The Brooklyn Beats is the inaugural event/wedding band founded by music industry veteran, Jon Shiffman. Jon is best known for his live work as a drummer for Grammy winner Jack Antonoff in the bands Steel Train and Bleachers. He has toured all over the world and his drumming can be heard on various National TV Commercials, and is featured in the 2024 release of Paramount Pictures’ Mean Girls movie. Named after a 1932 jazz standard, Street of Dreams Jazz Band from New York City is a vintage jazz and swing group with a lush, romantic sound. Inspired by neo-soul greats like D’Angelo and Erykah Badu, Fake Tapes is all about the pleasure principle. Lead singer Kyla’s voice zig-zags assuredly above mischievous harmonic twists and sharp, understated grooves as she spins oblique stories of heartbreak and hope in New York City. The members of the band met in the Brooklyn jazz jam scene and have been playing with each other ever since.
