Vernonia Springs is THE place! We got married in October 2020 and fortunately had planned on a wedding ceremony with less than 30 people pre-COVID. I had several questions about everything and was constantly emailing Jeff to ask about all the ins and outs. He wrote back quickly, consistently, and professionally. We visited twice beforehand and Jeff was helpful and friendly. He was easy to work with having food trucks come in and pre-approved day before with a couple drop offs. When the big day arrived, the venue was beautiful, had safety protocols in place and we heard several compliments on the atmosphere. The venue is quiet and tucked away with limited cell service, so at the end of the night, when everyone sat around the fire place, it was relaxing and comfortable. My husband and I stayed in one of the yurts and the bed was so comfy! Other guests said they enjoyed their bed and setup as well. Honestly, I have only have great things to say about Vernonia Springs!

Hire your dream team of vendors or ask us for our personalized recommendations! Need a little more space? We can help you obtain the permits necessary to utilize the sidewalk, right outside our doors, for cocktail hour overflow. This will allow much more flexibility for ceremony to reception "flips" with a higher guest count, and is also a great option for food trucks.

  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Provides lighting and sound

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Does not provide event staff
  • No in-house catering options
Hiring Easton Broad was hands down the best decision we made for our destination wedding! Planning a wedding from another state is no easy fete, but Kelly helped us with so much, we never had to worry about details being missed. We only ever saw the venue twice- first when we toured it and fell in love, and not again until our wedding day, when we fell in love all over again! And the time between, Kelly was so quick to answer all of our questions (and there were tons!); we'd get responses within an hour and sometimes even in the middle of the night. It's very clear that she's passionate about what she does, and has been doing this for a long time. We are so fortunate to have found Easton Broad and it will hold a very special place in our hearts for the rest of our lives. To Kelly and her entire team, thank you so much for caring and making our wedding day even better than we could have ever imagined!

We did the weekend package option for the venue and had the venue from Friday till Sunday. This was perfect for us because it allowed us to do the wedding rehearsal dinner at the same venue as the wedding. This helped us out a lot because we were planning this wedding from out of state. We visited a few venues in Portland, and this was by far the most breathtaking! Our out of state guests loved visiting Portland and enjoyed the venue's location to everything downtown.

Our wedding reception went so smoothly and as the bride I felt so confident that if anything was going to go wrong the staff would handle it. We were told from multiple guests, and agree, the food was delicious and the best wedding food people had ever had. I highly recommend as a venue and am so happy we were able to find it for our venue 6/30/2022.

The Mason Jar -Gathering Barn

5.0

Onalaska, WA
  • Up to 200 guests

Jim and Christy Hutchison built their barn 20 years ago with the help of family and friends. Initially meant for their kids' 4H animals, the barn hosted their children's weddings in 2013 and 2015. Enjoying the love and gatherings the barn brought, they decided to share it with others, becoming a county-approved venue in 2015. Surrounded by stunning mountain views, tall cedars, weeping willows, and prairie fields, The Mason Jar offers a 3-day relaxed environment for weddings. The Hutchisons provide ample time for decorating, rehearsing, and celebrating without rushing, keeping pricing affordable with available decor to help reduce costs. Family-run and oriented, they believe in community support and annually donate a wedding to a deserving couple, embodying the heart and soul of The Mason Jar.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Picturesque garden backdrop

Venue considerations

  • No in-house catering options
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available

Our family has used The Mason Jar for multiple occasions over the years and each time has been amazing. Wonderful atmosphere, amazing owners and just an overall lovely experience. The views are stunning, the barn, kitchen and cabin are adorable. It can be made as upscale or down home as you want it to be. I really can’t say enough. Would HIGHLY recommend.

We absolutely loved having our 55-person wedding at Bar Carlo. The owner Mel is at the same time very supportive and very low-key, which made for a smooth planning process and day-of event. The space is gorgeous, and has multiple connected wings, which allowed for the the party to morph seamlessly over the night from barside cocktail hour to outdoor patio ceremony to dinner buffet to dance floor. The space is already a beautifully decorated artwork, and Mel lets you decide how to arrange the space for your event, but you can also bring your own decorations/sound system/llama and she can handle those additions easily. The food and drinks were delicious too, and Mel was able to accommodate our entirely vegan and gluten-free menu without hesitation. Overall we loved the unique-ness, flexibility and good vibes of the space and the people of Bar Carlo, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cute and fun space for their wedding or other event. -Nicola & Lou

From the moment we reached out to The Barn on Jackson, Kari was warm, responsive, and incredibly friendly - genuinely a pleasure to work with. The venue itself is pretty spacious and they already had some decorations pre-prepped which were fantastic - tulle draping the ceiling, tables set up with runners, etc. Great communication beforehand on what would be set up so it was all things we knew we wanted (but would have been hard to set up ourselves). They also had a second barn with a truly massive collection of wedding decorations that were free to use. If you're gearing up for your own wedding I can't emphasize enough - this is invaluable. Door looks sparse and you need something? Grab a basket of pumpkins and pinecones. Want to direct folks to a certain area? Tons of signs and/or chalkboards. We used quite a few decorations there and barely dented their stock. Venue rules were also very generous - early setup/arrival times, late quiet hours, sound system already set up, and dogs allowed. Kari and Mark were available day-of for help when needed, and since we were staying on-property at their 16 person Airbnb (which was stellar for housing the bridal party a small private cabin onsite for us) they were easy to contact. Overall the Barn on Jackson checked all our boxes, plus some we didn't even know we had until we were looking back at the wedding thinking "whew, glad we had that provided already". We toured a lot of venues and are so glad we went with this one - couldn't recommend more highly on any metric.

The ceremony (which is the most important to me) and everything else went the way I wanted it to so I was very happy about that. I thought it was perfect! THANK YOU especially to our Coordinator, Noel. She was just a delight to work with! Anyone would be so lucky to have you as their coordinator. We just felt at ease with you. I will definitely recommend you guys for anyone planning their weddings or other events. You are just simply the best! Their in-house vendors are fantastic to work with as well. The team at Ironlight have created something so special. People choose to get married in the PNW because of the unparalleled beauty. But....we also have to deal with wind, and the occasional smoke from a wild fire. Because mother nature can be so fickle, its important to have a venue that has flexible options. And that, Ironlight has in spades. Their indoor space is elegant with incredible natural light. It is truly a space every couple can customize and make their own. Their outdoor patios allow couple and guests alike to enjoy our beautiful days and nights, with one deck showing off a view of Mt. Hood, and the other highlighting our amazing PNW sunsets. While the space is beautiful and so thoughtfully designed, I also appreciate the other amenities like a dedicated parking lot and garage, easy loading dock for vendors, fully private restrooms, and complete handicap accessibility. And while the venue speaks for itself, I also want to highlight the customer service this venue offers. Their team is made up of brilliant, service oriented women and everything from the ease of tours, to internal processes to client communication is done with care and thoughtfulness. Definitely schedule time to reach out to Ironlight. It truly is a gem! Kim

My partner and I looked at a couple of wedding venues in the first stages of planning, and once we visited the Aerie we knew immediately it was the right fit. We rented The Cave - their smaller outdoor venue - and it fit our vision for the day perfectly. It felt rustic and secluded without having to drive an hour outside of Portland, and it was simply gorgeous. Natasha who we worked with for the year in the lead up was phenomenal - we felt listened to and taken care of with her. We're so happy to have had our special day at the Aerie!!

We had our dream wedding at Saint Irene's! We planned an intimate (65 guests) wedding and DIY'd many aspects of it, and Saint Irene's was the perfect partner in wedding planning. Ella, the events coordinator, was so helpful and responsive, and guided us through a lot of the process. The space itself is beautiful (the only decoration we brought for the ceremony was an arch we built ourselves with faux greenery, and guests kept commenting on how stunning the place was). The ceremony space was transformed into the dinner space and there was plenty of room for dancing in the bar area. Also, we had a taco bar and the food was phenomenal. Could not recommend this venue highly enough!

This space is beautiful! We are so happy we booked this for our wedding venue. Jason is so laid back and easy to work with. A lot of venues are very strict and have so many hoops to jump through, but we just got to come in and do our own thing. We got the space Friday-Sunday and for such a good price! I love the brick and hardwood floors in the ballroom, and the black and white checkered floors in the clubhouse. We utilized all the room and the rooftop! This is definitely a great venue to choose if you are on the fence about it! The only thing I was a little worried about was parking, but it ended up being okay!

Our wedding in Abigail’s Garden was such a wonderful experience. The staff, the food, and the grounds were all fantastic. The weekend rate was out of our budget but we were able to cut the cost in half by booking a Thursday. The only downside to the venue was that we weren’t able to have a true rehearsal until the day of, and we weren’t able to access the venue until 3:30pm without paying more. I would do it all over again if I could!

First, if you have not stayed at the Allison Inn and Spa, that is a must! Second, if you are engaged you need to have your wedding here! My daughter's wedding was held here in August of 2024. The grounds and layout at the Allison are spectacular and perfect for a wedding. We had the ceremony in the lower Meadow Garden which was perfectly shaded as it was a sunny hot day. Then we had the cocktail hour on the lawn, followed by dinner and dancing in the ballroom. Truly the best venue!!! But most importantly it was the staff at the Allison. EVERYONE was so incredibly nice and kind. From Kameron, manager of wedding and social events, all the valets, chef, bartenders, waitstaff, and so many more that I met over the 4 days were constantly helpful, kind, and professional. The food was delicious and very well presented!! The specialty cocktails were such a hit and made to perfection. The desserts and baked goods were delicious. Kameron was such a delight to work with. She was extremely responsive to all our emails. She had many other events happening before and after our event but she always made us feel like we were so important. Kameron was always cheerful and pleasant to work with. Looking forward to going back to stay as guest again soon. This time, no wedding, just rest and relaxation!
