  • Allows pets
  • Exudes old-world charm

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
Booking with The Wedding Foundry at Liberty View Farm is the best thing my husband and I have ever done. We were looking to have a small intimate wedding, but every venue tour we did still had a 75-100 person minimum and required a large cost requirement for catering. Then I happened upon The Wedding Foundry when researching micro weddings. We had one phone call with Billiam and immediately signed the contract, without even viewing the venue first. As a bride, the fact that they were including the venue, the officiant, photography, florals and catering was the best thing ever. It took so much stress off of me while planning this wedding, as I did not have to run around to different vendors. Billiam and Erica were extremely communicative and really took the time to learn what we were looking for. Day of, Billiam and his day of coordinator Cathy made sure the day ran perfectly. We were absolutely blown away from how beautiful our venue was. The florals they created made our wedding look like a fairy tale. Our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. Erica was an absolute pro with photography, really taking her time with my husband and I for our portraits. Throughout the night she made sure to capture every moment. Erica sent teasers to us within a week of our wedding and the photos are beautiful. The officiant, Michele, was amazing. She created the most personalized and beautiful ceremony that fit us perfectly. We loved how she included a hand-fasting ceremony as well. Multiple guests approached us to let us know that there was not a single dry eye during our ceremony. The Wedding Foundry truly created our perfect day. We are so happy with our intimate wedding, we had 46 of our closest friends and family and everyone truly enjoyed the day. I highly recommend booking The Wedding Foundry at Liberty View Farm for your intimate wedding.

We have nothing but positive things to say about our wedding at the Lippincott! Owners Marty and Tricia are a wonderful couple who are so easy to work with. It is clear that they do this because they are genuinely passionate about it and enjoy it. They were very attentive and clear about everything which made the planning a breeze and put us both at ease. Any requests or questions we had were met and answered with no problems. They run this venue like a well oiled machine. The day went so smoothly, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Tricia made sure we ate and were enjoying ourselves throughout the whole day. Many of our guests said it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to. Not only did they compliment the food, but our guests really loved the venue. The Lippincott is so beautifully decorated and the grounds are gorgeous. We really only had to provide our floral centerpieces and whatever extra decorations we wanted. They provided the tablecloths, runners, napkins, and lots of decorations. Best of all this venue is so affordable. We fell in love with this venue the moment we drove up the road. My husband and I grew up in NJ, live in Brooklyn, and were looking for a venue that felt like a nature retreat while still being accessible for our friends and family. Milford is a great town just down the road and the hotels are so close too. Linnea and Alec were so communicative and helpful with the endless lists of questions we sent them. We cannot thank them enough for setting the stage for the weekend - and I'm just so impressed with how seamless and easy it felt to use their venue. We were struck just by the beauty of the whole property. It's absolutely marvelous! We were surrounded by charming little bunnies and butterflies the whole weekend. We took advantage of the place for the whole weekend - a Friday night pizza truck party, multiple pool and hot tub hangouts, and a Sunday bagel brunch in the barn. Everybody was raving about the barn, farmhouse, and cottage. The sunset during the reception created a great atmosphere for our guests to congregate and enjoy the lawn. We felt right at home and it made our wedding so incredibly special.

We started the wedding planning process by starting to look at venues. Falkirk was the first venue we had toured and immediately fell in love with it. From seeing the golf course, the waterfall, the gazebo, and incredible views, it was breathtaking and we imagined ourselves getting married there immediately. We met with Andrea during our tour, and had the pleasure of getting to work with her throughout our planning process, and was absolutely incredible on the day of our wedding! She made herself available to answer our (many) questions, going over timelines, and ensuring that our vision and dreams for the day came true. They had it all, from phenomenal staff to incredible food, not to mention the stunning views. We could not have asked for better! They truly make you feel like a VIP throughout the entire wedding weekend. Andrea was an absolute gem to work with, and made sure everything we dreamed of came true. And when we got the opportunity to have fireworks during our reception?! To this day, we have friends and family still talking about the firework show. Andrea worked seamlessly with other vendors and the firework staff to make sure it was a surprise show that no one would forget. Our wedding day was a dream, and we are so glad we had it at the Falkirk Estate and Country Club. We are so incredibly happy we got the pleasure to work with them, and would recommend any couples that are starting the wedding planning process, to reach out to them.

My husband and I got married at the CKE this October 2024. There aren’t enough words to express our gratitude to their entire team for all of their hard work to make our visions and dreams come to life. Each and every staff member was kind, and helpful. If you had a question you’d get a response promptly and always with a “let’s see what we can do attitude”. Katherine (the owner) made you feel a part of the CKE family and always was looking to make the planning process seamless and easy for us and our family. The CKE floral and design team made our big ideas all come to life- we had a visions of big branching centerpieces with florals tucked in, that Jess and her team absolutely delivered on. On top of that, we asked for an installation over our sweetheart table. Jess and her team have many suggestions and shared they visited Home Depot at least 3 times to see how it would hang, and the final installation beyond exceeded our expectations. The talent and grace their team exudes is what ever bride and groom look for in a team. The planning process was also so seamless due to their amazing coordinator team. We worked with Katrina, the kindest, most professional coordinator we have ever met. Katrina was available at every step of the planning process, providing thoughtful recommendations due to her very obvious experience. Katrina also was there for our wedding day of helping to manage the schedule, set up, constantly checking in, and making sure it all went according to plan (which it did). In addition during the reception Katrina was checking with us throughout the night to see if we wanted to pivot anything or if we needed anything. We are extremely grateful for her support! In addition, Kyle was our maitre d’ for the evening and he did an absolutely wonderful job. He made sure to check in with my husband and I as well as our immediate family members. He was so kind and professional! Lastly but very importantly- the food and drinks! Most of all of our guests shared that this was the best wedding food they have ever had. It is no small feat cooking for large groups and every aspect of the food from the cocktail hour to the dinner course was absolutely fantastic. These are a few quotes from guests: - “The food was gourmet.” - “This is the real deal.” - “The sushi… Oh, the sushi! So fresh!” In addition, the bartenders crushed it! Everyone was impressed by the quality of the drinks and we never had a line at the bar- they were fast and catered to our guests. I would highly recommend the CKE to future couples getting married. The aspect of the family business really shows and ensures you have a tailored experience for your wedding. The entire staff is kind and down to earth- always willing to help. We wish them nothing but the best for their future wedding seasons!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I don’t even know where to begin. The chandelier family made our wedding day so incredible and special. They have such an amazing team that was there for me every step of the way of wedding planning. The food was AMAZING. I didn’t get one single complaint from any of the guest. If anything didn’t go as planned or went wrong the day of the wedding, I had no idea. 100000000/10 recommend this venue!

We got married at Bad Seed in June 2024. It was the first venue we toured and we knew it was perfect right away. Devin, Albert, Brandon, and the rest of the Bad Seed team are so down to earth and communicative. They gave us great advice about how to make our wedding day amazing. We wanted to DIY our decor and music, bring in our own food vendor, and have a casual garden party vibe. Bad Seed was super flexible, letting us choose whichever vendors we wanted and giving us tips for great service providers in the area. Because they only do one wedding per weekend, we had the entire day before the wedding to set up (which we needed!) as well as the entire morning/afternoon before the big event. There was always someone at the venue to help with whatever we needed, even going above and beyond to help us lay out the tables and set up decor. We wanted an indoor/outdoor wedding. Unfortunately, mother nature had other plans with a heat wave and thunderstorm moving through the area. On the bright side, Devin and the Bad Seed crew made sure we could do the whole event inside -- even going out to buy a big industrial fan to make sure the taproom stayed cool (we didn't end up needing it, the AC did its job!). Bad Seed is also SO reasonably priced compared to other wedding venues in the area. There was no nickel and diming or hidden fees - just an honest price and a great value. During the actual event, the bar staff went above and beyond to take care of us, checking in on us throughout the night and bringing us drinks so we didn't have to wait at the bar. It really made us feel like a million bucks. Oh, and our guests were raving about the cider :) If you're looking for an awesome, picturesque wedding venue in the Hudson Valley, Bad Seed should be your top choice.

The Barn on Hubbard

5.0

Callicoon, NY
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor

Located in Callicoon, New York, The Barn on Hubbard is a rustic and charming wedding venue. This fully restored 19th-century barn is ideal for couples who want a vintage wedding with all the modern amenities required for remarkable celebrations. The barn was originally built in the 1800s by the Gabel family from Germany. Dairy farmers by trade, this barn was the family's home and livelihood for many generations. Surrounded by picturesque meadows and the Catskill Mountains, the barn is now a desirable wedding site for those dreaming of a naturalistic festivity.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Flexible event spaces
  • Has a dance floor for celebration
  • Raw space for complete customization

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
The Barn on Hubbard was absolutely perfect in every way. We were married there in October 2018 and could not have asked for a better experience. The Barn's scenery in the Fall, set on a back road on a sprawling hill is to die for and made for wonderful photo opportunities. The Barn has beautiful natural lighting, a very cool bar built into an old silo, a great outdoor patio and a large lawn space perfect for games and activities. The best part about the Barn on Hubbard was that we were free to bring in all of our own vendors and decorate however we wanted, which helped us tremendously with cost savings. This wasn't your typical cookie-cutter venue where it is overpriced, one-stop shopping. We are from the city, so we thought it would be challenging to plan a wedding about 2 hours way, but Sara went above and beyond the call of duty. She provided excellent recommendations, was readily available to answer all questions, accommodated our rental company with drop off the day before, allowed us to decorate the day before, and helped to prepare a number of other things leading up to the wedding - not to mention everything she did the day of the event, from assisting with parking, to making sure everything was running smoothly. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding, or any event, I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Barn, the people who run it, and the time we had planning/celebrating our wedding! The guest house is an absolute bonus (we invited close friends to stay next door). And the folks at Seminary Hill are a pleasure to work with, especially the property manager Bill. He was beyond helpful and extremely friendly. He helped us wrangle vendors before the wedding, he helped with setup and when any issues arose the day before, and he was just all-around a pleasure to work with. Off peak season is considered November through Mid May with a maximum of 90 guests. At The Arnold House, we don't just host weddings; we create a celebration that spans all weekend long.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Rustic charm with elegance
  • Has an energetic and exciting atmosphere

Venue considerations

  • No free parking
  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
  • Not wheelchair accessible
We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding. The Arnold House encompasses everything we wanted for our wedding weekend - the charm and warmth of the Catskills, a low maintenance energy with high quality offerings, and a versatile venue where each space felt uniquely different (even if we had to use the same room twice...cue cold weather and rain!) to make each night feel like its own unique experience and special moment. Working with the Arnold House: From the start, they were so flexible on making sure that what was important to us worked. For example, we had preferences on specific food and wines and the AH team made it so easy to swap (and even source!) what we wanted. This team has an incredible ability to transform each space into a beautiful one, from the spreads they put out, the greenery they pick as decor, the furniture they arrange, and all the small touches in between that matter...we are so impressed. Additionally, they were helpful to make our guest experience the best possible - accommodating special requests and just generally being warm and inviting people. Lastly, the Arnold House itself is always continuing to add and improve their offerings. So we were met with nice surprises throughout our wedding planning process. For example we got to benefit from new chairs and dinner tables, something we no longer had to think about renting. The Space and Food: Wow! Our band and dance party in the greenhouse was pure magic. And our sit down dinner in the barn was beautiful and romantic. At first we were a bit concerned about having the dance party in a separate room from dinner - but it worked out really well and actually was nice to let those who wanted to dance, dance, and those who wanted to sit and chat be able to easily do that too. We didn’t get to eat much (even though we swore we wouldn’t be those people) but our guests all said the food was great and we can say for certain that we loved the burrata, oysters, trout drip, flank steak, and pumpkin pie!! Friday was intimate and inviting in Shandelee Hall/the Sun Room with the fire burning and the wine flowing. Wood fired pizzas were perfect. The Tavern: It’s own unique experience and space - unique from everywhere else on the property. Pool table and “divey-ish” vibes - a perfect setting for junk food and afterparty. Sunday brunch was simply gorgeous in the greenhouse. Food was simple, but good, and displayed beautifully. Overall: As you can tell from this being the first review, this place feels like a really well kept secret. Having now had our wedding here, we want to shout how great the Arnold House is from the rooftop. If you’re reading this right now, trust us… make the call and visit the Arnold House! Emily and the whole team were fantastic and made our weekend feel really special. The Arnold House will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you team Arnold House for the most wonderful wedding weekend.

Coming from NYC, we had our eyes set on an indoor-outdoor venue that could capture the beauty of the Catskills region. We spent many weekends visiting venues and when we stepped into Wildflower on Watts we immediately knew that it was the one. Their entire property is meticulously designed from their landscaping to the barn architecture. Start to finish the experience was as amazing as their property. Bethany, who runs Wildflower, is the sweetest and kindest person I’ve ever worked with, which is something that was shared with all of our vendors and anyone that spoke with her. She helped us throughout the process and was incredibly patient with all of the little things we asked her about. The day of the wedding was perfect and we utilized everything they offered. We had an amazing landscaped backdrop for our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour then enjoyed the night with dinner and dancing in their barn. Everything was perfect and couldn’t recommend this venue more. Thank you!

Catskill Estate Wedding

Claryville, NY
  • Up to 150 guests

This historic Japanese garden and summer cottage were built at the turn of the last century. A private estate spanning 125 acres of gardens, fields, streams, mountains and trails, it has remained in the same family all this time. The garden is recognized as an important example of the Japanese “strolling” garden from that era. Because the estate remains in private hands, it is made available by the family for special occasions on a limited basis (2-3 ceremonies per year) The venue includes the Japanese garden and the surrounding meadows and fields. If you are looking for a location for a formal wedding ceremony and reception or a destination wedding site for enjoyment with guests over a long weekend of fun, hiking, fly-fishing etc., this venue offers rare access to an exclusive, one-of-a-kind destination. We have partnered with the Frost Valley YMCA to provide lodging with hotel like accommodations and transportation for wedding parties to and from the estate.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a glamorous vibe
  • Combines timeless elegance with history
  • Venue is completely outdoors

Venue considerations

  • Requires outside catering services
  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Does not have a dance floor
Working on an estate always holds a special place as a photographer. There's something unique about being on a property that a family holds near and dear to their heart, and you can tell that thought and care is put into every detail and every space, honoring where they came from and embracing what's ahead. When I familiarized myself with the property upon arrival I was continuously met with various opportunities to take gorgeous portraits, and I used each of them to really tell the story of where we were and the wedding we were celebrating. The grounds are beautifully kept and the tented reception complimented the property perfectly. If you're looking for a unique venue that is understated but nonetheless special, this is the place for you.

We are SO grateful to Camp Lindenmere for having the most beautiful venue and the most supportive, helpful staff! I knew I wanted a camp wedding from day 1 of planning, but most camps require a lot of DIY. Kyle, Elliot and staff are SO on top of planning ,guest bookings, timelines, day of coordination, doing all the set up (I mean we literally brought in our mug favors and they put the little “thank you” tags on, they put batteries in our taper candles, etc. I swear they don’t say no.) The food all weekend was incredible, the drinks were flowing (my husband and I were CRAVING the ribs we had at the reception for a full week after). Our guests were really pleasantly surprised at the “country club” feel of the summer camp - staff is always around on golf carts to escort guests as needed, there’s even a beer golf cart going around on Saturday. The waterfront was beautiful, everyone got a kick out of the high ropes course, people were playing volleyball under the lights all hours of the night. They told us the after-party would end at 1:30 but we were partying til 3:30 and no one was kicking us out. I’m trying to convince everyone I know to get married here so I can come back as a guest!

Having our wedding at Handsome Hollow was an absolute dream. Kate and her team are professional, thorough, and beyond helpful before and on the day of the wedding. The location and grounds are stunning! We chose to have our ceremony in the fern forest a little ways up from the barn - it's like walking into a fairytale. The barn is a beautiful reception space that's open, inviting, and even more magical after sunset under the glowing string lights! We had a few guests including a couple of our family members who required assistance walking at certain times, but that was not a problem at all... The team communicates like special special forces to make sure everyone is comfortable and anyone requiring assistance gets shuttled swiftly by an off road buggy wherever they need to go! We also got shuttled as Bride & Groom does have it's privelages :) It was such a relief to know everyone was taken care of. Staying in the guest house was fantastic. The morning of the wedding I got ready upstairs in the barn loft, while my wife had the farmhouse the with hair/makeup and all of that. It's such a cute house, and was so nice to not have any traveling before our big day. Everything you would need is stocked at the farmhouse and help always seemed readily available if needed. It was just the relaxed easy going atmosphere we needed to chill out as much as possible before the wedding. There are so many great nooks and places for photo ops at Handsome Hollow! For a summer day it wasn't too hot at all, maybe the elevation helps a bit with that! It was warm before the ceremony when we took some photos in the sun, but we just cooled down in the farmhouse afterwards. The ceremony in the fern garden was under cover of trees so it was perfectly cool (both temperature and vibes!) The barn just seems to stay cool also, so that was no issue at all. We didn't get a chance to eat our desserts, so the team brought them up to the farmhouse for us to enjoy after the wedding was over. It's that level of hospitality, and so appreciated. My only regret is that I couldn't split myself into two people so I could not only get married, but also see the food buffet, see the s'mores by the campfire, watch our first dance (we nailed it!!). Luckily we had a phenomenal wedding planner (Lauren / Wild Blooms Bridal), and phenomenal photographer (Joshua Brown) to compliment the venue! It was truly an amazing day, and we can't thank you enough. You cannot go wrong with Handsome Hollow!!!

We had our wedding at Kindred Creeks at the beginning of May 2022. I have so many great things to say about this place! First off, Jill was extraordinary, caring, attentive and so helpful from start to finish. She was able to work within our budget while keeping our dream wedding a reality. She had rain plans, sunny day plans, plans for more or less people and was thorough throughout. Her father, Gerry, who lives in the farm came out the day before and day of the wedding to make sure we were taken care of and that anything we needed would be done. And the tent staff was kind, courteous and officiant! The grounds itself were gorgeous! We were the first to use the airstream bridal suite which got so many compliments and great photos. They also redid the bridge across the creek for the wedding party to walk over during the ceremony. I fell in love with the green barn and even though it needs to come down soon, they held off construction so we could take pictures in front of it. We got married right where the two creeks meet which was so beautiful. All our guest had nothing be great things to say and we are beyond happy with the experience. If you are thinking of taking a tour of the farm, don’t hesitate! You will fall in love just like we did!
