High School provided us with many memorable Homecoming dances!
Homecoming dances then turned into Proms!
And Proms eventually turned into Weddings of friends and family!
We discovered early our comparable competitive sides when we adventured to Par-King Mini Golf one day!
It now has become a lifelong competition between us who is the better mini golfer, as we continue to find new mini golf courses!
Cody's love of baseball and the Yankees helped convert (force) Katelyn to love the best team in the MLB...
Katelyn has proven herself to be Cody's good luck charm as the Yankees are undefeated when they both go to a game together! 6-0 so far!
Even witnessed a walk off win at our first visit to Yankee Stadium together!
We both agree that our love wouldn't be as strong as it is without our shared love for our Catholic faith. Here we are serving the lord on a mission trip we both went on!
If you asked Cody before he met Katelyn if he would ever like NASCAR, you'd get an immediate no. Katelyn has a way about changing his mind though... Our first race together at Chicagoland Speedway!
Katelyn might regret getting Cody interested in NASCAR now with all the questions he asks from it growing on him... Here we are visiting Bristol Motor Speedway!
Our relationship has always shown constant support of our individual interests and goals, such as Cody's time playing baseball or Katelyn's competitive cheerleading!
Academics has always been a huge part of our lives. We both agree that without each other's love and support, we wouldn't have survived the challenges college threw at us!
No matter the distance away from each other during our undergraduate years, we always found time for each other, through phone call, text, Snapchat, Facetime, and even written mail!
College graduations were such an exciting time for both of us because that meant no more "LDR" aka long distance relationship due to college!
Unfortunately, we aren't quite done yet with our academics, as we are so close to achieving our dreams in our respective careers! However, we can conquer anything when together now!
The best thing about growing close to someone is the ability to goof around together!
Every adventure is always an opportune time to express our goofy side and make funny memories!
A friend isn't a true friend unless they embrace your goofy side and join in!
Not a day goes by without a funny or memorable moment between the both of us!
Growing closer together led us to be more open to new things and activities like: ice skating!
Growing closer together led us to be more open to new things and activities like: Paint Rave on Memory Mall (how ironic of a name) at UCF!
Growing closer together led us to be more open to new things and activities like: storming the court after a UCF March Madness win! (Ironically against University of Illinois)
Growing closer together led us to be more open to new things and activities like: white water rafting in Tennessee!
Growing closer together led us to be more open to new things and activities like: visiting Las Vegas! (A bit on the "crowded" side for us)
Local adventures, either local to McHenry or our respective undergrad, included: discovering a sunflower maze that was full of beautiful photo opportunities!
Local adventures, either local to McHenry or our respective undergrad, included: visiting what "mountainous" landscape Illinois has to offer at Starved Rock State Park!
Local adventures, either local to McHenry or our respective undergrad, included: attempting not to fall in as we jokingly try do yoga poses on a paddleboard!
Local adventures, either local to McHenry or our respective undergrad, included: many trips to Devil's Lake State Park in Wisconsin where it's a bit more "mountainous" for our liking!
Local adventures, either local to McHenry or our respective undergrad, included: practicing our best "2 Fast 2 Furious" scene remakes or competing for who would make better NASCAR driver...
Local adventures, either local to McHenry or our respective undergrad, included: kayaking with creatures of many kinds, like alligators, manatees, and dolphins!
Local adventures, either local to McHenry or our respective undergrad, included: exploring what the "Windy City" has to offer once in awhile. The Shedd Aquarium is one of our Chicago favorites!
A pit stop on our first road-trip together, Mt. Rushmore! Can you guess which president is Katelyn's favorite? We bet you a penny you couldn't figure it out...
Glacier National Park, the first National Park we ever visited and where the relationship goal to visit every National Park together was born!
The second National Park we visited was Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where we hiked and reached the first summit ever together, Mt. LeConte!
Grand Canyon was third to be crossed off our National Park list, where we hiked and admired its beauty and vastness during the day, and were amazed by the stars at night!
Fourth on our completed list, Mammoth Cave National Park, was a change of scenery type as we hiked down into tunnels and caves rather than up mountains!
We hope we can say one day that our marriage is as old as a Joshua Tree, which can live from 150 to 500 years. Joshua Tree National Park was our recent National Park visited in January 2020!
The moment Cody asked Katelyn to spend the rest of her life with him!
It was under this rock formation on an Antelope Canyons hike in Page, AZ that Cody got down on a knee. The heart formation purposefully chosen to signify that Katelyn will forever have Cody's heart!
She said "Yes!"
All of our memories, adventures, and love-filled moments together have brought us to present day, where we are ready to become one and begin the next chapter of our lives together!
