The Vinton War Memorial is owned and operated by the Town of Vinton and often hosts public events at the venue. The Vinton War Memorial was originally conceived as the centerpiece of an 11.5-acre park that could be enjoyed by the community while honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country during World War II. The park was completed in 1946 and the two-story brick building known as the Vinton War Memorial was dedicated and opened to the public on August 20, 1948. Initially, it included the town's library, small meeting rooms, and the Dogwood Ballroom.

Lovingston Winery is a weekend wedding venue that prioritizes slowing down and enjoying time with those that you love. With all of our packages we include 2 nights at our historic 1906 farmhouse and charming log cabin. These spaces allow for up to 16 guests to stay on property with you throughout the weekend. In addition, there are sweeping views of mountains, vineyards, pastures, and pond that can be viewed from our ceremony sites. When it's time for dinner, you can take a beautiful stroll to our newly constructed Tupelo House. This reception space allows for you to take in the setting sun while enjoying the high end touches like chandeliers, open frame timber, and a massive 8' wide fireplace. Our venue at the Science Museum of Western Virginia has 2 floors that you can utilize or rent out one floor for the event. Our space is does not include a caterer but we can offer suggestions to use in the area. We can also obtain a license for liquor, wine and beer. Its sanctuary was constructed in 1882, making it the second oldest religious structure still standing in the Town of Amherst. Starting in 2012, a grassroots group took the initiative to save a historic structure in the heart of Amherst, VA, and to re-purpose it as a creative community center.
