As an Austrian-born immigrant, it was essential for me to reflect my heritage in the event, and Hausfrau delivered beyond my expectations. From the moment I contacted Kristin Sanders, I knew I was in good hands. This was my first experience hiring a caterer, and Kristin was nothing short of amazing. She assisted me in planning the menu and remained incredibly accommodating as my guest list grew from 35 to 65. Throughout the planning process, she was mindful of my budget, while ensuring that everything was just right. The staff arrived on time and set up beautifully, donning stunning Austrian Dirndl dresses that added a special touch to the event. The food was absolutely perfect! We had a delightful array of German and Austrian dishes, complemented by some American favorites. The hors d'oeuvres, pretzel bar, buffet with three main dishes, and dessert received rave reviews from my guests, who are still talking about the meal and the event! Whether it is the wooden bridge, the gazebo, or even just using the golf course in the background, we are always free to create for our couples. Second, the catering they provide is top notch. In the past few months we have been at this venue and have always been blown away with the meals we have received. The staff gets the meals out quickly which provides us with some extra daylight to grab the couple for some additional images. Finally, the staff and in particular the coordinators are some of our favorites. “Honestly, it is hard to put into words how much my husband and I cherish Kayla, not only as our photographer but also our friend. My husband and I got to know Kayla over the last two years when she captured our first engagement photos back in 2020. It was from that very first interaction on that we both knew Kayla would be our forever friend and person to capture our love. Her eye for creativity and her passion sparks something in her clients to be completely trusting of her and her vision. Kayla never once made us uncomfortable, in fact; it was quite opposite because when she captured our love it was the most comfortable we have ever been. She knows how to get a genuine laugh out of her clients and loves to make sessions fun! When it came to our wedding it was 100% a no brainer to have her come and be apart of the big day. It was so easy to get photos of all of us because it felt like Kayla was apart of our friend group! Again, she is not only the BEST photographer but she truly becomes your friend, and a really good one! In the craziness of the day I had forgotten half of the things I wanted to capture but not Kayla! She was on it! She would remind me and help keep me and everyone else on time! From day one as we toured the venue I was blown away at how detail-oriented and passionate she was about making the client’s dream wedding come to life. It is very accessibly friendly which was greatly appreciated for my guests who struggle with walking. There is a place for everything… wish you could stow away something out of guests sight? “When I met Jesse at a bridal expo, I immediately had a good feeling about him and knew he would be a great fit for our wedding. We had spoken to a number of different companies big and small, but none seemed to have the same level of organization and professionalism. One of the standout qualities of Jesse was his exceptional organization. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, he communicated with us to ensure he had a thorough understanding of our musical preferences, the timeline of events, and any specific announcements we wanted to be made. This meticulous preparation paid off on the big day, as everything flowed seamlessly. He helped let everyone know when it was time for speeches, entrances, and dances. The day of went off without a hitch and that is a 100% because of Jesse's communication with my "Day of coordinator"(my sister in law). When it came time to cut the cake I forgot to get out the cake knife and my heart sank. It was buried underneath a bunch of boxes and I was panicking, but Jesse stayed calm and helped me quickly locate what I needed and kept the party going. An added bonus is the available on site lodging for rental, which we made great use of for our close friends, family, and wedding party to stay in the night before and night of the wedding. We enjoyed the Great Room in the Grist Mill for our rehearsal dinner. Our guests loved how spacious Drumore Mill was, and we appreciated all the attention to detail such as included (but still optional) decor and greenery, and the setup of chairs and other items for the ceremony space. Being able to bring in all of our own vendors at no additional cost was fantastic. The value for renting the property from Thursday to Saturday morning was unmatched and completely worth it. “Historic Shady Lane provided excellent communication throughout our wedding planning process. Their coordinator Caitlyn was very good about keeping us informed and addressing any of our questions or concerns. The venue itself was beautifully stunning, with a gorgeous greenhouse and very spacious reception tent. When it rained on our wedding day, they were quick to accommodate and rearrange the setup so our guests could stay nice and dry inside the greenhouse. They also offered golf cart transportation, which our guests really appreciated. While their preferred vendor list had some great options, we ended up finding an amazing makeup artist that wasn't on their list. Overall, Historic Shady Lane contributed greatly to making our special day unforgettable.”
