I started photographing as a hobby about 12 years ago, while I was also a stunt man and stilt walker for the theme parks, I even got to play Indiana Jones at Disney back in the day! After teaming up with my partner Jonathan, I grew Patrick Buckley Images into PB and J Studios where we started to develop a team of highly skilled, passionate creators like myself. I did not not grow up with a camera in my hand knowing I wanted to be a photographer. I started with photography by photographing Punk/Hardcore bands but eventually stopped photographing those shows because I didn't want my camera gear to get broken by someone stagediving. Being apart of that music scene help me cultivate friendships with people all over the world, and gave me lots of travel opportunities. Those experiences carried over into weddings helping me understand real documentary style moments and being comfortable surrounded by new people.

I started in photography much as everyone else did. What was once a hobby in 2002 quickly became a passion. I started out with a 35mm film set up and would hang out in the city capturing candid moments of people going about their day to day lives. For me, it was like stepping outside the world around me and documenting it like looking through a window into a world I was no longer part of. In 2008, when I myself got married, I realized that a wedding day is one of the most emotional moments for a couple. Not only for them but for the families involved as well! It was Oct. 31st, 2008 when I shot my first wedding. I haven't looked back since.

Much to my delight, as a sophomore in high school, I was mistakenly placed into a senior level photography class. Since then I have never been without a camera. I graduated in 1993, with a BFA in Photography from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Before becoming a full-time photographer, I worked for a decade in journalism in the US and internationally as an Art Director and Creative Director at the Philadelphia Weekly, The Wall Street Journal and WSJ.com. After leaving journalism in 2004, I opened my own studio in Manhattan where I lived for 20 years, met my husband, and had twins before moving to Princeton, NJ in 2014.

When I'm not behind the camera I'm hiking, fly fishing and doing yoga. I'll use any excuse to head north to the Adirondacks. (Eagle Bay donuts is my favorite incentive for a day trip.)
