We reserved a block of rooms for our guests at the Best Western Woodbury Inn. You can reach out directly to the hotel and mention either of our names to be given the block rate. Book your room by November 2023 to confirm your stay. This hotel is just down the road from our venue and is an easy drive or ride-share ride from Fox Hollow and the train station.

The Days Inn in Woodbury NY is just down the street from our venue. We do not have a block of rooms at this hotel, but it is another very close and affordable option for anyone coming in from out of town!

The Comfort Inn Syosset-Long Island is about 6 minutes away from our venue, right on the same road. We do not have a block of rooms at The Comfort Inn, but they are another affordable and close hotel option for guests coming in from further away.

Flight

John F. Kennedy Airport

JFK is New York's largest airport and is not too far from our venue in Woodbury. If you're flying into JFK, you can catch a cab or rideshare outside the airport to bring you out to Long Island or take the trains out! By car, it usually takes 40 minutes to an hour to get to Woodbury (depending on traffic), so plan accordingly. If you're opting to train in from the airport, you can catch the JFK AirTrain which brings you to Jamaica where you can transfer to an LIRR train on either the Huntington or Port Jefferson lines to Syosset.

LaGuardia Airport

LaGuardia is a slightly smaller airport and is probably the closest airport to Woodbury. If you fly into LaGuardia, you can expect a 30 minute to 50 minute drive from the airport. If you want to take the train from LaGuardia, it is best to get to the Jamaica LIRR Station which you can do by taking the Q70 SBS Bus then taking the E Subway. Once at Jamaica, you can get a Huntington or Port Jefferson LIRR line and take it to the Syosset Station which is only 2 miles from The Somerley!

Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)

To buy a ticket for the LIRR, you can download the MTA TrainTime App on your phone then choose "Tickets" from the bottom menu and click "Buy" in the upper right corner. If you are coming from JFK Airport, you can catch the AirTrain from JFK to Jamaica then get the LIRR at Jamaica and take it to the Syosset Station on either the Huntington or Port Jefferson lines.

NYC Subway System

The NYC Subway system can be very easy to navigate if you use a map app on a smart phone to give you directions from point A to point B and choose to calculate the route with Public Transportation (the train symbol within your app). Your app will direct you to exactly which train you need to get on, where to get on, whether you are going uptown or downtown, where to get off, and how many stops it will be. Subway stations now take Apple Pay and any Credit/ Debit Cards that can be tapped at the turnstile. Metro cards are still also available for purchase at most Subway Stations.

MTA (Metropolitan Transport Authority) Public Transport

The MTA is the system that manages all of NYC's public transportation including all subways, commuter rails, and public busses. You may want or need to catch an MTA bus to get to and from an airport, hotel, or closer to our venue. When utilizing MTA, remember that nearly all MTA entities accept tap credit cards and virtual wallet cards that you tap from your phone. Direct transfers from one subway line to another are always free of charge as long as you do not leave the underground subway station. Direct transfers from subways to busses are also free as long as you use the same card or payment method on both parts of the trip!

NYC Yellow Cabs

If you're arriving in NYC or spending time sightseeing there, you'll see New York's famous yellow cabs everywhere. Just flag one down, hop in, and tell the driver your destination! Yellow cab prices are typically comparable to Uber and Lyft prices and all NYC taxis are equipped with card readers so no need for cash! Feel free to download the ARRO app on your smartphone to hail a cab and pay through the app! Please remember that wait times, availability, and prices may vary on New Years' Eve.
