Outside the doors of the reception rooms is a large brick patio and pollinator garden, just right for cocktail hour. Opened in the Fall of 2016, The Ballroom stands as our 4th historical landmark in a pastoral green setting. All staffed and catered in-house, The grand Greek revival facility with its towering columns continues to honor the legacy of Charles Ellis, a local entrepreneur. Built in 1932, the location was used as a school for girls around the Philadelphia area. Now, Finley Catering plans to bring a totally new dimension to our brides and corporate clients by combining our culinary expertise and top-notch service with the idyllic grounds for an outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour along with the state-of-the-art grandiose Ballroom for your dinner and reception. Bok Vocational High School was built in 1936 to accommodate 3,000 students from across Philadelphia studying subjects like wallpapering, cosmetology, auto mechanics, bricklaying, and more. Due to decreased enrollment it was put up for auction in 2013 and by 2015 Scout, a multidisciplinary design firm with a background in transforming vacant spaces in creative ways, took ownership of the building. Now, Bok has been deemed as a historical building on the National Registry of Historic Places and houses more than 250 businesses and artists. It’s 340,000 square foot structure is also home to a cafe and an award-winning rooftop bar. Located in the heart of South East Philadelphia, a few blocks East of East Passyunk Crossing, BOK sits on an entire city block in a residential neighborhood.
