There is nothing quite like the elegance of strings. We recommend string groups for Wedding Ceremonies, Elegant Dinners, and Cocktail Hours. Whether it is the standard grouping of Violin, Violin, Viola and Cello or a hybrid ensemble with harp or guitar, our players are well versed in both classical and contemporary repertoire. We also have Electric String Quartets. Some clients opt to have the group play acoustic for the ceremony and switch to electric instruments for cocktail hour.

Our Hoppin’ John Steel Band performs Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Carnival, Belafonte, “Beach Music” and standard American selections as well. Instrumentalists in this group include steel drums (or “pans”) of various sizes, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keyboard, horns, vocalists, limbo dancers and other specialists added for special occasions.

The Celtic Balladeers perform all styles of Irish and Celtic music. In the above sound clip they are captured live (VERY live) on St. Patty’s day at Coogan’s on Broadway. The sound clip features our guitar and tenor banjo duo while the complete band includes several other instrumentalists such as guitar, Irish tenor banjo, accordion, fiddle, bass, drums, bodhran, whistle, pipes, flute, mandolin, keyboard, horns, vocalists and dancers. Besides the standard, and county specific Irish material they can also perform a whole catalog of American dance music.

String 18 is a perfect trio for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and dinners. Their repertoire includes Classic Rock, Contemporary Pop, Latin, Jazz, and Classical. With three acoustic guitars they create vibrant musical arrangements that range from the elegance of a String Quartet to the fire of the Gipsy Kings. There is almost no piece of music that they cannot perform, so this is a great ensemble for special requests.

Margot Varret is a uniquely gifted performer with both her voice and harp. As a native born French speaker she is expert in the repertoire of Chanson made famous by iconic artists like Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour. She is also a fabulous classic jazz singer who renders the classics of the great American songbook with a signature French flair. She regularly sells out Birdland Theater leading her own group.

Erica Mancini is one of our top artists at Music Dept. She is a Chicago-land native, born to Argentine parents, who moved to New York City in 2009. Her diverse repertoire includes Jazz, New Orleans Music, French, and German/Bavarian/Oktoberfest. Erica also loves to perform well loved pop songs which audiences would never expect to hear on Accordion. These songs range from 80’s pop anthems to Amy Winehouse covers.

Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, DJ Smartz began learning the art of DJing at 15 as a skating rink DJ. DJ Smartz was a b-boy during his time as a skating rink DJ and through battles with the crew Hypnotik Body Rock he was introduced to turntablism at the age of 17. Smartz bought his first set of turntables at the age of 19 and from there has become one of the most prominent open format DJ's in Charleston and the surrounding areas.

DJ B is a top notched female DJ in Charleston who prides herself on her eclectic taste in music and her ability to connect with her audience. I’ve been a touring drummer for the last decade with Pattern is Movement. I’ve had the pleasure to share the stage with artists like The Roots, St. Vincent, Dirty Projectors, Shabazz Palaces and tour all around the world. I’ve also been booking shows for years at Philly’s own Johnny Brenda’s. My life revolves around music and that is why I love to DJ.
