Full disclosure – Ted has received feedback from both his coworkers and Brittany that he is too verbose. So, this is the abridged version. If you want the full work of art – text him. It’s probably a 2MB PDF. Ted, on the 8th move of his professional life, relocated to Richmond in June 2020 to start his civilian career with Amazon Fulfillment. Brittany had lived in Richmond for – well, forever. As fate would have it, they would not meet until Ted was three weeks removed from move #9. Put simply, Ted met Brittany because of Gus, Ted’s very unique pug (kind of). Ted and Gus joined a dog park bar in Richmond in late 2021. Months passed. Ted was promoted at Amazon, and accepted a position in Omaha, Nebraska launching a new Fulfillment Center. He decided to throw a going away party. Mutual friends from the dog park invited Brittany. In the coming weeks following the going away party, Ted and Brittany bonded over Uno, true crime documentaries, and football. Brittany liked that Ted had dogs, but Gus was a red flag. She hates shedding. Gus might shed more than any dog known to man. Ted came up with excuses to be a ringer on Brittany’s kickball team in the few weeks he had remaining in Richmond. They platonically chaperoned a hang outs with other couples. They had their first official date the week he moved out of town at an Indian restaurant. They dated long-distance while he bounced around Des Moines, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska before moving to Middletown, Delaware in July 2022.

After many trips up and down I-95, Brittany and Ted finally decided it was time to be in the same city. Despite a solid effort, Brittany was unsuccessful in getting Ted to relocate back down to Richmond. Although it was the obviously superior location of the two, Brittany agreed to compromise and move up to Middletown, Delaware. You may be asking yourself, "Where even is Delaware?" Rest assured you are not alone. From Uber drivers to even some of Brittany's friends, most could probably not tell you the state's geographic location on a map (trust us, we know this is a fact from many conversations). Some of Brittany's best friends decided to celebrate her the whole weekend leading up to her last week in RVA. Ted had initially planned to propose at Brittany's absolute favorite Richmond coffee shop, Blanchards, which would then promptly be followed by a surprise going away party with some of her closest friends! However, if you know Ted, you know he is full of surprises and is slightly impatient. Ted decided to scrap the whole plan and proposed at a small group dinner at 11 P.M. the night before the planned surprise party, right as the night was wrapping up.
