From classical cello to alternative, funky, beatbox cello grooves to DJing a dance party, Cello Joe can perform for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and dance parties.
I bring a lot of energy to my DJ work. I work with the couple to curate their favorite songs for dancing: both fast and slow partner dances. I can bring as much or as little hype on the mic as the couple wants. I generally like to stay off the mic for my personal style and let the music and mixing speak for itself. As far as what sets me apart, I am extremely punctual and arrive as early as possible for setup. In all the years I have been doing weddings, I have never been late to a wedding! I have a professional lighting package.

Profession,communication was impeccable. Had a cellist and DJ in one. Joe went the extra mile to make our event amazing. DEFINITELY, ABSOLUTELY recommend.
World class person, performer & musician .!
I recently had the pleasure of booking Cello Joe to perform at my wedding and what a special experience it was!!! Joey is a true professional on all levels! From start to finish, communication was effortless and always on point. He even assisted us with setting up and dialing in the sound system. Now on to the important stuff... Cello Joe's performance bridged the spectrum of family and friends present for our wedding. It was such a magical experience seeing so many loved ones getting down to veggie maniac, bike girl and so much love :). Cello Joe delivered a performance that brought joy and smiles to everyone's experience. Overall I rate our experience 11/11. It was an honor to have such a talented musician perform and such a fun character to hang out with the rest of the event. Cello Joe's set was the musical highlight of our wedding. We're extraordinarily grateful that Cello Joe made the trip up to Portland and very much look forward to seeing this musical genius again in the near future!
Joey is the BEST DJ!!
We cannot say enough great things about Joey. The lead up to the wedding was seamless- he has great documents for preparation that made things so easy to plan. He has a huge list of cello songs in his repertoire but was still able to learn a new one for our bridal entrance. His live music was stunning and truly made our ceremony and pre ceremony feel so incredibly special. Then onto the party- he absolutely crushed it. The transitions were amazing, he ebbed and flowed with the party and sprinkled in some surprise hits. Our guests all couldn’t stop raving. Just when we thought it couldn’t get better he added some live cello into the reception DJ playlist and everyone was floored. We will absolutely be using Joey again - best wedding DJ ever and we aren’t just saying that because it was our wedding!
The Perfect cellist for our wedding!
Joe was exactly what we wanted for our wedding. He was easy to work with, great communication, punctual, well dressed, and most importantly sounded great! We had a custom request of "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran and he took the time to learn it for us and turned out exactly as we hoped. HIGHLY recommend CelloJoe!
