (not too often - just 3-4 really informative emails throughout the year that we were planning and she was really responsive if I had questions). On the wedding day, she was prompt, really kind and struck an incredible balance between making sure that we had the pictures we wanted, but also that we were able to enjoy the day and not spend too much time taking pictures. I felt so happy she was there. Now, one week after our wedding, with just the pictures to look back on, we are SO happy that we booked her.

We hired Dina to be our wedding planner and it was the single best decision we made for our wedding. We called a few different vendors and Dina immediately stood out because she was the only one who was willing to actually give us a true consultation to ensure we were on the same page with what we wanted. She also didn't require us to pay her any money up front. In fact, she didn't request any money from us until maybe a month or two in? And even then, it was a minimal deposit. Point is, her vibe is that of someone who understands the stress of wedding planning for the bride and groom so she makes you feel like she wants to earn your trust and do everything right before she asks for your business. Leading up to the wedding, friends and family would ask us if we were stressed or ask us how the wedding planning was going. Our answer would always be, "you know what... we don't have anything to do lol." And that was the truth. Dina made the entire process come together so seamlessly for us, during a pandemic no less, when so many vendors were backed up. When we saw the venue in it's final form for the first time, our jaws dropped. Even to this day we love recalling comments from guests on how beautiful the venue was. During the actual wedding, she stayed the WHOLE night for us and even brought an assistant. Leading up to the wedding we were not expecting that! She helped to orchestrate the whole night between guest seating and working with restaurant staff. Simply put, Dina's communication was on point. Her work ethic blew us away. The way she found and discussed vendors with us made us completely trust her with the process of pulling our vision together. Her fees were criminal to the point we had to tip her almost 500 more just so we didn't feel like we were robbing her of her time and effort. We've already jumped at the opportunity to recommend her to friends/family that are embarking on their wedding planning journeys. I don't write many reviews, but had to for Dina. She will always have a special place in our memories and lives because she played such a huge role on our special day.

DJ AyAyRON's skills as a DJ are truly match for what we were looking for in a DJ. He was seamlessly able to mix one hit after another, and before we knew it, the night was over! He also knows how to read a crowd and play the perfect song at the perfect time to keep the energy high. But it's not just his DJ skills that impressed us - DJ AyAyRON was also a joy to work with throughout the wedding planning process. Sydalyn Hill, and its owners, Gwyn and Jon, are simply amazing. The venue itself is gorgeous and hidden in plain site. It's just a little bit off of Highway 9, but it feels like you've arrived in heaven when you get there. At the same time it is, paradoxically, expansive and yet completely intimate. I've dj'd there on a couple of occasions, and both times it felt like there was magic in there air. I know this is full of superlatives, but I can't say enough good things about this place. Gwyn and Jon are delightful and highly professional. They make sure everything is in place and have a high attention to detail. Both are extremely nice and easy to work with. Anyone considering getting married in the Santa Cruz area owes it to themselves to have a look at this gem.

We got married at Chaminade in November 2023 and highly recommend the venue. We discovered the resort when happened to take my mom there for dinner to celebrate her birthday. Every member of the staff was kind and helpful. In fact, Christopher was able to give us an impromptu tour of the hotel rooms, banquet halls, and ceremony locations. Once we signed our contract, Rebecca and Lizzie helped plan the catering and day-of details which included the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception dinner. I felt very comfortable going into the wedding day and knew everything would be handled smoothly by the Chaminade team. I can't emphasize enough how kind and helpful every member of the team was throughout the event. We had so many guests comment that the food was outstanding - even months after the wedding! Sadly, my appetite was thrown off from the excitement of the day but the catering team offered me ginger ale and toast throughout the night. The venues were set up beautifully and we appreciated all that went into creating the settings for the ceremony, bar, and reception areas. Chaminade made our wedding day unforgettable and I am so thankful to the team for bringing all the details together!

I scheduled my wedding for April 19, 2020 and had my bridal shower the day they announced the covid shutdown. I went on to try to replan my wedding in multiple other ways but kept having to reschedule. I reached out to Melissa and Claye with Movin’ & Shakin’ and they were so kind and helpful through such a challenging and stressful time. Their trailer was so cute and their cocktails were delicious.  They communicated great with us to solidify a menu and their service window to stay within our budget.  They offered a mimosa bar for the bridal party prior to the service, created a twist on my favorite cocktail, and even had a Bloody Mary bar set for the following morning.  I highly recommend them for any event you need them before. My husband and I got married in Monterey, CA in May 2024 and we chose Junior Films as our videographer for our wedding. We could not be happier with our decision to work with Arturo on our wedding day! Like many couples, we initially thought we didn't need a videographer because we hired a photographer. However, after further discussion, we decided to explore adding a videographer to our special day. After meeting with Arturo from Junior Films and seeing his work, we knew that we wanted to hire him to film our wedding. This decision was truly one of the best decisions that we made during our wedding planning process! I lost track of how many times I said throughout the weekend - “I am so happy we decided to hire Art as our videographer because now we have this on film!” In our meetings leading up to the wedding, Arturo made sure he knew exactly what we wanted to capture and who we wanted to film the most on our big day.He is very dedicated to his work and will go the extra mile to get the necessary footage to best document the magic of the weekend events. He also worked closely with the DJ, photographer, venue coordinator & wedding planner to put our vision to video. On the wedding day, I was very impressed by his attention to detail while filming these once in a lifetime moments. Our wedding truly went by so fast - and even though we tried to be as present as possible - we couldn’t be everywhere at once - so we still missed major moments amongst our guests that happened on our big day. Luckily these moments were caught on film! Plus, as we were actively living through all of the raw emotions in real time on our wedding day - it is reassuring and invaluable to know that we have all of those raw emotions, reactions, and voices of loved ones beautifully captured on film thanks to Junior Films! We look forward to rewatching this footage for years to come!

I got married here recently and it was beautiful! It is very convenient having rooms on site to accomodate so many guests. You have to cater through the venue but their food is amazing. They use their own grass fed meats and were great about what food and drinks we wanted. While the venue does come with a few things like tables and chairs, you do have to pay to rent other items from them and a lot of the decoration will be DIY, but this can be a good thing if you want to personalize a lot of things! Owners are not too strict about things and are flexible. This can go both ways though - sometimes the planning was a bit difficult due to lack of communication with the venue. It would take a while to get answers, or they would forget some things I told them. Definitely recommend getting a day of planner to help since this is a large venue with lots of DIY and family around usually. Other than that though, everything turned out beautiful and guests were very happy with the views and rooms. They are reasonably priced and we were able to stay up late too! Perfect day :)

Karlie was very easy to work with. We met with her and then based on our conversation she sketched out ~6 different design ideas and also shared some example photos of different design aspects. The final cake looked exactly like what we had in mind. I remember during the wedding telling my husband that I was surprised they ended up using real flowers instead of sugar flowers. We didn't realize until the next day that they were actually sugar! They looked incredibly realistic and matched the floral decor perfectly. Also - the cake itself was delicious. We had plans to freeze some of it and eat it on our first anniversary, but ended up eating it all. Oops. We received numerous compliments from our guests. Thank you Story Cake Studio!

Our wedding company, Weddings in Monterey, has been a part of weddings as an officiant and photographer for the past twelve years.
