Make sure to preference that you would like a babysitter on the RSVP tab so we can follow up with more details!

Winter Park is at or above 9,000 feet. When you are not accustomed to the altitude, you should take precautions while you are visiting. Above 8000 feet, altitude illness affects 20-30% of visitors from low altitude to some degree. The extent to which you are affected depends on what elevation you attain, how hard you exercise, what you eat/drink and what health problems you have (smoking, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure). Altitude Sickness is often characterized by the symptoms of: • headaches • nausea • vomiting • difficulty sleeping • loss of appetite • fatigue • shortness of breath • diarrhea Before you arrive, eating foods high in carbs, drinking more water than usual and using less salt may help. Once you arrive, take it easy for the first day or two. Drink two or three times more water or fluid than usual and minimize caffeine intake. Be aware that you will not be able to drink the same amount of alcohol as usual without feeling the effects. Listen to your body!
