The Home and Farm have been passed down through 8 generations of the Miller family. In 1827, John Miller Sr. purchased the land from Francis Thornton and built a modest family home with his son, “Poplar John”. The simple rectangular structure was built from bricks fired on the bank of the Thornton River and trees harvested from nearby Turkey Mountain. Sixty years later, John Byron made substantial additions including the present-day Owner’s Suite, Queen’s Room, and sitting porches.

Located in Fairfax County near Clifton, VA, Whitehall Farm offers 205+ acres of picturesque secluded woodlands filled with local wildlife, forested streams, and rolling pasture. Whitehall Farm has been in the Vazquez family for 60 years, and is currently run by Nadine Vazquez. Ms. Vazquez and her husband rebuilt Whitehall as a working educational farm, with the hope of permanently preserving it as an open space in an increasingly crowded Fairfax County. We have a large, unique barn made of natural, recycled materials of strawbales for insulation and recycled wine bottles for light and design. You no longer see the strawbales in the wall as they have been covered with a hydraulic lime the same material castles in France for hundreds of years have been made from. The inside is a museum quality white lime finish with unique curves with sun shining through the patterned wine bottle walls to give a unique backdrop.
