His expertise in event conduction and his ability to smile in the face of chaos kept everything organized and on track, even when the weather threw us a curveball. He helped redirect guests seamlessly when we had to adjust the schedule due to high winds and rain. His musical selections were spot on, providing great background music during dinner and keeping guests engaged on the dancefloor with an intuitive mix of songs we requested along with well-timed classics. Zacch went above and beyond by playing music late into the night after being informed by the camp hosts that he would need to spend the night at the venue due to an atmospheric river and downed trees blocking the road. “When planning our wedding, we knew we wanted the music to be epic! Music is so important to my now husband Ryan and me. We wanted a packed dance floor, but we also wanted to incorporate our Jewish culture and even play some of our psych-rock faves, plus the odd request from our parents. It was a tall request! Chad handled it like a champ and created a playlist that checked our boxes and got everyone on the dance floor! When working with Chad, it's apparent that he had an enormous knowledge of music and DJing, as well as the intricacies of events and hosting. For example, we mentioned in our wedding vows a joke about rickrolling, and he added Never Gonna Give You Up to our playlist! It was amazing! I can't imagine a better DJ, truly. When we first met with Jamie, he said he could make people dance to anything and would keep people on the dance floor all night, and he WAS NOT LYING. The whole night, the dance floor was PACKED even though it was rainy/muddy/cold/wet. Jamie took us on a journey that covered all of the bases of the music we love to hear and dance to, seamlessly and magically (?) integrating genres with the best mixes, it was pure wizardry and really captured who we were. We as a couple care a lot about music and wanted music that represented who we were and what we like to listen to, and he did not disappoint! So much prep work went into this, he took patience and time to try to understand our tastes and vibe, and it was so cool to have the wedding played on vinyl- basically, Jamie just "got it" from start to finish and we had the best time! Our wedding also got delayed due to rain and a road closure and he was such a good sport, staying late to keep us all dancing for a whole other hour- so fun! Also, when our ceremony musician was stuck in traffic due to the storm, he was so prepared and had our prelude/processional music downloaded so we could still walk down the aisle to the songs we'd chosen. Overall, such a cool, kind, funny guy who was professional and prepared in every way and honest just takes time to meet and know his clients, and clearly just loves to share his love of music. “I highly recommend PDX DJs. The owner Sean is attentive and respectful. I had every question answered when I first signed on to work with PDX DJs. I also loved their transparent pricing - it's pretty rare that a company touts transparent pricing, and actually means it. Especially in the wedding industry, it was such a breath of fresh air to just have a vendor be straightforward, honest, and not try to upsell us or misrepresent pricing/fees etc. Steven was our DJ and he listened to everything we wanted & delivered. I had a very specific timeline including emcee cues & music for the pre ceremony & ceremony, and I was a little nervous that with only one meeting beforehand there was room for error. But these guys are professionals, asked questions about anything that was unclear in our meeting, and executed everything perfectly. We provided our must plays for the reception, and Steven texted me before hand asking if he could swap one of our picks with a remix version of the same song. I'd never heard of the remix but said go ahead! Now that song stands out to me as one of my favorite moments from the reception and is always tied to our wedding day. “We have used Craig w/Hi Fidelity for 2 weddings over the years - he is so much more than a typical DJ! He has a way of engaging with the audience that is amazing. He is able to get people involved and dancing that would typically just watch or leave at that point. I have been to many weddings over the years but have never been to any that are more FUN than the ones he’s DJ’d. He had the entirety of guests laughing and participating until the very end when the venue told us we had to wrap it up for the night. I had a guest write me a letter afterwards thanking me for having such a fun wedding reception; he is 70 yrs old and stated that this was the best wedding he’d ever been to in his entire life! Wow. “The Hook Club was by far the coolest musicians I was able to find in terms of having an NYC night out vibe, and not a typical "wedding" vibe. We had a bass and guitar duo for our cocktail hour. They were super nice and awesome musicians. It started raining an hour into our cocktails so we had to move inside, and the bassist switched to playing a piano so that we could continue the music inside. Everyone was so impressed by how multi-talented they were!! Loved them and wish we had them play music for more of our reception. Dan, the founder, as well as the rest of their staff were incredibly organized and attentive throughout the planning process. Highly recommend!!”
