ORD O'hare International Airport (Chicago)
ORD is a great airport if you want simplicity and a variety of shops and restaurants to explore. The security lines are a bit longer here so we recommend giving yourself plenty of time when departing. The gates are quite close to the entrance, so a shorter walk compared to most airports. Need to pick up something to wear? To eat? To keep yourself busy out in this corn field of a state? Plenty of shopping found on the way home from this airport. This airport is right in the heart of Chicago's business life so a 45 minute drive can turn into double depending on rush hour.

MDW Midway International Airport (Chicago)
MDW is a great airport if you like to explore the tastes that airports have to offer, right after entering through a usual quick security line. I recommend only flying in during the day here, due to not being a fan of the area it is located near. This airport is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from McHenry, taking you through the neighborhoods of Chicago and a quick run by the city. Just don't even dare to buy any Cubs or White Sox gear at the airport...

MKE Mitchell International Airport (Milwaukee)
MKE is a very quiet airport, a perfect airport for those who like to explore airports while they wait, but also not have to worry about long security lines. A longer walk than usual for most airports from the gate to entrance, but peaceful. Not a whole lot to eat at this airport, but you may get lucky if their ping pong table is out. This airport is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from McHenry, a drive that takes you through the more of the country aspect of the midwest than city aspect. Just don't even dare to buy any Packers gear at the airport...
