Hausfrau Catering

5.0

  • Starts at $1,000
  • Serves Pottsville, PA

Hausfrau is an upscale catering and events company putting the JOY back into hosting and wedding planning. Let us take care of all the details. We love themes ~and FOOD~ not just German! We can develop the perfect menu, layout, decor, and more to create a unique experience for your guests at your price point. Our team takes the time to hear your ideas, envision your perfect event with you, implement our shared plan, and ensure everyone enjoys our hospitality from start to finish. Our focus on aesthetics means we plate and garnish food on white china platters and wood instead of just dropping off disposable aluminum pans for you to figure out!

Kristin with Hausfrau Catering did a phenomenal job with my daughter’s wedding at Balla Cloiche Vineyards. The food and service were beyond expectation. The appetizers at cocktail hour were great, particularly the mini crab cakes (even made gluten free due to some allergies). There were about 90 guests and everything went very smoothly, from the plated salad and soup courses, then main course stations set up with beef, poultry, seafood choices, as well as a vegan option for a couple of guests. Dessert shooters were delicious. The rentals (tables, place settings, etc) were great and communication and flexibility were exceptional from start to finish. Highly recommend Hausfrau for any catering needs.

Joint Venture

5.0

  • Starts at $3,750
  • Serves Pottsville, PA

Danny has spent the past dozen years working in kitchens around New York City and abroad. After attending the French Culinary Institute, Danny worked at Momofuku Ko, Isa, Estela, and Cabane à Sucre Au Pied de Cochon in Montreal. In 2015, Danny founded Joint Venture as a way to explore how food can bring people together beyond the confines of a restaurant’s four walls. JV is a departure from and reaction to the kitchens of his past. It's about collaborating with friends, reconnecting with nature, and working directly with farmers and producers. JV creates menus that are of the season and expressive of their surroundings. JV is ever-evolving.

Joint Venture cooked some of the best food of our lives for our wedding of 135 people last year in the Catskills. Danny somehow managed to create a menu that was comforting and indulgent, yet nourishing. I'm a musician who's played hundreds of weddings and I've never experienced a caterer close to Joint Venture's level. He also focuses on seasonal ingredients and sustainable farming practices-- even growing some of the food for the meal himself. We couldn't recommend Joint Venture more to anyone looking for a transcendent catering experience that's also down-to-earth (literally).

La Mila Catering & Events

5.0

  • Starts at $75
  • Serves Pottsville, PA

Starting their careers in the restaurant and food industry, Elie & Heidi Hanna decided to utilize their unique experiences and create their own vision of a full service event company. La Mila is named after their daughter, Milana, who provides them with limitless inspiration and motivation.

As a classically trained chef, I hope my review of La Mila inspires anyone doing their “homework” to earn an A — for themselves, especially their guests. I’ve been to many weddings, and the food served is often an edible afterthought. How many times, when leaving a wedding, were you asked, “What did you think about the food?” — and you replied with shrugged shoulders, “Eh, it was okay.” That is not the case with La Mila. A huge shoutout and thank you to Sandy, who was able to pull together a phenomenal menu all in a very timely timeline. Sandy was honest, upfront, and available around our busy work schedule. The day before and the day of, Sandy was there to help with setup — from the big asks, like helping move furniture, to the small tasks—like lighting lanterns and ensuring no glass of champagne for our toast was served empty! Given our wedding took place at our home, we thoroughly appreciated Sandy staying late to clean the kitchen, empty overflowing garbage, and make sure our home was not a war zone when we woke up the next morning! Elie’s execution of our menu was stellar. As a classically trained chef, I was thoroughly impressed by the well-run machine Elie could create within our garage, the makeshift kitchen for the event. It rained on our wedding day, and we were blessed with a beautiful, vivid rainbow—right before dinner service. This blessing brought all our guests outside for 30 minutes—right before dinner. A major wrench in the moment-by-moment timeline. I know how this, for many chefs, can be a disruptive, unexpected delay—but Elie did not miss a beat. All of our guests raved about the food—notably friends who I graduated with from the Culinary Institute of America. One thing I learned in culinary school is that you “eat with your eyes first.” Simply put, Heidi’s presentation skills are on point! Her attention to detail in creating beautiful food displays, notably for our cocktail hour, showed the care, thought and love we wanted our guests to feel. Sandy, Elie, and Heidi may be the stars of La Mila’s show—but the success of our wedding would not have been possible without their hard-working and friendly staff. One of the elements that sold us on choosing La Mila, was their well-stocked arsenal of kitchen equipment they brought on site. (Most caterers require you rent equipment separately, which is not only more expensive, but introduces a whole new dimension of moving parts.) La Mila was also able to include chinaware, silverware, and the majority of our glassware! They even included soft drinks, water, condiments, cocktail napkins, etc. — all of this, and they still came in under what we were quoted by other caterers. Thank you, Sandy, Elie, Heidi, and the entire La Mila Catering & Events team, for making our wedding day what it was. Your talent, professionalism, and experience were felt by everyone who took part in our special day.

The Backyard Bar Co

5.0

  • Starts at $1
  • Serves Pottsville, PA

We are a luxury mobile bartending service based out of a converted vintage horse trailer. We bring the party to you by providing everything for the bar but the alcohol. When you hire us, you get our beautiful trailer, a custom menu, certified bartenders, insurance, cups, napkins, straws, fresh squeezed juices, fancy garnishes, homemade syrups, mixers, some decor, all the fun, an alcohol shopping list & much more!

We found The Backyard Bar Co through a vendor recommendation and were so glad we did! Brittany and Candice were responsive to our inquiry and so easy to talk with. Brittany helped put us at ease and from our first phone consultation we knew we were in good hands but could not have imagined just how wonderful it was to work with them. Brittany and Candice are both wonderfully personable yet also highly knowledgeable and professional. They worked with us through phone calls, email and a tasting night to create a bar menu that let our tastes and interests shine through. The menu also brought their considerable experience and love every step of the way using top notch ingredients including homemade lavender simple syrup, in house dried citrus garnishes, luxardo cherries and environmentally considerate serving ware. We had a group chat going the week of the wedding that helped us feel excited and cared for on our day. There were a lot of last minute headaches that we had to sort through and these ladies were joy and sanity in a head spinning time. Weeks after, many guests are still raving about how sweet they both were and what awesome drinks they made. They truly helped make our wedding day the best it could be.

Luongo Barbecue

5.0

  • Starts at $500
  • Serves Pottsville, PA for additional fees

Preparing and serving slow smoked, expertly prepared barbecue is the greatest joy in my life. There are no short cuts in barbecue and that's what I love about it. We started Luongo Barbecue to glorify the Lord and grow the Kingdom of God. We use the business as a means to feed and serve the less fortunate in our community. After spending the last 30 years in Texas, 20 of those learning all things barbecue, we are relocating to central Pennsylvania in January 2025 to begin working with family on the next chapter of Luongo Barbecue.

Awarded Best of Zola
Luongo BBQ is a quality Texas barbecue. And the pricing is fantastic. They are about giving quality food at a price that won't break the bank, but do not get me wrong; I would still use them if they cost 3x what they do because the food is worth every penny! PS: Don't sleep on the Mac and Cheese!
