We are a husband and wife team located in New Haven, Connecticut who have played over 1000+ weddings and hire professionals from the top orchestras in New England. As a modern couple ourselves, recently married in May of 2021, we are very familiar with the process on both sides. Modern Strings offers a variety of ensemble choices for your budget that range from a solo violinist, to an electric duo, to full string quartet. Whether you are wanting to stay classic or try something unique, our music library can offer you classical, pop, religious, film, jazz music, and more!

We believe that the modern couple, should have modern musicians that can take play in a variety of styles in order to create a personalized experience for their event. Planning a wedding is an exciting time, and you'll have not one, but two people to assist in complementing your musical style to your wedding.

Thank you to Modern Strings for an amazing experience! We had Ben play violin during our ceremony. They had a very wide selection of songs and genres to choose from - and was flexible enough to even play my original song while I walked down the aisle! From booking to planning and performing the day of, every aspect was professional, friendly, and exceptional. Highly recommend!

Modern Strings played our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and they were one of my favorite aspects of the entire day. They were incredibly helpful and professional during the planning process, and so creative in curating a list of songs to complete our list of 'special requests.' The string trio played a number of different genres and catered to a couple different moods over the course of their two hour set; all were played beautifully. We had 170 guests, and I can't recount how many of them commented on the Strings! Everyone particularly loved that they played Hall & Oates "You Make my Dreams Come True" after we were announced husband and wife! I could not recommend them enough for your special day.

Modern Strings was an incredible addition to our wedding day. Celine and Ben, the violin duo, provided beautiful and professional music during both our ceremony and cocktail hour. Their communication was quick, efficient, and effortless - they were very easy to get in touch with if we had any questions or requests. The quality of their work was top-notch, and they were incredibly accommodating throughout the planning process. They have a wide variety of music available to choose from, and the melodies they played were the perfect complement to our special day. Choosing Modern Strings for our October wedding was the best choice we could've made! To put it simply, Celine and her team were amazing and incredibly talented!! The string trio played for our ceremony and cocktail hour and truly made it the wedding of my dreams, providing enchanting music to walk down the aisle to and setting the perfect ambiance for our 150 guests. Everyone was raving about how wonderful the music was!! Prior to the wedding, Celine was not only super responsive to all my communications but even helped guide me with my music selections. They have such a massive library and range of music to choose from, it was a hard decision!! If you want to elevate your wedding, appreciate great music/musicians, and want to create a magical experience for your guests please go with modern strings!!
