Since 1971, Ware River Yacht Club has been a premier sailing and social club in Gloucester, VA. Located on the picturesque Ware River and close to the Mobjack Bay, WRYC offers a variety of sailing opportunities, from day sailing on our fleet of Laser, Opti and Albacore sailboats or cruising on our keel boats. A very popular education program allows youth and adult members to learn to sail or enhance their skills through lecture and on-water experience. Members enjoy an active social program, including racquet sports, holiday events, the annual oyster roast, gameday and musical gatherings. The gardens of Historic Tuckahoe offer an unforgettable outdoor venue just outside of Richmond, VA. This charming property offers guests a number of beautiful garden spaces and manicured lawns to host your once-in-a-lifetime event. Famously known as the childhood home of Thomas Jefferson, the 18th-century house and outbuildings provide a fascinating backdrop for outdoor celebrations. The venue at Historic Tuckahoe is the ideal setting for your long-awaited celebration. A pet-friendly venue, Tuckahoe offers many spaces, including a ceremony site and several reception areas. Both sides of the wedding party have access to "get-ready rooms," in the Historic Main House and the Old Stable. Also included a chauffeured golf cart shuttle for guests, grounds lighting, power & water, and restroom facilities for up to 100 guests. Additional tents can be erected for as a safeguard in the case of inclement weather and a 57 x 117ft Sailcloth tent is included with the venue rental.
