In 2009 I shot my first wedding, it was a dear friend of mine and the beautiful photos were featured in one of the biggest wedding magazines. Here's my photography short story: 2017, after 13 years of teaching, I said goodbye to the classroom and pursued Olympic weightlifting photography- my company was Everyday Lifters. Shortly after, I launched my wedding business. The Long Version: Weightlifting has taken me to places like Turkmenistan, Germany, & across the country! The weightlifters started getting married, and along the way, I received training to advocate for diverse bodies as a photographer. During this time of transition, I started taking documenting courses through the International Center of Photography and work on documenting local stories.

There is a dusty old photo album that I’ve looked at hundreds of times. It is from my parents’ wedding more than 40 years ago. It shows me a little piece of my history every time I look at those images. When I lost my father, I realized his memory lives on in those images for me. It’s like this perfect window into the past that I want to give each and every one of my wedding clients.

I’ll try to keep this short: I’m a silly, introverted, rule breaker with a sincere whimsical streak. Originally from Iowa with a decent chunk of time spent bopping between Minneapolis and Oregon, I love weddings + photography (duh), my nephew, a stiff gin + tonic, propagating too many damn houseplants, and my cats. My name is Isora Lithgow. I am a wedding, branding, and lifestyle photographer based in Vermont, traveling to NYC often and dreaming of packing my suitcase all of the time.
