Ryan began his wedding videography career in 2010 in Los Angeles and quickly became recognized as one of the top videographers in the U.S.. After relocating to DC and still receiving countless inquiries from all corners of the country, Ryan decided to recruit and train a few talented friends so he could continue offering the quality wedding videography he’s known for in SoCal and eventually over 10 cities. Shutter and Sound is a very small group of filmmakers dedicated to turning your big day into a work of art.

I was born off the coast of Portugal, in the Azores Islands and raised in Cartaxo, close to Lisbon. Portugal was my home until the age of 19. I then moved to the US and have resided in Boston ever since. I enjoy the gorgeous seasons that New England offers an explorer like myself. My career started out in Graphic Design but at some point, photography found a place in my heart and soul, and I have been wandering the globe with my camera always in hand. Over the past decade I have been photographing weddings and events all over the country.

I did not not grow up with a camera in my hand knowing I wanted to be a photographer. I started with photography by photographing Punk/Hardcore bands but eventually stopped photographing those shows because I didn't want my camera gear to get broken by someone stagediving.
