Pheasant Run Farm Bed and Breakfast is a 48 farm, the original stone barn of the farm has been lovingly re-purposed into a bed and breakfast. The bed and breakfast features 4 overnight rooms. The ground floor, with separate entrances, has a large banquet room and a separate adjoining space perfect for indoor ceremonies and dancing. Outside the doors of the reception rooms is a large brick patio and pollinator garden, just right for cocktail hour. At the edge of the woods is a huge Maple tree and a waterfall where most of our couples choose to have their wedding ceremony. The Athenaeum is a beautifully preserved antebellum building, now serving as an art gallery. One of only two remaining examples of Neoclassical Greek Revival architecture in Alexandria, its exterior features an impressive portico supported by soaring Doric columns. Oversized windows bring natural light to the main gallery rooms, which boast 24-foot ceilings, wonderful woodwork, and exposed granite walls lined with rotating art exhibits. Your ceremony can be held in the sweet, private courtyard. This quaint, romantic space has a “secret garden” feel, sheltered from the street by high, vine-covered red brick walls. Please note wheelchair access is available only on the main floor. A/V equipment is available but limited. The Athenaeum is available for viewing during gallery hours or by appointment. Anthony Corradetti moved his thriving glassblowing business to Clipper Mill in 2005 after an already accomplished career spanning 30 years. His works are included in many private, corporate and museum collections. The space is an independent studio where glasswork is created everyday including large scale installations, lighting projects, and tabletop pieces for home or office. The showroom is open daily and features a variety of works for sale from one of a kind art to limited production pieces all made by Anthony Corradetti. Glassblowing classes & workshops are held regularly and the venue is available to rent for private events.
