“We decided on a DJ instead of a band for a few practical reasons. It's cheaper, there's more variety in what he/she can play and therefore can appeal to a broader audience, and most importantly for us, a DJ takes up less space than a band. We thought about foregoing a professional altogether and just doing the iPod thing, but I was afraid that it would stress me out. For anyone else who has done the DJ search, there is LOT of cheese out there! I received a packet from this one guy with all kinds of crazy rainbow colors and smiley faces and frankly, his voice on the phone scared me. We wanted a low-key DJ, not a show-boat. Tom was perfect. He totally delivered! He wore a tux and looked great. Call me shallow but that's important - the DJ is in the background of quite a few of the photos. He was professional and knew what to play to make everyone happy. He also played all of the songs we asked him to, which is not always a given. The reception was non-stop dancing all night. We had a blast!”

“Brick park was AMAZING! There were so many compliments on their sound and the vibe they brought even during the spoken announcements. They played all the songs we wanted at the perfect times and filled the time in between with even more perfect song selections. Julian was so easy to work with and made the day go by smoothly for our other vendors, he even worked with our officiant to do transitional music during the ceremony. He worked so hard with us trying to get a band to fit with the space we had, but ultimately we went with the duet DJ option which is a very cool alternative that we were so happy was available. Julian has a great voice and killed it on the guitar. Unfortunately Christienne was sick on our wedding day but the fill in female vocalist was amazing too. I would HIGHLY recommend Brick Park for any type of event and we will be following them around the Boston area for live music in the future.”

David was very collaborative, helping us to plan the perfect set list and answering all of our questions leading up to the day. We were also so appreciative that the band was able to not only learn but perform incredible renditions of our first dance song, and themes from Vanderpump and Star Wars (truly amazing live!). Jason, Gail, and the entire Hot Mess team was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. They were super accommodating, kind, helpful, and they had endless patience when working with a very distracted bride. :) During the wedding itself, they had all 130 people on the dance floor from start to finish, and everyone had an incredible time. They truly went above and beyond to make our day extra special, such as learning a song in Portuguese and changing into pink outfits halfway through the night. It has been almost 6 months since our wedding, and our guests still can't stop talking about our amazing wedding band!
