Bryant Park is one of the most festive spots in NYC during the holidays! Walk through the Winter Village and explore the shops of local vendors, artists, and classic NYC street food, or bring a pair of ice skates to skate for FREE on the outdoor ice skating rink (skates can also be rented on site)!
If you're looking for something to do indoors during the day, The Met is a great option! The Met is one of the most famous, family-friendly art museums in the United States! It is easy to spend hours admiring their extensive collection and still feel like you haven't seen it all!
The Rose Room is a seasonal speakeasy hidden behind Long Island's Garden City Hotel! To get to the secret bar, let the concierge at the hotel know that you would like to go to the Rose Room. They'll provide instructions and soon you'll be sipping their famous whisky flights by the fireplace!
The Black Sheep is a perfect local bar for a lower-key night of beer and casual conversation. You can expect to find a crowd of Long Island locals in their 20's and 30's playing darts, drinking local draft beers, and playing their favorite songs on the digital jukebox! Please note that The Black Sheep does not serve food.
Looking for dinner and an activity? Japanese BBQ lets you cook your own food right at your personal BBQ station at your table! John and Alex first discovered Gyu Kaku's Chicago location when they were living out there in 2020, but have now been to the East Village location to celebrate multiple big milestones since living in NY!
One of our new favorites - All you can eat Hot Pot! Just order what meat, veggies, and other items you want and cook it yourself in a soup base of your choice! Please be aware that the Westbury location is not yet offering Korean BBQ, but we love their Hot Pot!
The Carle Place Diner is our go-to spot for a quick easy bite close to home! It's a classic Long Island Greek Diner with nearly anything you can imagine on the menu from pasta to burgers to gyros to pancakes and everything in between!
The French Workshop is a quaint local coffee shop right in Garden City, just a few minutes away from our home at Hofstra University. It's a great spot to sit, get some work done, people watch, and grab a fresh baked pastry or home-brewed drip coffee or espresso!
