Chef Ellen and her team delivered delicious food for our wedding on May 1st. My husband and I had spoken to other caterers who seemed to want to tell us what we wanted our wedding to be like, but Chef Ellen listened to us and enthusiastically created a menu that checked all of our boxes, including dietary preferences and restrictions. We had a tasting at our home and once we tasted the food, we knew we picked the right caterer. Our guests agreed. It didn't go unnoticed that our food options were anything but the regular wedding fare. We wanted a Mediterranean vibe for all of our entrees and Chef Ellen and her team delivered. As the venue was outside, she worked with her preferred rental vendor, Big Dawg Rental, and ordered all of the equipment needed for the catering operation, keeping me in the loop and checking in on cost. She identified cost savings by asking if I wanted to order some items outside of rentals, which I did on occasion. We hired the serving staff from Renegade as well and they did a great job. I highly recommend Renegade Outpost for a unique catering experience. We definitely received what we wanted.

First off let me say thanks to Chef’s Culinary Journey for an AMAZING wedding. Paul was very punctual, a professional at his craft, very friendly and easy to work with. I seriously could not have asked for a better catering company service for my wedding. He made me feel comfortable and relax to the point I was a guest at my own wedding and he was the host. Really. How did he do that? The food, yes, the food was a hit. All of my guests raved and complimented not only the presentation, taste, taste, and how delicious the food taste. This went on throughout the night. I have nothing but LOVE for Chef’s Culinary Journey. I would unquestionably work with Chef’s Culinary Journey again for my next celebration (hint, hint: Baby Shower) and I’m recommending them to everyone I know for they event

Jillicious Foods & Events

5.0

  • Starts at $20,000
  • Serves Pleasantville, NY

Jillicious Foods is an all-in-one catering and event company dedicated to creating inspired, authentic wedding, social and corporate experiences. For us, every client represents a unique opportunity to tell a new and delicious story. Chef Jill has been telling these stories for nearly three decades. We work in a variety of cuisines, from New American to Cajun to Southeast Asian; accommodate all diets, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian; and are proud to partner with local farms and purveyors throughout the Hudson Valley and New York City.

We had an absolutely amazing experience working with Jillicious! My husband and I are major foodies so we knew we didn’t want to have standard wedding food at our reception. We started searching for wedding caterers that would work with us to customize the perfect menu for our wedding day. Jillicious did not disappoint! We worked with Chef Jill to put together the most delicious menu of both apps and main courses. Everyone we spoke to after the wedding couldn’t stop raving about how good the food was. It honestly rivaled many of our favorite restaurants in NYC. In addition to the food, Chef Jill and her staff were amazing. They were so responsive throughout the whole wedding process and offered so many great recommendations. On the wedding day, the staff were very helpful with getting the rentals in order, setting up the tables, etc. We also had some guests thank us for how allergy conscious the wedding and staff were. We're so grateful to Jillicious for bringing our vision to life and couldn’t recommend them more! They truly contributed to an absolutely perfect wedding day!

We booked the Culinary Curate for an intimate buffet style wedding celebration this summer. No rainy weather could have ruined the experience. Charmaine and her team made sure every guest had a wonderful time. From the early planning days of timely communication to clean up time following the event, Charmaine and her team’s execution was exemplary. Aside from delicious food, we were treated like family. Charmaine was assertive and professional when she needed to be as well as creative and accommodating at the time of the event. Thanks for such a memorable evening!

La Mila Catering & Events

5.0

  • Starts at $75
  • Serves Pleasantville, NY

Starting their careers in the restaurant and food industry, Elie & Heidi Hanna decided to utilize their unique experiences and create their own vision of a full service event company. La Mila is named after their daughter, Milana, who provides them with limitless inspiration and motivation.

As a classically trained chef, I hope my review of La Mila inspires anyone doing their “homework” to earn an A — for themselves, especially their guests. I’ve been to many weddings, and the food served is often an edible afterthought. How many times, when leaving a wedding, were you asked, “What did you think about the food?” — and you replied with shrugged shoulders, “Eh, it was okay.” That is not the case with La Mila. A huge shoutout and thank you to Sandy, who was able to pull together a phenomenal menu all in a very timely timeline. Sandy was honest, upfront, and available around our busy work schedule. The day before and the day of, Sandy was there to help with setup — from the big asks, like helping move furniture, to the small tasks—like lighting lanterns and ensuring no glass of champagne for our toast was served empty! Given our wedding took place at our home, we thoroughly appreciated Sandy staying late to clean the kitchen, empty overflowing garbage, and make sure our home was not a war zone when we woke up the next morning! Elie’s execution of our menu was stellar. As a classically trained chef, I was thoroughly impressed by the well-run machine Elie could create within our garage, the makeshift kitchen for the event. It rained on our wedding day, and we were blessed with a beautiful, vivid rainbow—right before dinner service. This blessing brought all our guests outside for 30 minutes—right before dinner. A major wrench in the moment-by-moment timeline. I know how this, for many chefs, can be a disruptive, unexpected delay—but Elie did not miss a beat. All of our guests raved about the food—notably friends who I graduated with from the Culinary Institute of America. One thing I learned in culinary school is that you “eat with your eyes first.” Simply put, Heidi’s presentation skills are on point! Her attention to detail in creating beautiful food displays, notably for our cocktail hour, showed the care, thought and love we wanted our guests to feel. Sandy, Elie, and Heidi may be the stars of La Mila’s show—but the success of our wedding would not have been possible without their hard-working and friendly staff. One of the elements that sold us on choosing La Mila, was their well-stocked arsenal of kitchen equipment they brought on site. (Most caterers require you rent equipment separately, which is not only more expensive, but introduces a whole new dimension of moving parts.) La Mila was also able to include chinaware, silverware, and the majority of our glassware! They even included soft drinks, water, condiments, cocktail napkins, etc. — all of this, and they still came in under what we were quoted by other caterers. Thank you, Sandy, Elie, Heidi, and the entire La Mila Catering & Events team, for making our wedding day what it was. Your talent, professionalism, and experience were felt by everyone who took part in our special day.

Events and Weddings By Allan

5.0

  • Starts at $2,500
  • Serves Pleasantville, NY

Welcome to Events and Weddings By Allan! Our family owned restaurant is a celebration of the Mediterranean region known for its fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and healthy dishes. Our Chef Allan Abbad uses authentic recipes and techniques that have been passed down through generations. Whether you are enjoying our signature hummus, falafel, or kebabs, you can be sure that you are eating the real thing. In addition to our exceptional cuisine, we offer planning services that are tailored to your needs and preferences. From menu planning to decor and party favors, we take care of everything so that you can sit back and enjoy the festivities.

I don’t know which was better, the ease of working with Allan and his wife or quality of the food? Both were amazing. The charcuterie station seemed to go on forever. There was something for everyone and Allan took into account dietary restrictions. Along with the charcuterie station there were salads as well as the main courses. They offered great selections and advice on what dishes would go best with the others. They also offered suggestions to cut down on the already economical prices. I would HIGHLY recommend Events and Weddings by Allan for all of your catering needs.

Sunflowers Event Planning, Inc

5.0

  • Serves Pleasantville, NY

With more then 25 years experience we find that listening to every bride and or client describe what they want for their special day or event is what it takes to be successful. It's what you want not what we want. Creativity is a strong characteristic and I enjoy the final product. It's simple. When the clients are happy I know we were to their expectations and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

We hired Sunflowers for our daughter's back yard wedding on Sept 12, 2020. Once Chef Laura and her crew arrived (hours before the event), they took over and I knew I was in good hands. Chef Laura was a pleasure to work with and also provided excellent guidance during the planning stages. The appetizers, passed during cocktail hour, looked and tasted great. All of the food during the buffet dinner was also excellent. The bar was well stocked with everything we needed for our crowd, which enjoys their cocktails. The crew were professional and responsive and kept everything clean during the party. Because of their hard work, I was able to enjoy the day! I will definitely call on Sunflowers for future events and would recommend them highly.

My company hired Late To The Lake for a special corporate event. Not only did they work hard to do it on short notice, but the food was spectacular! I've never seen food presented so beautifully! Her staff was very professional and attentive to our needs. I would recommend LTTL to anyone who wanted to make an impression on their clients at any type of event. We got married in Italy but still wanted to do something for our friends in NYC. We had about 60 people at their sister venue in uptown Manhattan. We were able to play our video from the Italian wedding on the big screen. The craft cocktails were the best part. Very fast and stylish bartenders. We had cocktails and omakase sushi, we wanted something very different than what we did in Italy. It was the perfect Manhattan wedding experience. Working with folks at Hot Take was great, not like a stuffy old caterer at all. I think what we did was the best wedding experience we could have asked for in NYC.
