“TLDR: Your search is over-- Morby Photography is amazing. I’ve worked in TV/Film out in LA with some experience as a photographer for 10 years, and now I work as a Creative Director where my job is to be critical of content, including things like event photography. I'm not ashamed to say I'm a snob about it. So when it came time to choose a photographer for my own wedding-- I was honestly TERRIFIED. I didn’t think I was going to find anyone who would fit my high standards. My wife and I got married at the Union Trust in late October. It’s a beautiful venue, but not a ton of natural light. As I searched through photographer after photographer's portfolio, it felt like every portfolio leaned heavily on window light, sunlight, bright exteriors. That’s great, but I’ve seen photographers really underperform when that natural light goes away if they’re not prepared. (If you look closely as you search for photographers, you might notice that very few photographers have a solid portfolio of dark interiors or use of remote strobes.) So when I came across Matt Soult from Morby Photography, he was one of maybe a handful of photographers whose quality of work really shines through in his portfolio, both in natural light but more importantly with his use of flash-- especially his creative use of remote flashes to light up the dance floor & ceremony. More importantly than his obvious talent, Matt is a really great dude. My wife and I met with him via zoom (we live out of state) and knew immediately he was our guy. Matt takes a candid, photojournalistic approach to his craft, and told us his goal was to become part of our family from the very start of the event. His intent was to capture the magic in-between the moments, get the posey & staged photos out of the way fast and focus on capturing us having fun, which is exactly what I wanted. He’s a genuine, interesting, nice guy who we found an instant connection with. On the day of the wedding, he and his second photographer Cami spent the whole day with us running around Philadelphia and capturing incredible stuff (thank you Cami for dragging all your gear around the city you’re a legend!!). Matt got all the photos we asked for and even made sure to check in with us during the wedding to make sure that we checked all our boxes. He had creative ideas for unique shots. Everything was flawless and we had so much fun… just magic. Thanks Matt & Cami you’re both awesome!! I also want to shout out Mike & Kari Morby who made the process of scheduling and planning so easy. Mike actually called me personally a few days before my wedding so we could talk through the schedule for the day, since we had a REALLY tight timeline to nail with a lot of moving parts. They really want you to get exactly what you want, and don't try to pressure you into doing something that works better for them. Their advice and assistance was pivotal to making the whole thing work like magic. Thank you both!! When we got the photos back, my wife and I were jaw-dropped. They were perfect. The quality of the work, the moments Matt captured... my biggest problem is I don't think I have enough wall space to print them all. If you're like me, and photos are one of the most important elements of your wedding, one of the things you're most concerned about and most excited for, and you’ve found your way to Morby, and to this review— I’m so happy to tell you your stressful googling is over. I am Mama to three wild boys and wife to a pretty rad redhead. Photography and the printed image are things that I hold close to my heart, right next to leather jackets, fuzzy dogs, vinyl records, and cheetah print everything. All of this nonsense information about me might not seem important, but trust me, it is. Your photographer should be more than just a somebody who knows their way around a camera— they should be a friend you jive with.

I love, love. And yes, that is cliche to say as a wedding photographer who literally makes a living telling your love stories through photos. But heres the thing: if I didnt, I’d be a terrible photographer. So, be glad, right? Kidding aside, every wedding I walk into is like a dopamine boost. No two weddings are ever the same and I love the differences in all of your stories. I pride myself on getting to know my couples personally and on a deeper level. We become actual friends. I want to know all your quirks and idiosyncrasies that make you who you are.

“When I say I searched high and low for a photographer with vintage style editing like Tara, I mean it. I spent months and months looking. She was always on my radar but was unfortunately booked for our date. After lots of contemplation and talking it over with Tara, we decided to go the route of having a “sub” photographer shoot the day and then Tara would do the editing herself. WOW did that work out for the best. The photographers that came for day of were two INCREDIBLE ladies, one I was highly considering when I found out Tara was booked, the other is now my business brand photographer. I brag all the time about how I was lucky enough to get the “dream team package”. It was like 3 for the price of one. As much as I would have loved to have Tara there on that day, I’m truly thankful for how she made it work in the best way possible. 10/10 recommend Tara!”

“Cauanne is the sweetest vendor we worked with. She treats you like a friend not a client and it makes you feel so special. You can tell she really loves what she does and cares about her work. On the day of our wedding she was amazing, always trying to keep us on the timeline without risking the photos. She gave us access to some photos a few days after the wedding and I already love them, I can’t wait for the rest! She has such a lived in and vintage feel to her photos that I love that so much. On top of that Ashley and Rebecca were able to take the pressure off of couples portraits before the wedding by creating a unique, intimate, striking, outdoor day-after location shoot. This allowed us to enjoy the run up to our wedding with minimal disruptions and gave us a portrait shoot that exceeded our expectations. “I truly had the dream team with Ashley, Michelle, and Ashley on my wedding day. Communication is a huge thing for me when it came to planning the wedding and they always responded in a timely manner and worked with my husbands crazy schedule. On our wedding day Ashley was with the ladies and I during getting ready, while Michelle had to handle the guys, I say handle because they’re a handful especially once my dad is thrown into the mix. (You know the sos button on your phone… yeah my dad bumped that and the state cops showed up…. Oops.) but Michelle did amazing with them. We had a first look and then did our family photos and they did a wonderful job getting the kids attention (3 kids under 2). During our ceremony I had no idea they were even there, they really do just blend in to the scene. During cocktail hour Ashley took some precious photos of us with our son that I know I’ll cherish forever. They even took us out for some nighttime portraits before the left for the night. I highly recommend working with Ashley and her team !”
